When Kamara noticed Nate's body being placed next to her, she was still laying on the couch. They gave first aid right there in the living room. Nate's wounds were dressed with medicinal plants, but he didn't wake up. Kamara was cold, her little body tucked under the cover, her lips quivering.

"What made Enzo want to murder Nate?" Caiden began to think deeply. He asked the question to himself as no one else could have the answer.

Terrified, Kamara turned to face Caiden, and a million questions raced through her head.

"What will you do at this point?" Kamara asked, expecting the alpha to respond in a way that would satisfy her.

He turned to hurry, saying, "No one can know that Nate is alive until he recovers. Get everything ready; Nate will accompany you on your departure tonight."

Caiden's heart was racing in his chest as he left the room. He was secretly happy that Nate was still alive, but the question he'd posed moments earlier was still weighing heavily on his mind.

There was nobody remaining on the streets of the pack at midnight. The night was still but for the sound of a bar. The van was positioned in front of the main building by the informant from the Full Moon pack. Before long, Kamara was there with the children as Caiden carried her in his arms. Nate, still asleep, trailed closely following. There wasn't much time for Caiden to mourn the departure of his family, which he detested. He gave the children a quick hug before turning to face Kamara. He kissed her forehead and said, "Be careful and call me if you notice any danger.""Caiden, we'll be alright."Of course they would be. That much was certain, he thought, but how would Caiden manage without them? He had to be strong. He shut the van door, blocking his view of the boys' faces behind the opaque glass. Caiden felt bad about having to be apart from them again as the van pulled away. The Full Moon pack felt like its own world. It was not at all like the city in which Caiden ruled suprem

As the doctor hurried into the room to see Nate, Kamara stayed immobilized. Is it delirious following the trauma? Or was Nate actually aware of who had taken his kids hostage? Her body tensed as her heart pounded in her chest. Kamara was too nervous to say anything. Her heart was only slightly relieved to know that Nate was alright. Gazing at him, pallid and terrified, she attempted to visualize the risk he had gone through in the days he was absent. Before, Nate and Ed had become stuck in a hole and he had almost perished trying to save her. He was now seriously hurt and on the verge of death in his attempt to find out who was involved in the kidnapping the children. Really, Nate was her hero. The doctor remarked, "Your quick recovery is quite surprising," but Nate gave him a disinterested expression as if he didn't comprehend. "I thought it would be days before I saw you awake again."Nate turned his head at that moment, his terrified eyes meeting Kamara's. A chill scuttled her back

Through the main building's window, Caiden watched the sun brighten the sky. There was a knock on the door just as the first rays of sunlight reached his skin and lit up the entire space. It resembled the sound that jolted him back to consciousness. Even though Kamara and the children had not been back for more than twenty-four hours, Caiden was already missing them all.Approaching the door, he opened it expecting to see one of his subordinates behind it, so he was taken aback to see Jessie there. He inhaled deeply. In addition, he didn't want to argue with Jessie in particular to start the day off wrong. Caiden had a lot on his plate, and a talk would throw his plans into a loop."You didn't spend the night at home." Her voice carried a deep melancholy as she asked, "Caiden, how long will we continue like this?"Caiden's displeasure with her inquiries was evident from the hand on his face. Caiden could take living with Jessie no more.He chose to lie and say, "There were matters tha

"Cornelius, before I take you to the place, please respond to this one question." Caiden's interest was aroused. "How did Ed harm you?"Cornelius gave him a look, and his demeanor immediately transformed. It was obvious that this inquiry had sent him back to a terrible and depressing area, where the Full Moon King found it extremely difficult to remember."My daughter was killed by Ed."It resembled a heart attack. He felt his heart bleed horribly each time he admitted to doing this. Cornelius felt a lump form in his throat, making breathing difficult. He went on, "I have been tracking Ed's every step, day and night. But he is a crafty hunter and has gotten away from all of my traps, I must admit."Considering all that Ed had caused Kamara to endure, Caiden was aware of his reckless and unrelenting nature as a werewolf. But when Ed saved Nate's life, Caiden's heart was filled with a sliver of hope that Ed might have had a change of character. Caiden was probably wrong."How did this c

The story that a human had made contact with the pack quickly caught on. The pack had not received humans in many years. If you didn't cross it to go to the road, nobody would know about it.The location Matt was going, which wasn't even marked on the map, was something he had heard about from Nate. Matt was only kept in the dark about the fact that it was teeming with werewolves. Should he be aware of it, he would be overcome with fear and lack the bravery to proceed there and provide Caiden with the necessary proof. In the morning, Matt received a message from Nate informing him of an upcoming surprise and requesting him to follow through on their plan with Caiden before heading to the Moon Howlers pack. Given that Matt would have to cross a forest that was home to three of the most dangerous packs, Nate was aware that this request would endanger Matt's life. But Nate's mess

As he lay on the hospital bed, Ed considered his good fortune in being there. By rescuing the Alpha's best friend and his children, he had won his trust. Caiden promised him safety and a place to live, for which he would be eternally thankful. When the door of the doctor's office opened that morning, it was bitterly cold, and a gust of wind entered, filling Ed's nose with the scent of werewolves. He didn't bother opening his eyes since he thought the doctor was coming in. His ribs hurt, though, and he bolted out of bed as soon as he heard Cornelius' voice."Hello, Ed," he said, his eyes trembling."How are you in this pack?" Ed's voice trembled, revealing his dread for his life. "How did you find me?""It wasn't too tough." Cornelius answered. "As I am Alpha Caiden's friend.""I know Caiden wouldn't do that to me." Ed felt as though his heart would burst from his chest and his mouth dried up."But Caiden wasn't the one who gave me your location." With an air of composure, as if he wer

Jessie gave the man in front of her a nod. He smelled so strong it was nearly too much for her to bear. But even though she was sick to her stomach, she forced a smile and walked up to the man.He gave a cold shoulder in return. Wearing combat boots caked in dry mud that tracked filth everywhere it went, he sported a checkered shirt. She studied the human for a moment, whose name escaped her, then turned to pretend not to be overwhelmed and smiled at Caiden."Caiden, why is this man here?" Within the pack, a rule stated that unless the Alpha himself disclosed it, no human visitor could be aware that the city was home to werewolves. Everyone had to pretend to be normal as a result.Caiden suppressed a deep impulse to punish Jessie at that moment. His thoughts was still troubled by the accused's remarks. The mastermind behind the quadruplets kidnapping was Jessie. "Matt is a detective in the city and a very good friend of Nate's." Then he had to close his eyes and take a deep breath. "H

When Kamara finally made it to the pack, she was taken aback by how much was going on. Caiden was welcomed with open arms by all, and she was no different. She refused to let another second pass before resolving their differences since she had been waiting too many days for this. The children were holding on to her skirt as she walked there. In addition, she had trouble getting through the front door, but security let her in right away."Miss Kamara, the Alpha is meeting with Alpha Stourin from the Mystic Moon pack," Oscar said with a big smile. She sighed in frustration and said, "Okay, I'll wait.""I will be defying an edict from Alpha Caiden if I permit this." He took Kamara by surprise. "You may go in; he gave the order for you and the children to be permitted to enter the main room whenever you please.""Oscar, are you sure?" He nodded, and she gave him a wide, eager look. "If that's the case, I'll ask you to watch the kids while I talk with Caiden. Are you cool with that?"Oscar

Caiden did not want to discuss what had transpired with Jessie. Caiden had not been inside the old house since the day the complete truth about her was uncovered, and he slept in the main building. He would occasionally catch himself thinking about it, the anxiety he experienced about staying there, all by himself, and full of memories. Before long, word of his split from Jessie reached every other pack of wolves. All the young ladies in the several packs, who came from strong families, were eager to mate the alpha who was single at the moment.Something wasn't right when Lisa walked into the room that morning and noticed Caiden sitting on the couch with large dark bags under his eyes."You haven't left this place since Jessie was put in jail."She looked about the room, noting that it wasn't quite as disorganized as it had been that day. "Caiden, what's going on?"After giving Lisa a quick glance and finishing the last swallow of brandy, he got up."I'm not this way because of Jessie,

Caiden did nothing but watch as Nate carried Kamara off. They had a lot on their minds, but Caiden had other things on his mind that needed to be addressed, and one of them was in front of him."Did the Alpha stay to hear my final word?" Enzo gave him a sad, indifferent look. He had clearly been confronted by Kamara's statements. He said, "You are banished from the Moon Howlers pack," but Enzo wasn't shocked. "And I'll make sure no pack on the planet welcomes you into their ranks if, by some chance, you ever manage to escape from prison."While Jessie whimpered once again, unable to even protect herself, Enzo swallowed hard. Matt was waiting for this moment with great anticipation when he emerged from the prison area.He leaned against the car and watched Caiden do the same, saying, "What occured in there was a tough one. The modest police station was suddenly filled with a heavy quiet. Trying to see how Kamara would respond to Enzo's account, Caiden watched her closely, but she remained silent.Jessie looked at Enzo within the cell, stunned. How far would he go in his quest for vengeance to the point where he would openly lie to Kamara about their own history?"Enzo, what kind of madness is this?" Jessie asked, but her brother seemed dead serious from the look on his face. "Is Kamara really our sister?""I did say she was our sister," he said, clenching his teeth in a vile manner. "She is my sister. Indeed, I have been dealing with this psychosis ever since I learned of our father's adultery."Kamara found it hard to accept this as reality. Her legs began to weaken as well."You're saying this only to cause me pain," Kamara's heart burned in her chest as tears filled her eyes. "My parents loved each other, they would never do such a thing.""Kamara, you were only a child when they passed away." Enzo s

Jessie, for one, had obviously not come to that realization yet. Alone with herself in a damp, cold confinement like an animal, she had no company except herself. They just allowed Caiden to occupy her mind. Her wolf would not stop howling, and she knew one thing for sure: she could not go on without the greatest love of her life. She heard footsteps hurrying toward her. Her heart skipped a beat at the thought that it might be a remorseful Caiden coming to her aid, but her shocked expression proved she was wrong. When Enzo was pushed inside, he yelled out in agony. Jessie showed contempt for her own brother and did nothing to assist him. She secretly thought that he was the only one to blame for her horrible misfortune. If Jessie hadn't given in to his insanity, all of this could have been prevented.Enzo held back, leaning against the wall and feigning not to be in pain when he saw Jessie there. He said, "You're not surprised to see me, are you?" without irony or derision this time.

In the dark jungle, the wolves howled. Nearly all visibility was obscured by a dense mist within a meter's radius. The only thing that Enzo could see clearly was what the moon was shining through the cracks in the trees. He was directed by the sounds and noises of the forest to avoid the impending peril.Following Jessie's capture and humiliation in front of the pack, Enzo was relentlessly pursued. A sizable payment had been offered by Caiden to the hunter who caught his ex-partner's brother. Hunters from all over began looking for the precious fugitive as soon as word got out.Enzo was aware that he wouldn't be able to go very far, especially without somebody to protect or assist him in getting away. When he made the decision to flee, abandoning Jessie in pursuit of his irrational retribution, he had sealed his doom. There would be no mercy or revenge now.He hurried through the dark woodland, desperate to get away, and stumbled into a trap. Caiden had no time to be sorry. Lisa was worried about him, but the alpha was preoccupied with distracting himself from the pain of realizing that his wife had deceived him. He still had thoughts and pleasant recollections of a life he had shared with Jessie, so it was obvious that it hurt. But he'd made up his mind not to feel bad. He prepared to leave for the Full Moon pack in order to see his kids, packing his little luggage. He had to go on because of the children. Only a few hours had passed since Alpha Cornelius' departure, and Caiden was already tracing his steps back."Are you sure you'll be fine?" Lisa was concerned. "Mom, I'm okay," he said, giving her a tender hug. "It's going to be a quick journey. I'll be back before morning." He cast a sorrowful glance into her eyes. "I'm so sorry, Caiden," she said, kissing his cheek. "You're not supposed to feel bad." He remarked, moving aside. "You were the only one who warned me that Jessie wasn't the best choice for me."
