141. The truth

Even though Kamara was in such pain, Enzo was relieved that it wasn't finished yet. He was going to relish every tear she cried. With an unfathomable coldness, he turned to face away and prepared to walk away.

She murmured in a shaky voice, "Enzo, wait. Why do you detest me so much? How have I hurt you?"

Enzo didn't look at her since he was unable to respond to her while maintaining eye contact with Kamara.

"You were born, Kamara. Your existence." he said, but his answer just made matters worse by saying, "I'm sure you'll agree with me when the time comes."

Kamara realized that Enzo intended to return and inflict more pain on her, as evidenced by his quick retreat.

Kamara stood there motionless, as if she didn't want to move. She stood there thinking, remembering everything that Enzo had said to her.
