136. Take the blame

When Jessie heard Caiden's voice, she stopped running toward Enzo's hiding place through the streets of the pack. They were fighting about the night Kamara's parents were murdered, but Jessie had to put herself in a different place so Caiden wouldn't smell her and find out she was there. She waited for Caiden to go for a long while while hiding in the bushes. She started sprinting towards Enzo again, like her life depended on it, as soon as the alpha left.

"You would have met your beloved alpha if you had arrived one minute earlier." Jessie was usually annoyed by Enzo's remarks, but she was too worried to respond to his provocations.

She gasped, "I have something more important to say. I'm sure Caiden didn't let you know that Nate is going to the human town to look into the kidnapers of the quads."
