Chapter 09

* Dorian's POV *

I watched as Luna Daciana walked away and then I turned my gaze back to Ashina who was staring at me with a raised brow.

" So? What's your choice? " She asked, looking directly and straight into my eyes.

" Ashina.. you can't blackmail him into doing this for your selfish reasons. It's not right. Help us if you wanna do so without including all this " Caddel said and Ashina rolled her eyes.

" Y'all don't know what extent I had to go to, to get this. And either way Dorian is going to get married to me, so it's not called blackmailing. It's just a means of hastening things " She said and looked away from my gaze.

Caddel and Kaden turned to me at once, waiting for my reply.

I turned my back against them and then sighed silently.

" Ashina, I appreciate you trying to help us out but unfortunately, we wouldn't be taking any help rendered to us by your kingdom. We are going to figure this out ourselves. You all may leave, I need some privacy " I said and climbed the tread board to go sit on my throne.

I settled on my throne and then shut my eyes. I heard them all leaving and the palace's door closed until I opened my eyes and then Ashina was staring directly at me.

I sat down properly and raised my brows. " You have a thing to say to me? " I asked.

" No, do you have a thing to say to me? " She asked, and I could see she was staring at me annoyingly.

" Ashina, we should discuss this later. Right now, I need to clear my head " I said and she scoffed angrily.

" You don't wanna get married to me? " She asked, disappointment obvious in her voice.

" I never promised you marriage, did I? " I asked with a raised brow.

" It doesn't matter if you promised or not! We both know you're in love with me and I am too, so let's just get married okay!? We will get married! Everyone wants us to get married! " She raised her voice brokenly.

" Ashina. " I sighed frustratedly.

" You're not going to abandon me right? Dorian, I rejected my mate for you! " She shouted.

" Ashina, I never asked you to do so.. "

" Stop it! Stop those words coming out of your mouth! Dorian, it's been ten years already, ten years since you were supposed to meet your mate but it didn't happen and that only means one thing. you have no mate. So why not stop getting your hopes high and get married to me? You are mateless.. "

My eyeballs twitched immediately, changing colors and my wolf howled in my head. " Leave! " I said sternly, glaring at her.

" I'm sorry " She apologized in fear and then rushed out immediately in tears.

I snapped my eyes closed, trying to switch back my eyeballs to normal. Releasing a long sigh, I opened my eyes and they were back to normal.

" You deserve whatever humiliation you're facing right now, you deserve this " My wolf chanted in my head and I shut it off immediately.

Yeah, I deserve it, I know.

** Daciana's POV **

" She got the cure from a witch? " I asked to be sure I had heard the right thing and Dolph nodded.

" But I was unable to see the witch's face. There was a big heavy dark aura surrounding her, preventing me from seeing her face " He said.

" I don't care about that anyways. I have gotten what I wanted to know " I said and he nodded.

" Is there anything I should do now? " He asked.

" We don't have to find out what happened that day with the puddings since we found a cure already. Get that potion from her by every possible means without her knowing, we have to find out if truly it's the cure " I said and he nodded.

" Report to me once you've gotten a hold of it, " I said and he bowed before vanishing out of sight.

I smirked and then played with my long fingernails. I'm almost getting there. We're almost getting there, I can feel it.

Alpha Dorian is going to lose all respect, he's going down, and his doom is near. A hysterical laugh let out from my mouth in victory.

* Later In The Evening *

" What'd you think? " Dolph asked as he dropped the jar before me.

I accessed it with my eyes and without touching it, I smiled in accomplishment.

" Yeah, it's real. This potion would cure them " I said and his look changed to a surprised one.

" The witch really must be a powerful one " He muttered and I nodded and then realization hit me.

" Getting cures for diseases is impossible unless one knows the cause of the disease or what the illness is... " I trailed off and his eyes widened.

" Do you mean? "

" Not really but maybe. Either the witch is the cause or she made enquires like we were about to. " I said and then clicked my tongue.

" We would also have resulted to this but she was faster," I said and then turned my gaze back to the jar.

" So, what should I do now? " Dolph asked and a smirk appeared on my lips.

I stretched my right hand forward and blue flames emerged from it and a similar jar appeared.

" Here " I handed it over to him.

" Replace it with this, " I said.

" What's this going to do? "

" The opposite of this " I pointed to the original jar sitting on the floor and he raised his brows.

" They.. "

" Just do as I say and trust me " I cut him off and he nodded.

" Take the door," I said when I noticed he was about vanishing and he raised his brows.

" The guard is waiting to trail your movement, this will be a good one for us, " I said and he nodded with a smirk before walking out of the lounge through the door.

I smirked and then settled down comfortably, crossing my legs on each other.

Things are going according to plan. My thoughts snapped back to the witch. Who's She? A powerful witch?...

But then, very disturbing thoughts crossed my mind. Why can't I get into Dorian's head?

It can't be. I should try again. I sat up properly and then shut my eyes, ready to cross into his head but once again, I was blocked out.

I shut my eyes disturbingly. What's wrong? Is he? Does he possess magical powers?

* Dorian's POV *

I turned to Caddel and Kaden and they also had their gaze on mine as Conri reported how his trail on Luna Daciana's guard went.

" You sure you saw him sneaking in and out of Ashina's room? " Caddel asked surprisingly and he nodded.

" Trust me, I did. I only didn't confront him 'cause you asked me to stay lowkey " He responded and I glanced at Caddel confusedly.

" Did you see him go in to take anything, did he come out with anything? " Kaden asked and he shook his head.

" No he didn't, he went in empty-handed and came out empty handed " He replied.

" Do you think he probably didn't see what he was looking for? " Caddel asked me and I shrugged my shoulders.

" I don't know, but this means a thing. Luna Daciana is here for something, but what is it? Since that guard is working for her. What does she want? " I asked no one.

" Do you think we should confront her? " Caddel asked but I shook my head.

" We have no proof " I replied." I wanna know what she wants first " I continued.

" Continue trailing her guard. Seems he's the one who executes the plans on her behalf " I said and Conri nodded.

" But what does she wants with Ashina? " Caddel asked worriedly.

" That, I don't know too. " Kaden muttered.

" Unless Ashina has something she wants? " I said unsurely.

" Like? " Caddel asked.

" I don't know. We have to inform Ashina about this too. She should be alert and on guard. Her lounge should be locked always. And every one of you should be on alert too and be prepared for the worst. " I turned to Conri.

" Always be extra careful and ensure that you never get caught," I said and he nodded.

I sighed frustratedly. What's happening? What does she want?
