Three : The New Alpha

I reached for the alarm clock that kept bugging me in my sleep and tapped it hard. It didn't stop so I grabbed it and threw it away making it hit the wall and fall to the floor, breaking at the process. Laughter boomed in my room and I hurriedly got up, readying myself in case of an attack.

I saw Sam leaning on my door, his hands on top of his head, surrendering. "I came here to wake you but I don't want to be like that poor alarm clock of yours and I don't want to be hit by you again, you still left a mark on my jaw from yesterday." He stated defensively. I burst into laughter as I threw a pillow towards him. He easily caught it and threw it back at me. I caught it on time just to be tackled by Sam as he started tickling the side of my curve. I laughed out loud.

"Sam! S-stop! S-stop!" I tried to push him out but he was stronger than me. We both laughed harder when someone cleared their throat. We met the grinning face of Rose and Jake and a blushing Alicia standing at my doorway. I fixed my hair as it got messy and Sam fixed his self and went to his mate.

"Well, morning to you too." I greeted, matching their grins. "Is that how you supposedly wake up your favorite sister, Sammy!" I sent a playful glare at him and he just rolled his eyes. "You are my only sister." He said and I rolled my eyes.

"Breakfast is ready." Alicia said smiling as she tangled herself to Sam. I made an 'Aw' sound at their sweetness.

"Okay love birds, enough with the sweetness, my room might got a lot of ants because of you two. I'm coming. I'm coming." I grinned as she blushed deeper causing us all to chuckle.

I was about to stand up when Rose jumped on top of me causing both of us to fall back on the bed. Our heads bumped on each other and we both whimpered in pain while the others just laughed at us. "Ooh! You're gonna need some ice." Jake said while grinning at us.

Both of us pouted. "You!" I was about to tackle Rose when Earl appeared.

"Alpha Cailly," he greeted and I raised my eyebrow at him while Jake, Sam and Alicia were about to leave.

Jake cleared his throat "Earl will be your beta and Charles will be your gamma." He informed.

"Okay." I composed myself. "Prepare the rogues and give them food. I will be meeting with them in an hour." I said using my alpha voice. He lowered his head. "Of course, alpha." He then excused himself while Rose grinned at me. I rolled my eyes at her.

As we entered the kitchen, Sam and Alicia was already eating their breakfast, every time they take a bite out of their bacon they would exchange a kiss on their lips. I groaned.

"Oh please guys! Give us peace." I pleaded playfully. Alicia buried her face on Sam's neck while Sam gave me a playful glare. I grabbed an apple and walked out of the kitchen. "Wait! Where are you going?" Sam yelled.

"To the visitors from yesterday." I answered taking a bite in my apple. Charles came to my side and and I nodded my head at him.

"Alpha, Earl is waiting for us there." He informed me. "Okay." I answered and took a bite on my apple as we made our way to the cells. It took us ten minutes to walk and as Earl saw us, he opened the door and lead the way.

Two staircase appeared on my vision. The right staircase went downwards, where the harmful prisoners are being held. On the left side, the staircase went upwards. It leads to the holdings cells where there harmless prisoners. We took the stairs that lead us to the holding cells. It looked more like a room than a cell but it had no windows.

It had two doors, the entrance door and the door for the bathroom. We reached the last room on the right wing of second floor. Earl opened the door and I stepped in to see the family having their breakfast. They stopped upon seeing me. Charles took a chair and placed it on the center of the room.

"Continue your breakfast, I'm a bit early than expected, finish your meal. I won't mind." I said as I took a seat. Thanking Charles and then I sent them behind the door, leaving me and the rogues alone. The elder woman offered me a sandwich. I resisted, showing her my apple that's in already half way done and thanked her for the offer.

I finished my apple as soon as they were done with their breakfast. I asked Charles to take their plates out as they settled in front of me. The Alpha's son and his mate were seated on the couch while the parents were seated on the bed. The younger boy stood still.

"We have the whole morning for you all to tell your story. How did you escape if the patrol guards of your pack are tight? How did you reach our boarder without one of your guards noticing you? Where did you stay for the last three weeks being rogues?" I asked.

The Alpha's son took the spotlight and told me their story. I learned that they came from Crescent Moon pack. His father is Alpha Gregory Horan and he met his mate a month ago while they lived on their pack knowing his father will pass the Alpha title when he met his mate but nothing happened. Some of the guards there agreed to help them escape. They stayed in town for the first two weeks and there they searched for a pack to accept them and they decided that our pack is the safest.

"I cannot think of how this pack will survive if the Alpha is a female, I think we should better get going and look for another pack." The Alpha's son named Kevin said in distaste causing me to narrow my eyes at him.

"And what do you mean by that?" I asked using my Alpha voice.

"This pack is the strongest pack in this country, but now that it will be handled by a female, I think you will be the downfall of this pack." He spat and I lunged at him, holding his neck tightly, pushing him back to the wall. I lifted him up and gripped his neck tighter. Earl and Charles entered the room and when they saw the situation, both their faces turned red.

His mate whimpered and begged me to let him go. I threw him in the corner of the room and took deep breath. "Take that bastard to the clearing. I'll show him how weak I am." I spat distaste and smirked. I walked out of the room and calmed my wolf. I walked back to the pack house, entered Sam's office and searched from his files. I smirked when I found what I needed. I grabbed my phone and dialed the number. He picked up on the third ring.

"Alpha Horan of Crescent Moon pack." He said on the other line.

"Good day Alpha Horan. I am Cailly Stryder, the new alpha of Midnight Howler pack." I paused for a while waiting for his reaction.

"How may I help you Alpha Cailly?" He asked politely.

I raised my brow but continued. "I would like to pay a visit to your pack, if you will let me , I would like to have a little conversation to you about how to manage a pack for me to be an effective alpha." I said and lied at the last sentence. Ben thought me how to be an effective alpha if I ever got the chance to be an alpha. I should call him and say thanks. I noted it in my head.

"Of course, it would be my pleasure." He said, cutting me of my thoughts. "When would you like to visit?"

"This afternoon, I guess." I told him.

"Okay then. I shall inform my guards for your upcoming arrival."

"Thank you Alpha Horan." I bid him goodbye and ended the call.

I stood up from my chair and was about to leave when Sam entered, His face indicating he was mad, not just mad but furious. I marched towards him worried.

"What happened Sam? Is there something wrong?" I asked, worried.

"Is it true?!" He yelled.

"What do you mean 'it's true'." I raised my right eyebrow at him while feeling confused.

"I just called uncle Ben and he accidentally mentioned something. Is it true that you were attacked by rogues the day I called you?" He asked, worried plastered in his once calm face. I gulped nervously.

"Answer me, Cailly!" He demanded and I flinched. "Y-yes?" I answered and it sounded like a question.

"How many were they?"

"I wouldn't like to know if I were you." I said nervously.

"How many are they?!" He repeated.

"You really want to know?" I prolonged.

He nodded, his eyes turning black.

"Uhm, T-ten?" I stuttered and he clutched on my shoulders tight, I winced but didn't say anything.

"Ten? Ten rogues attacked you?" He asked in a low but stern voice. I suddenly couldn't find my voice, I nodded as for my answer.

He then let go of me and grabbed his desk and threw it on the other side of the room. It met the bookshelves and the table broke in to two, while the bookshelf fell, the books scattering everywhere. He then took the sofa and flipped it over. I watched him in horror, wide eyed and my mouth open. His eyes were pitch black and he was about to shift. I held him tight in his shoulder.

"Sam! Sam! Please calm down!" I hugged him tightly.

"Calm down?! How can I calm down?! You almost got killed! And I wasn't there to protect you! I'm  your brother! I should be the one protecting you but I wasn't  there!" He then hugged me tight, as if his life depending on it. I hugged him back, whispering sweet nothings to him making him calm down. He buried his face to the crook of my neck, breathing deeply.

"I am fine. I killed them all, you should be proud of me." I joked, trying to lighten the mood and he chuckled. I let out a sigh of relief.

"I just don't want to lose you like the way we lost mom and dad. I can't bare to lose you. Not again and not on the same situation. I hated myself that time because I was late, I didn't have the chance to save mom and dad."

"But you came to save me that day." I cooed. "You're my hero, you will always be my hero, Sam." I hugged him tight.

He hugged me tighter, running his hand to my back, soothingly. "I'm so proud of you, baby girl." I rolled eyes at him. "Sure you are big brother." I mocked and we both laughed.

"I bet you still have something to do? The pack members filled the clearing and a man was standing at the center." He grinned.

"Oh yeah. That jerk said that I will be the downfall of this pack, I just wanted to show him how 'weak' I am." This time he rolled his eyes. "I swear I will not go to your bad side, although I already tasted how it hurts being hit with you." He smirked making me laugh.

We walked out to the room and outside the pack house together, his arm around my shoulder. "Who would've thought that a beautiful girl with an angelic face can kick an ass, real hard." He said making me laugh once more.

"There's the saying 'Don't judge the book by it's cover'."

We reached the clearing where more pack members were looking at the culprit. I chuckled. They parted like the red sea and gave way while Earl came to my side. "He's such a hard-headed boy." He snickered and I shrugged. "He'll regret it later."

I walked towards the man, standing in front of him and he smirked.

"Took you long enough. Did the baby hide and asked for some ego booster from her granny?" I smirked while a loud growl from Sam was heard.

"I don't need to ask for an ego booster, pup. Let's just say I had to talk to the Alpha of the Crescent Moon pack letting him know that his stupid son is here." I said as his eyes widened.

"I, Kevin Horan challenge you Alpha Cailly Stryder in a fight for the alpha title"

Gasps were heard around the members. I grinned.

"Challenge accepted. This match will only be done once one is on the brink of death." I said with smug look on my face.

"Challenge accepted." He said.

"Would you like to be the first move?" I suggested.

"That's your biggest mistake, bitch." He smirked as he lunged at me, shifting in the process.

"Surely not." I snorted. Dodging his attack, he lunged at me again and tackled me to the ground, him on top of me. I can already picture him smirking, I grinned.

"Wrong move." I grab his fore leg and twisted it around, a cracking sound brought a grin to my face while he yelped. He stumbled away from me and getting the chance, I grabbed his hind leg and flipped him over as he winced in pain. I closed my fist and hit him in the stomach, he flew a few miles away from me, unconscious. Psh.

"Take him back to his mate" I ordered. They all cheered and was beaming at me. I walked towards Sam. A wide grin was plastered in his face.

"Quiet a show there?" He grinned

"No sweat." I said and he chuckled.

I called out for Earl and Charles through mind-link to meet me in front of the pack house.

"I'm leaving. I will be taking Earl and Charles with me. I'm going to meet Alpha Horan." I informed Sam and he nodded. "Take care, okay?" He said whilst pinching my cheek, I yanked my face away.

Earl and Charles were patiently waiting for me in front of the car. A black SUV. Earl opened the back door and I sat down while he sat down in the passenger's seat. Charles then sat down and started the engine. I bid goodbye to Sam before allowing Charles to drive to Crescent Moon pack.
