Six : Sorrow and Smiles

I woke up feeling numb all over my body, rubbing my eyes, wiping my sleepy eyes and roamed my eyes around me.

I am still lying down on the floor. That's explain my numbness. I crawled up to the soft sofa near me and lay my back on it. Repeating the scene that had happened.

His future wife and luna.

I feel my eyes water at the last words. I feel my heart skipped, I bit back my sob.

He didn't caught my scent, it's because I hid it fast, it takes a lot of concentration to masked my scent. And thanks to his girls arousal. It helps me to hid it too.

Then it repeats the image of their intimate position.

My wolf howl in agony, I tried to soothe her by assuring her that everything will be alright.

"He didn't wait for us, why he didn't wait for us." She cried out. I let out a sob.

"Maybe because it took us too long to come back."

"You left when he first shift! He should know that you're his mate!" She yelled, hurting.

"I don't have you yet with me that time, Aleck. Wolf meet their mate if both of them have their wolf. It's alright please. Calm down." I pleaded.

"His my Mate! His mine!" She screamed, whimpered.

"He's our mate." I said in a low voice.

A knock on my door bring me back to reality. I caught his scent. I focused in hiding my scent. I walk toward my bag and get my cologne. Spraying the cologne all over my clothes and to my room before I walk towards the door and unlock it.

I walk back to my bed and take a seat on the edge. He entered, smiling. I smiled at him as much as I manage to smile.

"Ai." He greeted smiling.

"Ai." I nodded.

He was about to pull me in a hug but I jerked him away. His forehead creased in a knot. "Uhm, your fiance might got jealous." I reasoned out, looking away from him.

I don't want him to touch me, he'll feel the electricity of our mate bond. The pull towards us get strong if he touched me. I won't let him know that I am hid mate if he's getting married in a week.

My wolf scowl at me. Ignoring her.

"She won't, I told her about you, come on! You are my best friend."

Aw! Friend zone.

I shook my head. 'No.' "You don't know what girls thinks. They may say 'it's okay' but deep inside it is not." I stated putting air quote for 'it's okay'

He grinned. "You really are a grown up woman than before, but still. You are still that angelic face I used to know, you grew up more beautiful than I imagine." I blushed in his word, my wolf yelped in joy. I didn't see him coming, he pinched the tip of my nose, a shiver spread in my spine, my heart beat fast than normal. I step back, a good five steps away from him. He was standing still, his eyes in his hand. I gulped nervously.

He turn to look at me and about to speak when Rose barge in my room. I sigh in relief when stalk towards me. Her eyes confused as she looks at me then at Calix.

"Alpha Calix" She greeted, he snapped back in his senses and look at Rose.

"Ms. Blaine." He greeted back, he looks at me again.

"That's nothing, you know. We didn't see each other for the very long time, it's just a reaction maybe?" I tried to reasoned. He stares at me, checking me before he nodded.

"I think I have to go?" He said, hesitated.

"Uhm. Yeah? Bye." I said nervously.

He didn't move in his place when Rose speak.

"Cai, Dalton asked if you would like to join us for breakfast or I just bring you food here? Are you okay now?" She asked at me.

I cleared my throat, "I think I'll join you!" I answered.

She tug me in her arms and pull me outside my room.

"I think you owe me an explanation." She said thru mind-link

"Am I?" I asked innocently

She rolled her eyes, Shrugging my shoulder.

We reached the kitchen to see Dalton and Karissa, the former Alpha and Luna of this pack, but now, it's Calix and Athena. I gave them a curt nod at them. I saw Earl and his mate, I took a seat beside Rose, where her mate on the other side.

Karissa gave me a plate with pancakes, I thanked her and accept it when a young girl show up and walks towards me and her bright smile makes me smile too.

"Hello Luna!" She greeted me. My eyes widen in shock.

"I- ah I--" I stuttered.

"She's not our Luna, Charisha. But she's an alpha in her own pack." Calix stated, entering the kitchen, he stalk toward his girl. I smile sadly.

Charisha gave me a confused look.

"Athena is your future luna, Rishy." Calix added. My wolf whimper in my head.

I smile at Charisha, caressing her hair.

"But she's my luna!" Charisha stated, no rooms for arguments and wrap her tiny arms around my head. I shook my head.

"She's just a kid, she'll understand when she grew up." I said when I saw Athena saddened then she smiles understanding.

"I'm a big girl already!" Charisha protest and pouted, making me laugh.

"Sure you are. And sure you're so cute. Don't you know that?" I said, smiling sweetly at her. She giggled.

"Can we play?" She asked.

I turn around them, they all have smile in their faces but Calix, staring at me intently. I look away from his gaze, not meeting his gaze. "Sure. Let's go?" I asked Charisha. She jump on her seat and pull me out of the room. Rose came beside me.

"Can I come too?" She asked at Charisha. She nodded happily.

Rose gave me a stern look saying 'explain' I shrugged my shoulders at her and let Charisha dragged me in her room.

We started playing her barbies', and we act as the disney princess for almost the whole day until she fell asleep. I tucked her under the cover of her bed. Rose gentle face her teddy bear beside her, once she's placed comfortably. Rose dragged me in a couch and started firing me question.

"Why did you masked your scent?" She started.

"I just want too?" I state more on a question.

"Did you find your mate? Is he the alpha?" I gasps hardly and cover her mouth.

"Y-yes."

"I knew it!" She snapped.

"You'll wake her up! Shut it!" I scowl at her pointing at the sleeping little princess.

"Ooppss! Sorry." She said taking her seat beside me. "So, what are going to do? You know you can't masked your scent forever."

"At least for a week?" I said. She rolled her eyes.

"You know, you will be experiencing heat anytime now that you meet your mate." She announced.

"I know. And I wish it won't come sooner." I stated sadly. She patted my back.

"Why don't you just claim him that his your mate?" She suggested. I shake my head.

"Try to see his eyes every time it lit up from happiness when he saw Athena. It broke my heart every time I saw how he love her so much. I can't take it away from him just to be stock with me. Besides, I have a pack to lead to."

"But his your mate!" She retorted.

"I know." I let out a heavy sigh

"Who's your mate?" Calix voice boomed in the room. We both snapped our head on his direction. He was leaning against Charisha's door frame. My eyes widen, Rose cleared her throat.

"No one, Alpha Calix." She answered in her normal voice while me on the other hand still shock. I gulped nervously.

"Since when did you came?" I asked, taking a deep breath. "You almost give me a heart attack."

He chuckle. "Not so long, I just heard the word. 'His your mate' and 'I know' then nothing." I nodded, sighing in relief.

"I met my mate on the way here yesterday, but unfortunately his married." I lied.

He frowned. "He didn't wait for you? It his lost for not waiting for you. Is he an alpha too?" He stated.

Rose said. "That's what I said, it's the bastard lost for not waiting for her, Cailly here is a good catch." She said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes at her.

"He's just a normal wolf. If his happy then I am happy for him. I don't mind." I gave them a sad smile. I rose in my seat and stalk towards the exit.

"He doesn't deserve you then, you will meet someone who deserve you than your mate." Calix said behind me. I bit back my sob and nodded. Making my way to my room.
