Chapter Fifty

After the dinner, Kelsey saw Kate and Janet out of the mansion. She returned to the living room and fell on her face on the couch. She was anxiously waiting for Dennis to arrive. There were dozens of thoughts running through her mind. She was nervous, scared and sad. She couldn't tell which of her feelings was outweighing the other at that moment.

"And why are you lying that way?" came Denni's voice.

Kelsey immediately turned around and sat up. "I was waiting for you."

"Waiting for me? Is there a problem?"

"Yes, Dennis. There's a huge problem."

"Can I at least freshen up? Or your problem can't wait?"

"No Dennis. We must talk about this issue now." Kelsey insisted.

Dennis took off his necktie and dumped it on the stool. He sat and fixated his gaze on Kelsey. He was rubbing his palms against each other.

"This better be something good."

"Your mom was here." Kelsey began. She heaved a deep sigh and pressed her eyes against each other.

"And?" Dennis asked.

"She wants me to plan this year's
