Aurora’s POVThe world just stopped.I don't know how to explain it further than I already have but it seemed as if someone held onto the time, making everything move in slow motion just like in books and movies and so fall didn't come, instead a pair of hands wrapped themselves securely around my waist, pulling me tightly against their chest. I felt arms encircle my torso, keeping me firmly in place as my head fell against the broad chest in front of me. After regaining my senses, I lifted my head up to meet his gaze which was staring intently at me.I don't know how the soup had managed to survive, and I don't know anything that had happened but it was almost like a miracle. When I stared down at my legs when I felt something warm running down my shin. I knew instantly what happened even before I saw the stain on the floor, the red liquid slowly flowing down under my foot only proved one thing, I had stepped on one of the broken pieces of glass. His gaze travelled down to the pool o
Aurora's POVI pushed my chair backward, ignoring the loud clang it made when it hit the ground, and left, leaving them behind. Sia my wolf was ready to rip off anybody and everybody’s hair, all of their heads, she growled viciously.I was going to leave. To run away and never return. That was the plan. But I couldn't bring myself to move my feet forward from my room, they stayed rooted to the spot, refusing to budge even when the urge to flee overwhelmed me. Every part of my body was yelling at me to escape, to run away from this place but I had seen worse with Alexis and I never thought of running away. But that was the past when I was ready to settle for less when I was drunk In love when I believed in loving him…I didn't want to remember that time, that stupid time that almost ruined everything, not almost, it ruined everything- it ruined me.Now, all I had to do is push it aside and pretend it never happened- I never cared.I wouldn't pretend like I wasn't bothered - a bit both
Aurora’s POVPanic engulfed me in a warm hug that grew tight, almost suffocating as I stared at the man in front of.The hair in my arms stood straight up like spikes, my breath caught in my throat.I could hear my heartbeat racing and I couldn't think, could hardly breathe. I couldn't speak nor move, as I tried to focus solely on his face, which seemed to glow with a light from within. His hair was dark like ink, and shiny. But his eyes, those eyes were cold and danced with mischief and danger. Like liquid ice.I knew those eyes. I had seen them so many times, burning in my nightmares. Eyes that looked deep into yours like they could read your deepest desires. Eyes that screamed chaos, he was looking at me like a cat playing with its food befo devouring it and leaving the bones to crumble underneath the weight of his appetite. I knew those eyes.“Not exactly who you were expecting, am I right?” he murmured amusedly taking in the sight of me, as if he had planned this whole encounter.
Alpha Alexis POVMy demons had come alive in my head, tossing and pushing me around as if I were a slave to them.As if my opinion didn't matter. But I couldn't do anything about it.The demon on the left was always angry with me. He wouldn’t leave me alone. Every time he came back from a trip he would yell at me. And all because of what I told him when we first met. He thought that I lied about his name or something.Did it make any sense to you? Do you understand what I am saying? I can’t explain everything I feel. It isn’t like I see things differently or know better than you or some other person. You don’t know what I saw. What I heard. How things have changed since then. What I think now. They said everyone has demons, but I don’t believe it. No one’s got demons like I do. They just say it that way. Because they want us to be like them. The ones who live inside their heads. They tell us to do whatever they say and then blame us for it later. I hated it!Every bit of it.“Yet he
Alpha Alexis POVI had messed up, I knew I had messed up too bad. I needed to make up for it but where was I going to start from?Where?Anger coursed through my veins as though they were liquid mercury and I had no choice but to let it flow. There was nowhere safe for it to go because all of my anger was directed at myself.I began to punch the wall repeatedly, more than I should have . I knew that the wall didn’t hurt me but the impact did feel good. It made me feel stronger than ever before. It felt like a cathartic release. My knuckles bled profusely and I stopped for a minute when there were small droplets of blood forming on my skin. The wall continued to bleed. More and more with each blow, and after a while it turned into a full body stream of crimson. When the amount reached a certain point, my fists had become covered in blood.“Stop this madness and go after her, else you'll lose her again” my Wolf yelled in my head “stop your self loathing and get off your ass and do some
Aurora's POVI don't know what that was, I couldn't tell if it was a dream or if I imagined it.I wasn't sure about anything at all but whatever that was, it sent shivers down my spine and made my knees shake. And I think my eyes were open. But I can't remember anything after... that. It felt as though someone was watching me, listening to me. Like someone could see through my skin, and hear my thoughts. The room was cold, colder than usual, the wind had picked up again. It blew hard like the wind itself wanted something from inside me. I shivered involuntarily, trying to wrap myself in my blankets for warmth but they didn't do much good anymore. As the moon reflected into my room, I stood up with shaky hands and moved towards my window, pushing back the curtains. My breath hitched when I saw it, and my body trembled violently. What is that? I thought. Why am I seeing this? I closed my eyes tightly but I knew I wouldn't be able to close my ears to its whispers. At the farthest end,
Unknown POVMy plan was to mess up with her head until she couldn't tell the difference between reality and dreams any more. That would get rid of her and maybe give me something in return, I don’t know, but something useful. So I watched as my daughter chanted spells , her fingers moving through the air as if they were guided by some unseen god. It was mesmerizing, so much effort and focus being put into this spell. My daughter’s hair was loose today, long and dark and falling over her shoulders in a thick curtain. When she moved closer to me, I could see how tired she looked. Her face had become pale, almost gaunt. Her eyelids drooped and there were dark circles under them, and that’s when it struck me that maybe this wasn’t a good thing but we had too many unseen enemies and it just made sense to keep her strong, to make her protect herself
Aurora’s POVThe urge for solitude, to take a stroll away from this castle and the surrounding grounds was strong today, especially after seeing how beautiful it was outside - with the sun setting in making everything look even more like art than usual. The sky was cloudless, only the faintest traces of fluffy white clouds drifting lazily across the horizon. It felt like there were so many possibilities out there in the world, where you could explore without any fear of being caught by some unsuspecting predator. And not just any unsuspecting predator. One that had been chasing you as prey for days now. No, for weeks. He had finally found you. You had never seen him before -yet you wanted to pretend that he didn't exist. That it wasn't in your mind, even when you knew it wasn't true. That was exactly how I felt.As I snuck out to the park that was close to the castle, I noticed that there was no one around. There wasn't a soul near, or anywhere close by.This is unusual... but not
