In the midst of Aurora’s tears, I couldn't tell her that the council had mentioned me as a wanted person. I didn't want her to deal with more guilt than she already felt for her mistake. So instead I smiled at her reassuringly and said that I would be back soon to help. That would be enough for now. She was so young, I thought, how could her world have been shattered? But when she saw my expression, her face went pale and she nodded sadly before turning away. I felt like an insensitive fool.
