Aurora’s POV

I had forgotten about Erika. She was the first real friend I had here.

When I first got here, it wasn't long before I knew people didn't like me, the maids would snicker whenever they saw me around, and even those who hadn't disliked me at first, now seemed to be treating me differently. They wouldn't look at me like I was even worth a grain of rice and if they caught me looking at them, they were quick to turn away and act as though I hadn't been there before, or else. I had become so used to it by now, that sometimes my body just moved on autopilot, and I could barely keep track of what was happening.

It had officially been a week since I got there and Alexis never approached me and I was fine with us staying out of each other’s way.

But I always knew I needed to leave this place, everything was driving me crazy.

I had begun to take walks in the garden and surprisingly, no one stopped me but I could swear the guards were paying attention more than they should have been
