Aurora’s POV“Are you okay? I am so sorry” His voice danced as he tried to get me back on my feet.I almost broke down crying.I wanted to get up and wrap my hands around him, I wanted to bury myself in his warmth as his strong arms held onto me.It seemed the most natural thing to do at that moment. My eyes were burning and I could feel hot tears pooling up in them. But I didn’t move a single muscle. The look in his eyes told me enough. He was worried about me.I looked anywhere else, hurt and relieved that he couldn't recognize me. But the hurt was on the higher side. It tugged at the bottom of my soul, making it burn from within.I hated myself for hurting him so much. But did I really hurt him? this question felt like a knife twisting itself deep into my chest. The pain came with all of my memories. I thought about our last encounter before it all came crashing down upon my shoulders like a boulder crushing me into an icy, unforgiving abyss. I remembered every second of the way he
Alpha Alexis POV“You need to slow down Aurora”,” I said as I tried to snatch her wine glass from her and at the same time not make it so obvious. She was already drinking too much and I didn't like it.“What do you mean… I am not drunk, I am fine” She giggled and then downed half of the wine in an attempt to prove it. “And anyway, who are you calling slow”, she said pointing a finger at me “You’re only making me dizzier”“Nobody called you slow Aurora” At this point I was glad that people were not paying attention to us since they were too busy on the dance floor. “You just need some air and to get some rest. Let's go home ”, I told her while I tried to help her stand up.“No!” she protested “You will not convince me by any means to go home with you”, she said and I almost had enough control over my emotions not to laugh when I saw her expression. Her pupils were dilated, her nose red and her cheeks all puffy. She looked drunk but somehow still beautiful despite everything.“Auror
Aurora’s POVHow do I describe that I woke up with a throbbing headache and with the sun threatening to make me blind, I had no choice but to roll over in bed and close my eyes until the throbbing subsided, at least for the moment. I couldn't even find the words to describe my hangover.I only knew it was bad when my eyes stung like they would explode. The thought of doing anything more than lying in bed made me feel even more nauseous. But I knew that as long as I kept my eyes closed and didn’t move, then I’d be fine for now.But I thought wrong and too fast. This is why saying no to alcohol was the best option, I finally understood that.At least Alexis had been there, and he brought me home.Sucker! I thought to myself as that fluttery feelingcame back and I let out an annoyed grunt.“SIA! Stop being funny” I yelled at her.“It has nothing to do with me, it's all you,” she retorted. This time instead of trying to suppress the urge to vomit, I actually felt worse than before, and I
Aurora’s POVSomething was wrong with Alexis. I don't know how to explain it but something had shifted and changed and it was just off.I didn't see him after I woke up, it was as if he had purposely hidden himself from the world. And even after days, I still didn't see him. It was starting to get really strange, and a little frustrating. And it seemed like we were having some sort of silent war going on in my head. I was also lost thinking about whether or not I should go looking for him. When I saw the chief guard, I could no longer hide it. “Where is Alexis- the Alpha” I quickly corrected.I think the chief guard was stunned by my question because he spent what I thought was an eternity staring at me with wide eyes before shaking his head in denial and smiling weakly. “Oh…” He muttered quietly. “The Alpha is in his room, he's just locked up somewhere, keeping himself busy…”I don't know if it was the way the chief guard said that without looking into my eyes or if it was his lack o
Aurora’s POVThe world just stopped.I don't know how to explain it further than I already have but it seemed as if someone held onto the time, making everything move in slow motion just like in books and movies and so fall didn't come, instead a pair of hands wrapped themselves securely around my waist, pulling me tightly against their chest. I felt arms encircle my torso, keeping me firmly in place as my head fell against the broad chest in front of me. After regaining my senses, I lifted my head up to meet his gaze which was staring intently at me.I don't know how the soup had managed to survive, and I don't know anything that had happened but it was almost like a miracle. When I stared down at my legs when I felt something warm running down my shin. I knew instantly what happened even before I saw the stain on the floor, the red liquid slowly flowing down under my foot only proved one thing, I had stepped on one of the broken pieces of glass. His gaze travelled down to the pool o
Aurora's POVI pushed my chair backward, ignoring the loud clang it made when it hit the ground, and left, leaving them behind. Sia my wolf was ready to rip off anybody and everybody’s hair, all of their heads, she growled viciously.I was going to leave. To run away and never return. That was the plan. But I couldn't bring myself to move my feet forward from my room, they stayed rooted to the spot, refusing to budge even when the urge to flee overwhelmed me. Every part of my body was yelling at me to escape, to run away from this place but I had seen worse with Alexis and I never thought of running away. But that was the past when I was ready to settle for less when I was drunk In love when I believed in loving him…I didn't want to remember that time, that stupid time that almost ruined everything, not almost, it ruined everything- it ruined me.Now, all I had to do is push it aside and pretend it never happened- I never cared.I wouldn't pretend like I wasn't bothered - a bit both
Aurora’s POVPanic engulfed me in a warm hug that grew tight, almost suffocating as I stared at the man in front of.The hair in my arms stood straight up like spikes, my breath caught in my throat.I could hear my heartbeat racing and I couldn't think, could hardly breathe. I couldn't speak nor move, as I tried to focus solely on his face, which seemed to glow with a light from within. His hair was dark like ink, and shiny. But his eyes, those eyes were cold and danced with mischief and danger. Like liquid ice.I knew those eyes. I had seen them so many times, burning in my nightmares. Eyes that looked deep into yours like they could read your deepest desires. Eyes that screamed chaos, he was looking at me like a cat playing with its food befo devouring it and leaving the bones to crumble underneath the weight of his appetite. I knew those eyes.“Not exactly who you were expecting, am I right?” he murmured amusedly taking in the sight of me, as if he had planned this whole encounter.
Alpha Alexis POVMy demons had come alive in my head, tossing and pushing me around as if I were a slave to them.As if my opinion didn't matter. But I couldn't do anything about it.The demon on the left was always angry with me. He wouldn’t leave me alone. Every time he came back from a trip he would yell at me. And all because of what I told him when we first met. He thought that I lied about his name or something.Did it make any sense to you? Do you understand what I am saying? I can’t explain everything I feel. It isn’t like I see things differently or know better than you or some other person. You don’t know what I saw. What I heard. How things have changed since then. What I think now. They said everyone has demons, but I don’t believe it. No one’s got demons like I do. They just say it that way. Because they want us to be like them. The ones who live inside their heads. They tell us to do whatever they say and then blame us for it later. I hated it!Every bit of it.“Yet he
