Rex's POV.
"Good morning, Rex. Is there any good news?" Alice asked the moment she picked the call. "Good news?" I chuckled softly. "Do you think Elena would easily let me back into her life?" I scowled. "I saw her yesterday but then, I could tell she wasn't happy seeing me and she took the kids away from me." I responded as I arranged my hair. "What else do you expect? You caused this. I warned you from the beginning. Better don't get back here without my beautiful daughter in-law and her two little, adorable kids." She said in a threatening tone. "Kanu and Kiana." I muttered with a smile as I had flashbacks of them. "What!?" She asked in a confused tone. "Oh! She named them Kanu and Kiana." I answered with a smile on my face. "They are just 4 years old, and they look too big and healthy." I muttered. It was something beautiful and I wished I had watched them grow this big and smart. It was obvious that she was perfectly fine without me. "And how do you intend to get her back?" Alice asked through the phone. There was no answer to that exactly. I gulped in my saliva as I sipped a little water. "How do I intend to get them back? I… maybe through the kids." I stuttered. I wasn't sure if it was going to work out but then, I just had to give it a try. "Well, all I am concerned about is that you bring back my daughter in-law and grandchildren. I will handle the company here. And don't forget to keep in touch with me, young man." She scowled before ending the call. "Here it is." Clark walked in, dropping a brown small envelope on the table. I hurriedly opened it as I took out the paper inside containing every little detail about them. I couldn't slack behind now even if I was in Kingston. I had sent Clark to trace her down to her house, and also, get me the name of the school my kids attend, where she works, where she goes when she wants to get her groceries as well and also to get me some information on who the lady she was with from yesterday. I wanted to know every little detail about her. And most especially, protect my kids. The moment their identity gets known, they will attract so many enemies and that was why I was here and also to bring them back to my pack where they would be safe. "New Kingston Preliminary School." I recited it out as I perused the direction from my newly bought apartment to the school. I frowned as I saw they were attending a public school and not a private, big school. I tilted my lips as I looked at every little detail and also, taking notes of schools and places around. “What? Why that face?” Clark snapped as he looked at the paper-like map. “Why couldn't she take them to a private school? These public schools harbor bullies and they pay little or no attention to the child.” I frowned. “That is you just being over protective, Rex.” He shrugged as he looked away. "What do you plan on doing next?" Clark questioned as he sat down next to me. I ignored him as I perused the direction to her house. I smirked as I saw we weren't far from each other, it was just an hour drive. "Rex?" Clark called out to me as he rolled his eyes. "I hope you are not planning anything stupid?" He questioned as he looked at me. ""Anything stupid?" I furrowed my eyebrows as I locked my eyes with his. "How come her employment field is empty?" I asked, wearing a long face now. "Currently, she is a stay at home mom of your assumed kids." He snapped. "But, I have someone around her apartment, she will keep us updated on her movements." He muttered. "Good!" I briefly said as I got up. I had Clark know every single detail about their school. When they open for the day, if they have visiting hours and also when they close for the day. And most importantly, I searched for good restaurants as well. They were my kids and I was ready to do anything for them. "Is there any other thing I need to know which isn't here?" I asked Clark as I wrapped the paper neatly. "Uhmm yes. I think you should not try being so romantic. That will be really embarrassing." He chuckled softly. I sighed as I returned back to my room. I neatly arranged my hair in its wavy style as I picked the best outfit in my wardrobe. I wore my black turtle neck top and a black tailored black coat and a well fitted black trouser and a newly acquired black shoe I got from one of the biggest brands in New Kingston when I came back. "Huh? Why are you dressed up this way like you are going for some serious meetings?" Clark shook his head. "I have to look attractive." I responded quickly in defense. "Attractive? Hell no, you look like some hardened Mafia boss. Who exactly are you going to see? Elena or the kids? If it's the kids, trust me, you'll scare them." Clark scoffed as he chuckled. I ignored him as I walked away, picking up the car key that hung directly next to the door. “Are you seriously going to wear that?” He pressed on as he looked at me. “How else do you expect me to dress? I need to give them this impression that with me in their life, they could never get hurt.” I scowled as I looked at my wrist watch. “They don't even know who you are? Why would they think that?” He snapped. “I am their friend. Yes. Just let me do my thing, Clark and please, stop interfering.” I sighed, rolling my eyes as I opened the door.I arrived a few minutes before the school closure for the day as I remained inside the car, scanning the environment with my eyes like I was expecting something to go wrong. And the few minutes felt like hours already as I was growing impatient already. I just couldn't wait to set my eyes on my two little adorable pups. "Hello, little angels." "No, hell no!" I shrugged as I marched the car brake aggressively. "That's boring." I said to myself as I started all over again."Hey, Kanu and Kiana, you both look magnificent in your uniforms. How was school today?" I rehearsed again as I smiled.I repeated different lines as I looked at the mirror at the top of the car."So, your mummy said I can drive you both home and from today, I will be your new driver." I went further."Okay, this is weird now!" I cursed as I slapped my cheeks lightly and shook my head. "Is that how bad of a father you will be?" I shrugged disappointedly as I dragged my cheeks apart in frustration. "Okay, take a d
Elena's POV."What do you mean by you “calling in and saying they are not in school?" Marie screamed at the top of her voice as she looked at me."I just spoke with Mr. Heather and he said a man introduced himself as my brother, and he said he was going to drive them home." I responded as my heart raced fast.I just couldn't find a better positive explanation for this. I couldn't let any harm come to my little angels. "How could Mr. Heather be that careless? Why didn't he call in to confirm if the man's story was actually true? How could he just give out your kids to a complete stranger?" Marie growled angrily. Her heart also raced fast and wild as she paced about in the room. "I don't want any harm to come near my godchildren else, I will break hell loose." She panicked even more."They are an hour late." I whimpered as I stood upright, my eyes fixed on the wall clock and I knew absolutely nothing to do. "What proof did the stranger even show Mr. Heather to make him give my little
Rex's POV."What do you want from us, Rex? Leave me and my kids alone, please!!" I could still hear her voice in my head as I drove down to the park where I first saw her and my kids when I arrived in New Kingston.I could feel the hatred she had towards me and right now, if there was anything that ran through my head was leaving New Kingston for good and never bothering her anymore."She was probably good without me." I muttered as I punched my steering wheel so hard. "Darn it!! Darn it!!" I cursed as tears blurred my vision. I just couldn't believe that she could ever raise her hand on me. She was never this way. This isn't the Elena I knew five years back. My heart ached badly as it felt like I should just end whatever pain I was feeling right now by pushing my hand inside my chest and pulling out my heart. I came to New Kingston with high hopes of getting back my fated mate, my wife and Luna, who I had stupidly sent out for my treacherous ex who never loved me but was only th
Clark's POV. "You don't expect me to easily believe you when you say you are fine, Rex." I snapped as I looked at him. "How do you expect me to explain that you left yesterday around 2p.m to go pick up your kids and throughout yesterday, no calls and not even a single text from you. And you expect me to buy your "I'm fine?" I scoffed as I tilted my lips.He furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at me for a while, like he was contemplating something. But then, being a werewolf was also limited. Without him letting me read his mind, I just couldn't sit across the table and hear his thoughts aloud and, right now, I wished that was possible. I frowned as he ignored me, lowering his head again as he continued with his breakfast. I screamed frustratingly as I got up. I hate being left out. "I am your beta, Rex and I deserve to know everything that goes on in your life." I snapped, trying to get him to talk to me."Hmm." He growled lightly as he raised his head again. And just as before,
Elena's POV.I had gotten a new job in one of the biggest hotels in New Kingston. It was owned and controlled by a powerful werewolf family here in Kingston and, after the CEO died, his two sons took over the family business. His daughter recently got wedded into a different pack, a powerful pack as well. And I worked in the resort section. In the beach area. New Kingston was a place that welcomed a large number of tourists every month, which meant that it was definitely a great business and also, my salary for two months could help me pay up my house rent, which was already two months due. Marie also worked in the resort section. To be more precise, we were among the bartenders. "Wow, there is definitely no way I'm getting into a fight here!" Marie chuckled softly as she pinched my arm, making me yelp."I know you, Marie." I scoffed, rolling my eyes as I continued arranging my next order. Marie and I worked closely together. That way, we could avoid getting into any sort of troub
Rex's POV.I remained indoors for a week against my wolf's wish. All I did was pay absolutely no attention to how she was coping or even making an attempt to go find out where she was now working and where exactly it was located.Clark had informed me about her new role in one of the biggest hotels in New Kingston and I remember lodging there years back before we separated.I yearned to see my two little adorable pups but then, she made it clear to me, she wanted me away from her and her children and there was absolutely no way I was going back again.I groaned as I laid on my bed. For a complete week now, I remained indoors and all I did was eat, sleep, shower, do an hour of exercise in my room and play Rubik's cube. That was more comforting as I had lost interest in watching any movie or even browsing the web. It was hard staying away but then, I was still trying to heal from the last day we saw. My head kept replaying the slap and how she pointed at me, strictly warning me to lea
Elena's POV. It was a week and a day now, making it eight days without setting my eyes on Rex. It was the weekend as well, and I was going to be having the night shift.Kanu and Kiana wouldn't stop asking about Rex. And it was such an adorable name to give the man who they least expected to be their biological father. Kiana preferred calling him "Chocolate friend" because he had bought them chocolates for them the different times he had met them. Maybe if they could stop talking about him and asking about him, it would have been easier for me to forget about him again, but no, they kept on talking about him."What was so special about him? Was it just the natural bond that couldn't be destroyed no matter the years of being apart? I scowled as I scrunched down to their height."Mummy will be going to work tonight, so I will be dropping you both at her house, okay?" I said with a smile on my face as they both smiled back at me. I loved how jovial they were always. Without them in my
It was just like they were hosting a jamboree on the beach. The whole place was properly lit and the hotel was probably a 20 storey building. We drove past the hotel as we parked the car at the parking lot and then took the wooden bridge that led us to the beach area."I thought you said she worked in the hotel? Why don't we just eat in the restaurant where I can see her instead of coming to this noisy place?" I queried as he led the way. "You know, when I said she worked in the hotel, I actually meant she worked in the beach." He said, shining his teeth as he looked at me and then, tilting his lips too. I scanned the beach. It was filled with people, and I could tell they were more than half of werewolves here too.It was a pretty long walk to the bar and an annoying one too because of how crowded it was."Hello, handsome?" A young lady rested her hand on my chest as she bit her lower lip and then, licking it too. As we walked down through the crowded area, I did a pretty great j
Rex's POV.“So, what's your next plan? It's obvious that she doesn't want you back. I think she's still healing from your betrayal.” Clark said as he sat down on the couch next to me.“It's been five years, Clark. And if I never cared, why am I here? Why am I in New Kingston when I have a multimillion empire to worry about?” I sighed as I relapsed on the couch.“You don't expect her to throw herself on you, Rex!!” Clark furrowed. “You have to earn it.”“Earn what exactly!?” I snapped in annoyance and frustration. “You have to earn her trust. You have to at least earn a little of her love and with that, maybe you could be able to convince her to return to Cleveland, to the pack.” He responded as he sipped the coffee in front of me.“Are you being serious right now?” I got up on my feet as I stared sternly at him. “Are you aware that she doesn't even give me the space I need to be able to prove to her that she's the reason I returned to New Kingston?” I sighed as I got up from the cou
Elena's POV.I had come to a conclusion and that was, 'there was absolutely no way I was returning back to Cleveland and to Rex's pack as well.' When I secretly left the pack five years ago, I had to go through so many difficulties and as well as having a hard time being an expecting mother and luckily for me, God had sent Marie my way. I looked at Marie who was busy playing with Kanu and Kiana like they were her own kids. I smiled as I continued with dressing the bed.I stole a glance of myself in the mirror that hung directly opposite me as I smiled."I won't allow him to ruin my beautiful life here in New Kingston. Never!!" I said to myself as I looked at the mirror.Luckily for me, I had a good job in The Eleven and it also came with a good pay that could help me clear my outstanding bills as well as sending them to school as well. And this chapter of my life? I was dedicating it to having the best moments of my life."Hey girl, what are your plans for the weekend?" Marie asked
Logan's POV.5 hours ago."What… what do you mean by Liam is dead?" Alphonso growled angrily. I could hear his heart race fast and wild and I saw the rage in his eyes. "How was that even possible?" He screamed as he punched the wall so hard, leaving a crack on the wall. "You had one duty, one duty Peterson and that was to watch over him. I need answers. I need whoever was behind it, dead." He growled as he pinned Peterson to the wall. His claws were out already as his eyes glistened red as well as his side hairs got much too and his fangs were partially out too."That won't bring him back, dad." I snapped as I tried calming him down. He turned to look at me and for a minute, the man I saw wasn't my father but the beast he has been hiding for years. For years now, he had fallen back as he was now more concerned about the family business and watching after his pack. A man of his caliber wouldn't go about seeking territories because he already had New Kingston in his hands. Almost
Alicia’s POV.Amelia had taken my phone as she scrolled through my Gmail in search of the mail I had gotten from Bohen’s bureau. She literally had access to everything that belonged to me, what was there to hide?“You will be going for the interview during the weekend which is tomorrow. Don’t tell me you don’t plan to go, Amelia.” She scurried away as Madam Cass called her attention to one of the finely dressed Italian customers that just barged in with some of his classy looking friends and their ladies too who had this slender body shape of some runway models. From their looks, I could tell they were some poorly trained kids of a wealthy family from around. I sighed as I looked away, trying so hard to ignore their noise that soon filled the bar. And the girls? I could tell already from the way they threw themselves on the guys that they had nothing serious, maybe just a fling. She quickly took down their order as she returned back to the counter to get the tray all filled up with e
Rex's POV.I yawned, stretching my body as I got up from the bed. It was another day away from Cleveland, away from the King's Real Estate Company and away from keeping up with meetings and also, getting treated like some high school kid by my mother.I looked at the wall clock as my eyes were still heavy and I wished I could sleep for some extra hours but then, I had other important things to get done. I couldn't get my mind off Elena just yet and there was absolutely no way I could ever get my mind off her.Her words still rang in my head and in as much as I tried forcing myself to believe that with time she would return to the pack, that she would leave New Kingston and returns back to Cleveland I still couldn't completely ignore the sharp and hurting pains I still felt when she clearly showed no interest in ever getting back with me.I paced about the bedroom as I couldn't clear my head completely. I glanced through my wardrobe as I was already running out of clothes. "What outf
Alicia’s POV.“What do you mean you got an invitation mail from Bohen’s Bureau?” Amelia stared at me in shock as she held a few of her textbooks in her hand as her school bag hung on her right shoulder.“How do you expect me to know Amelia?” I asked, while I rolled my eyes in disbelief too.She leaned on her locker which was right next to mine as she kept staring at me. “Or did you mistakenly send an application letter to them?” She asked, still looking at me.I could see that look of suspicion going on in her eyes and it was definitely obvious she was thinking I secretly went behind her back to submit my application letter.“Don’t tell me you think I secretly submitted my application letter to them. You know there is absolutely no way I would even go near there. How would I even dream of working in their company? You know how much I despise them!!” I said in defense as I took out my biology textbook from my locker.“Then how in God’s name did you receive an invitation mail from them
Logan's POV. "He is no more, you have to move on as well." I snapped as I looked at Liam. "You did your best but what gain is it trying to have the Alpha pay when you are not yet an Alpha? Fighting powerful Alphas is a risky one because their bites are highly lethal to us normal werewolves." I snapped as I arranged his black suit properly. "You did your best, brother. You tried saving him but then, you couldn't and do you know the only thing he demands from you right now, Liam?" I asked as I held his cheeks. "He needs you to stay alive for him until you avenge his death." I said calmly as I arranged his black tie as I smiled at him, trying to ease the sadness."Today is his burial, you shouldn't wear such a long face at least. He will be present as well to say his last goodbyes to everyone of us before we bid him farewell forever. You don't expect him to be happy seeing you look depressed, so come on, cheer up. Cheer up, Liam." I said as I tapped his shoulder.“Do you expect me to
Logan's Point Of ViewI couldn't stop thinking about the girl from school and I happened to want to see her every single moment. I relapsed on the bed as I kept on scrolling through my phone. “Is she even on any social media?” I scowled as I couldn't find anything about her. I was curious. I couldn't understand why the sudden attraction. Never have I been this attracted to someone before, so why her? I still remember looking at her multicolored eyes. I felt lost in them. But one thing was obvious, and that was, “she was like us. She was a werewolf too.” "Good morning, young master. Your breakfast is ready." Othello mumbled as he walked into my room. I got up from the edge of my table as I walked down to my wardrobe, as I picked up a white turtleneck top and well-ironed blue trousers and then, a thick blue jean jacket. I rushed inside the bathroom as I showered, and I quickly got dressed as I got ready to leave. Othello stood right next to the door entrance as he watched me get dr
Liam's POV "How could you be so careless, Liam? You just lost your beta. And that means you are now alone. Betas are hard to replace. You had just one duty and that was to keep him safe." Alphonso growled angrily as he paced about the room. I could see his rage swelling up and the disappointment that was also setting in. I laid down on the bed as tears swelled up in my eyes. I felt this sharp pain digging in. Mother was right, 'the Alpha came back to end it all.' I groaned as I wrapped my hands in a fist. "I will make him pay!!" I cursed within as I shut my eyes. “How sure are you that the Alpha was responsible for this?” Alphonso snapped as he looked at him.“Then who could it be then? Huh?” I fired back in rage as I looked at him. “If only you had accepted to pass on your Alpha power to me, I would have fought back, I would have been able to defend ourselves.” "How could you be that careless, Liam?" Mother whimpered as she looked me right into my eyes. "What now? Do you think
