Elena's POV.
It was a week and a day now, making it eight days without setting my eyes on Rex. It was the weekend as well, and I was going to be having the night shift. Kanu and Kiana wouldn't stop asking about Rex. And it was such an adorable name to give the man who they least expected to be their biological father. Kiana preferred calling him "Chocolate friend" because he had bought them chocolates for them the different times he had met them. Maybe if they could stop talking about him and asking about him, it would have been easier for me to forget about him again, but no, they kept on talking about him. "What was so special about him? Was it just the natural bond that couldn't be destroyed no matter the years of being apart? I scowled as I scrunched down to their height. "Mummy will be going to work tonight, so I will be dropping you both at her house, okay?" I said with a smile on my face as they both smiled back at me. I loved how jovial they were always. Without them in my life, I doubt if I would still have my sanity intact. "So, be a good boy and be a good girl, and if you don't disturb aunty Marie, I will get you both chocolate bars when I return home tomorrow, okay?" "Yes, mummy!!" They both chorused as they giggled happily. I still don't get why they were so in love with chocolate bars. That was the only way to have them obey everything you have to say without faulting anyone. I wore my sweater and hung my handbag as I walked them out and locked the door. I handed the key to Marie as we both hugged each other, kissing each other's cheeks. "Stay safe, okay?" She said calmly. "Tell mummy bye bye." She said as Kanu and Kiana waved me goodbye as I boarded a taxi down to The Eleven. Rex's POV. "Are you set?" Clark snapped as he walked into my room. I looked at him as I forced a smile. "You can't be serious right now. You haven't even worn your clothes. I had the laundryman arrange it for you. We have to be on our way already, Rex." He muttered as he looked at me. I could see the disappointment written all over his face and I couldn't wait to make it worse, which made me grin. "I am yet to shower!!" I scoffed as I got up from my bed, dropping the Kubrick's cube on the bed. "What!? Seriously!?" He yelped as he groaned bitterly. "Oh, darn it, Rex!! Do you even want her back into your life?" He scowled disappointedly as he shook his head. "Just give me half an hour and I will be done. You overfed me earlier today." I grinned again, and I felt good knowing that I was literally pissing him off right now. I heard his light growl as he stormed out of the room, followed next by the loud music that played in the sitting room. I quickly washed myself clean as I stepped out of the bathroom and I wore my boxers and within a few minutes, I got dressed up but in a different, polo. White just wasn't my thing. And no matter how I tried my best to really fall in love with white, it just never kicked in the right spot, so I opted for the black knitted polo with black trousers and a black palm that had little fluffy edges. And most importantly, I sprayed the two different perfumes he had purchased earlier today, giving me a more fulfilling fragrance of masculinity. I looked at myself in the mirror, feeling proud of myself as I saw my smartwatch and my wavy blonde hair. It just happened to come out perfectly well tonight. The black knitted polo exposed my muscles and cupped chest, which made me smile as it was all giving off the devilish CEO vibes I have always been obsessed with since my years in high school and college. I stepped out of my room as I looked at Clark, whose facial expression said it all. “Woohoo!! Here we go, baby!” He screamed at the top of his voice as he brushed his palms together in excitement. “Are you being serious right now?” I rolled my eyes as he referred to me as “baby.” “Oh! About that? I'm sorry about that. You know, watching the Reunion series is really overwhelming. But, what's your problem with white? You're meant to look like her angel tonight and not the other way around.” He scowled as he looked at me, furrowing his eyebrows as he looked at my outfit. “But you still rock it anyway and where did you get that perfume from?” He said, using his nose to sniff the hair. “That's really some strong masculinity perfume.” He shrugged as he stepped closer. “Don't be so annoying, Clark. I only mixed both together to get this.” I snapped as I walked towards the car keyholder. “Why, that's you being really creative, I guess your creative juices are beginning to flow already.” He chuckled softly as he looked at me. “Can you not be annoying right now? You are literally not funny right now either and that's the worst part of it!!” I snapped as I paused halfway, staring at him as he shut his mouth up. “Come on, Rex. I am only trying to make you calm down. Tonight should be a special night for you.” He responded. “A special night for me?” I scoffed as I rolled my eyes. “Tonight is just another night to face her and see how obvious her hatred is for me, Clark.” I sneered as I walked to the keyholder. “No way, no way!!” He snapped, clearing his throat as he used his werewolf speed to take the car key. “There's no way I am letting you drive tonight.” He snapped. “Gentlemanly?” I scowled. He shuddered. “Okay, okay, you look like some Mr. Tough Alpha guy is going to claim his mate and also, tonight is a full moon night.” He snapped as he looked at me. I groaned as I remembered tonight was a full moon night. “How could I have easily forgotten?” I snapped as I shook my head as we stepped out.It was just like they were hosting a jamboree on the beach. The whole place was properly lit and the hotel was probably a 20 storey building. We drove past the hotel as we parked the car at the parking lot and then took the wooden bridge that led us to the beach area."I thought you said she worked in the hotel? Why don't we just eat in the restaurant where I can see her instead of coming to this noisy place?" I queried as he led the way. "You know, when I said she worked in the hotel, I actually meant she worked in the beach." He said, shining his teeth as he looked at me and then, tilting his lips too. I scanned the beach. It was filled with people, and I could tell they were more than half of werewolves here too.It was a pretty long walk to the bar and an annoying one too because of how crowded it was."Hello, handsome?" A young lady rested her hand on my chest as she bit her lower lip and then, licking it too. As we walked down through the crowded area, I did a pretty great j
Rex's POV."Hey, uhmm… Elena." A young boy probably the same age as Elena walked up to the counter as he looked at her, smiling widely at her as he maintained eye contact with her."I am Liam. Liam Bohen." He introduced himself as he still wore that broad smile on his face. I felt this jealousy creeping in as I watched how flirtatious he was acting around her. I felt my wolf growling lightly. "I noticed you when I came in. You know, I could talk to your manager and maybe, I could drop a big tip for you so he can let you have some little fun tonight." He muttered."Who does he think he is?" I growled angrily as I looked at them."Uhmm… maybe we could dance, then join my friends and swim a little and we get to know ourselves and all that, you know?" He said as he bit his lower lip."Such harlotry!!" I scowled, cursing as I wished I could just tear him apart right now. "Uhmm… I… I'm sorry to disappoint you. I can't join you in a dance or go swimming with you." She responded as she sm
Rex's POV. “You won't believe it, Madame!!” Clark snapped as he sat down on the swivel chair. “So, here it is and how the perfect reunion went.” He snapped as Alice sat down on her swivel chair in her wide office in the King's Real Estate Company. She had this broad smile on as Clark was only being dramatic again. “So, there was this guy, he walked up to the counter and you know what he said?” He asked as he got up from the swivel chair. “No! What did he say.?” Alice responded in a split of a second as she looked at Clark. She smiled broadly as I couldn't stop admiring her well arranged Auburn hair. I still couldn't get how Clark turned from a high school friend to my beta and then, to a son and I hate when they plot behind my back. But then, that wasn't something I should be worried about because he was my most trusted ally. “Hey, uhmm… Elena.""Liam. Liam Bohen." "I noticed you when I came in. You know, I could talk to your manager and maybe, I could drop a big tip for you
Liam Bohen’s POV. “How long do I have to wait? I am already 20 years old, father.” I growled as I paced about the room. “How long do I have to wait before you pass on your power to me? I should be the one ruling the pack already, father!!” I growled angrily this time around.“You are just 20 and I happen not to be old. You have a lot to learn.” Alphonso snapped as he rolled his eyes. "A lot to learn?" I scowled as I looked at him. "If only you ever listened to me, I would have been able to defend myself from that pathetic Alpha who embarrassed me in front of everyone. I couldn't even stay back. I had to leave the jamboree out of shame." I snarled as I punched the wall."An Alpha?" Alphonso's voice deepened immediately."And you know what he said?" I chuckled scornfully as I looked at my father who was approaching his sixties and yet, wouldn't let a fresh blood rule."He said, “a Bohen's request was declined!!” This is our territory, father. We belong to New Kingston and we are the
Elena’s POVI felt my heart fluster as I watched how he stood there in the dark. He was the last person I was expecting to see come to my rescue from the hands of this god-damned asshole. "Was he stalking me?" I blushed while covering my exposed boobs with my torn top. "How come he was here at this hour? Shouldn't he be at home? Maybe, probably resting or…""How many times do I have to say this to you? I hate repeating myself, young man!!" He said in a light growl as I could hear his bones cracking."Was he changing into his wolf?" I snapped as I remained still, looking at his domineering figure that remained unmoved in the dark. Seeing those red eyes made my wolf feel safe. It felt like nothing had changed in those five years. "Are you insane?" I brushed off my shoulder as I looked at Liam who was literally freaking out like he was going to explode the next minute. "I will spare you tonight again but the next time I see you this close to my…"He quickly paused as he left a growli
Rex's POV. I couldn't let anything happen to her. And the thought of anyone getting close to her was way more provoking than I ever imagined. “Where is your coat?” Clark asked the moment I walked in.“Did you even sleep today?” He asked again as he looked directly into my eyes that were now heavy. How could I sleep when all I did was follow my two beautiful little kids everywhere. I couldn't allow any harm to come to them. And standing right there, I never knew when I smiled as I remembered how they were playing earlier today. I wished I could step out from where I hid all through watching them and have them in my arms but then, it was still going to be for a short while.“Seriously? Smiling right now is pretty much insane of you, Rex!!” Clark sneered, bringing me back to reality.“You know what, I made some broccoli omelet and erm… yeah, rice and soy sauce as well. You look dehydrated as well.” He scoffed as he rolled his eyes as he continued with the movie he was watching. “I thi
Rex POV.I couldn’t get my mind away from her yet and just no matter how hard I tried to. “Not again!!” I groaned as I brushed off the thought from the previous night.“How could I have forgotten to take my phone from the jacket?” I cursed as I looked at myself in the mirror. I couldn’t control my thoughts.I screamed even more as I remembered how I had dragged her gently as I walked her down to the front of her residential building before I left. “Rex? How many hours will it take you to get done? We need to be on our way already to the hotel, come on!!” Clark scowled as he banged the door.“I could just get a new phone, you know it, Clark!!” I shrugged as I brushed my hair down with my hand as I turned on the shower. And in a few minutes, I was done as we drove down to The Eleven.“Damn!!” Clark grinned as he sighted her from afar. “There she is, Rex. She is indeed beautiful, or wait, is she aware that you were going to come around today to pick up your phone?” He asked as he paused
Elena's POV.“What was that for back there, Marie? You know Rex is the last man I ever want to set my eyes on. And you literally supported him back there over me, Marie.” She said as she sighed, exhaling sharply as she looked away. “Come on, Elena. You just have to give him a listening ear. Can’t you see how hard he is trying to get back into your life.”“And that is exactly what I don’t want. He doesn't expect me to just let him back into my life and also to my children’s life. For five good years, I struggled to survive, five years of struggling to get over his betrayal. How could he? He broke me when I trusted him the most. What if after he gets the chance in, he still ends up cheating on me, Marie?” She interrupted Marie as she whined as Marie stood still. “How do you feel when they grow up to know that the man they called their friend was all along their biological father? Don’t you think they end up hating you for not allowing them to grow up with their father? You are going f
Rex's POV.“So, what's your next plan? It's obvious that she doesn't want you back. I think she's still healing from your betrayal.” Clark said as he sat down on the couch next to me.“It's been five years, Clark. And if I never cared, why am I here? Why am I in New Kingston when I have a multimillion empire to worry about?” I sighed as I relapsed on the couch.“You don't expect her to throw herself on you, Rex!!” Clark furrowed. “You have to earn it.”“Earn what exactly!?” I snapped in annoyance and frustration. “You have to earn her trust. You have to at least earn a little of her love and with that, maybe you could be able to convince her to return to Cleveland, to the pack.” He responded as he sipped the coffee in front of me.“Are you being serious right now?” I got up on my feet as I stared sternly at him. “Are you aware that she doesn't even give me the space I need to be able to prove to her that she's the reason I returned to New Kingston?” I sighed as I got up from the cou
Elena's POV.I had come to a conclusion and that was, 'there was absolutely no way I was returning back to Cleveland and to Rex's pack as well.' When I secretly left the pack five years ago, I had to go through so many difficulties and as well as having a hard time being an expecting mother and luckily for me, God had sent Marie my way. I looked at Marie who was busy playing with Kanu and Kiana like they were her own kids. I smiled as I continued with dressing the bed.I stole a glance of myself in the mirror that hung directly opposite me as I smiled."I won't allow him to ruin my beautiful life here in New Kingston. Never!!" I said to myself as I looked at the mirror.Luckily for me, I had a good job in The Eleven and it also came with a good pay that could help me clear my outstanding bills as well as sending them to school as well. And this chapter of my life? I was dedicating it to having the best moments of my life."Hey girl, what are your plans for the weekend?" Marie asked
Logan's POV.5 hours ago."What… what do you mean by Liam is dead?" Alphonso growled angrily. I could hear his heart race fast and wild and I saw the rage in his eyes. "How was that even possible?" He screamed as he punched the wall so hard, leaving a crack on the wall. "You had one duty, one duty Peterson and that was to watch over him. I need answers. I need whoever was behind it, dead." He growled as he pinned Peterson to the wall. His claws were out already as his eyes glistened red as well as his side hairs got much too and his fangs were partially out too."That won't bring him back, dad." I snapped as I tried calming him down. He turned to look at me and for a minute, the man I saw wasn't my father but the beast he has been hiding for years. For years now, he had fallen back as he was now more concerned about the family business and watching after his pack. A man of his caliber wouldn't go about seeking territories because he already had New Kingston in his hands. Almost
Alicia’s POV.Amelia had taken my phone as she scrolled through my Gmail in search of the mail I had gotten from Bohen’s bureau. She literally had access to everything that belonged to me, what was there to hide?“You will be going for the interview during the weekend which is tomorrow. Don’t tell me you don’t plan to go, Amelia.” She scurried away as Madam Cass called her attention to one of the finely dressed Italian customers that just barged in with some of his classy looking friends and their ladies too who had this slender body shape of some runway models. From their looks, I could tell they were some poorly trained kids of a wealthy family from around. I sighed as I looked away, trying so hard to ignore their noise that soon filled the bar. And the girls? I could tell already from the way they threw themselves on the guys that they had nothing serious, maybe just a fling. She quickly took down their order as she returned back to the counter to get the tray all filled up with e
Rex's POV.I yawned, stretching my body as I got up from the bed. It was another day away from Cleveland, away from the King's Real Estate Company and away from keeping up with meetings and also, getting treated like some high school kid by my mother.I looked at the wall clock as my eyes were still heavy and I wished I could sleep for some extra hours but then, I had other important things to get done. I couldn't get my mind off Elena just yet and there was absolutely no way I could ever get my mind off her.Her words still rang in my head and in as much as I tried forcing myself to believe that with time she would return to the pack, that she would leave New Kingston and returns back to Cleveland I still couldn't completely ignore the sharp and hurting pains I still felt when she clearly showed no interest in ever getting back with me.I paced about the bedroom as I couldn't clear my head completely. I glanced through my wardrobe as I was already running out of clothes. "What outf
Alicia’s POV.“What do you mean you got an invitation mail from Bohen’s Bureau?” Amelia stared at me in shock as she held a few of her textbooks in her hand as her school bag hung on her right shoulder.“How do you expect me to know Amelia?” I asked, while I rolled my eyes in disbelief too.She leaned on her locker which was right next to mine as she kept staring at me. “Or did you mistakenly send an application letter to them?” She asked, still looking at me.I could see that look of suspicion going on in her eyes and it was definitely obvious she was thinking I secretly went behind her back to submit my application letter.“Don’t tell me you think I secretly submitted my application letter to them. You know there is absolutely no way I would even go near there. How would I even dream of working in their company? You know how much I despise them!!” I said in defense as I took out my biology textbook from my locker.“Then how in God’s name did you receive an invitation mail from them
Logan's POV. "He is no more, you have to move on as well." I snapped as I looked at Liam. "You did your best but what gain is it trying to have the Alpha pay when you are not yet an Alpha? Fighting powerful Alphas is a risky one because their bites are highly lethal to us normal werewolves." I snapped as I arranged his black suit properly. "You did your best, brother. You tried saving him but then, you couldn't and do you know the only thing he demands from you right now, Liam?" I asked as I held his cheeks. "He needs you to stay alive for him until you avenge his death." I said calmly as I arranged his black tie as I smiled at him, trying to ease the sadness."Today is his burial, you shouldn't wear such a long face at least. He will be present as well to say his last goodbyes to everyone of us before we bid him farewell forever. You don't expect him to be happy seeing you look depressed, so come on, cheer up. Cheer up, Liam." I said as I tapped his shoulder.“Do you expect me to
Logan's Point Of ViewI couldn't stop thinking about the girl from school and I happened to want to see her every single moment. I relapsed on the bed as I kept on scrolling through my phone. “Is she even on any social media?” I scowled as I couldn't find anything about her. I was curious. I couldn't understand why the sudden attraction. Never have I been this attracted to someone before, so why her? I still remember looking at her multicolored eyes. I felt lost in them. But one thing was obvious, and that was, “she was like us. She was a werewolf too.” "Good morning, young master. Your breakfast is ready." Othello mumbled as he walked into my room. I got up from the edge of my table as I walked down to my wardrobe, as I picked up a white turtleneck top and well-ironed blue trousers and then, a thick blue jean jacket. I rushed inside the bathroom as I showered, and I quickly got dressed as I got ready to leave. Othello stood right next to the door entrance as he watched me get dr
Liam's POV "How could you be so careless, Liam? You just lost your beta. And that means you are now alone. Betas are hard to replace. You had just one duty and that was to keep him safe." Alphonso growled angrily as he paced about the room. I could see his rage swelling up and the disappointment that was also setting in. I laid down on the bed as tears swelled up in my eyes. I felt this sharp pain digging in. Mother was right, 'the Alpha came back to end it all.' I groaned as I wrapped my hands in a fist. "I will make him pay!!" I cursed within as I shut my eyes. “How sure are you that the Alpha was responsible for this?” Alphonso snapped as he looked at him.“Then who could it be then? Huh?” I fired back in rage as I looked at him. “If only you had accepted to pass on your Alpha power to me, I would have fought back, I would have been able to defend ourselves.” "How could you be that careless, Liam?" Mother whimpered as she looked me right into my eyes. "What now? Do you think
