Rex's POV.
I couldn't let anything happen to her. And the thought of anyone getting close to her was way more provoking than I ever imagined. “Where is your coat?” Clark asked the moment I walked in. “Did you even sleep today?” He asked again as he looked directly into my eyes that were now heavy. How could I sleep when all I did was follow my two beautiful little kids everywhere. I couldn't allow any harm to come to them. And standing right there, I never knew when I smiled as I remembered how they were playing earlier today. I wished I could step out from where I hid all through watching them and have them in my arms but then, it was still going to be for a short while. “Seriously? Smiling right now is pretty much insane of you, Rex!!” Clark sneered, bringing me back to reality. “You know what, I made some broccoli omelet and erm… yeah, rice and soy sauce as well. You look dehydrated as well.” He scoffed as he rolled his eyes as he continued with the movie he was watching. “I think I will just drive out and get maybe Pan-seared steak with Garlic butter, it's already like ages since I last tasted something as sweet as that.” I snapped as I stepped out. Broccoli wasn't my favorite and soy sauce? That was literally like one of my worst dishes. I drove down to the nearest fast-food restaurant that was still open as I got 4 pan-seared steaks with Garlic butter and two sodas. "Yesss!!" I screamed as I drove back home. I had everything playing in my head right now. And I felt my heart become unsteady as I remembered how I rubbed her cheek and how I held her left hand, dragging her gently with me. I felt this happiness flowing through me as I drove back. "What exactly is going on? Is there something you're not telling me, Rex?" Clark scowled as he looked at me. "Since you got back home, you have been smiling, really? Did she finally accept to return to the pack? Because I am fully aware that is why we came here in the first place." He said as he paused for a while, dropping the fork that had a small chunk of the steak. "Huh?" I choked as I raised my eyebrows. "What don't you understand about maintaining table manners, Clark?" I sneered as I tried ignoring his question. "Then how can I focus and eat when you keep grinning and come to think of it, where is your coat?" He furrowed his eyebrows as he stared at me. "I went to the car to get my stuff which I forgot when we went to The Eleven and I noticed your coat wasn't there either." He went further as he locked his eyes with mine now. "I will go pick it up tomorrow, or maybe next." I answered as I continued with my meal. "Pick it up?" He questioned in an interrogative manner. "And yes, Alice called severally while you were away. She got worried and you weren't returning her calls either." Clark said as he looked at me. "I never received her calls." I responded as I checked my pockets searching for my phone. "Darn it!" I cursed as I remembered I had dropped it in my coat's inner pocket. "How could I have been this careless?" I groaned as I punched the table lightly. "Careless?" He scowled and I saw the confusion on his face now. "I forgot my phone in my coat." I sneered as I rolled my eyes. "I could drive down to the laundry tomorrow to go get it for you." He said as he continued with his meal. "Actually, I had to give Elena my coat. She needed it." I finally confessed as my cheeks flustered, getting a little bit red as I knew Clark would definitely make a great deal out of it. "Elena? You gave your coat to Elena?" He said as he dropped his fork this time around as he looked at me. "Okay, end of conversation. Can we just eat? I will get it tomorrow." I snapped as I tried ignoring him but then, he wouldn't give in. "Does that mean you both are finally getting along again?" He questioned as he smiled broadly. "Come on, Rex, this is good news. In Fact, this is the best news I have heard today." He yelped as he picked up his cellphone. "Whatever it is that you want to do, I will suggest you better not." I scowled as I quickly grabbed his phone from him. "What do you plan on doing? Huh?" I sneered. "There is absolutely no way I will let you call my mother." I snapped as I pushed his phone inside my pocket. “Come on, Rex. She also needs to hear this. Don't you know she will be the happiest person in the world after hearing it? Come on, Rex handover my phone, please?” He pleaded as he tilted his lips. “That's not going to work on me today, so don't even give it a try.” I rolled my eyes. “But… but wait, why did you give her your coat? Was she feeling cold? Oh!!” He widened his eyes even more as he looked at me. “Don't tell me you both were together, like… like you know.” He said excitedly. I clenched the front part of my hair as I groaned, cutting him short. “How possible is that, Clark? She just got into some trouble and that stupid Liam Bohen tried taking advantage of her so I…” “Saved her and kicked his ass.” He interrupted me in an attempt to make fun of it as well. “I think I need to go to bed now.” I scowled as I got up. “But… wait… Liam Bohen? He tried taking advantage of her?” He stuttered now as he suddenly wore a frown now. “I hope you taught him a lesson he will never forget?” He probed as he looked at me. “I only protected the mother of my child.” I responded before walking away. “Oh mine. This is truly the best love story.” I heard him say in a whisper as I shook my head.Rex POV.I couldn’t get my mind away from her yet and just no matter how hard I tried to. “Not again!!” I groaned as I brushed off the thought from the previous night.“How could I have forgotten to take my phone from the jacket?” I cursed as I looked at myself in the mirror. I couldn’t control my thoughts.I screamed even more as I remembered how I had dragged her gently as I walked her down to the front of her residential building before I left. “Rex? How many hours will it take you to get done? We need to be on our way already to the hotel, come on!!” Clark scowled as he banged the door.“I could just get a new phone, you know it, Clark!!” I shrugged as I brushed my hair down with my hand as I turned on the shower. And in a few minutes, I was done as we drove down to The Eleven.“Damn!!” Clark grinned as he sighted her from afar. “There she is, Rex. She is indeed beautiful, or wait, is she aware that you were going to come around today to pick up your phone?” He asked as he paused
Elena's POV.“What was that for back there, Marie? You know Rex is the last man I ever want to set my eyes on. And you literally supported him back there over me, Marie.” She said as she sighed, exhaling sharply as she looked away. “Come on, Elena. You just have to give him a listening ear. Can’t you see how hard he is trying to get back into your life.”“And that is exactly what I don’t want. He doesn't expect me to just let him back into my life and also to my children’s life. For five good years, I struggled to survive, five years of struggling to get over his betrayal. How could he? He broke me when I trusted him the most. What if after he gets the chance in, he still ends up cheating on me, Marie?” She interrupted Marie as she whined as Marie stood still. “How do you feel when they grow up to know that the man they called their friend was all along their biological father? Don’t you think they end up hating you for not allowing them to grow up with their father? You are going f
Rex's POV.I drove into the garage as I rushed out to open her door as well. Clark had given me a thumbs up thrice already. "F*ck!!" I growled as I ignored him. "He will definitely get seen and what next? Ruin my perfect night with Elena." I snapped as I pressed the elevator's button as we used it to get to the top floor. "Welcome!" I said with a smile as I opened the door as she walked in. I felt my heart racing really fast now and at some point, I felt this was completely a wrong idea."Here! Have a seat." I muttered as I stood directly opposite her now. I loved how beautiful her lipstick was and it perfectly suited her red gown and brown hat, which hung one-sided. "How have you been?" I finally broke the silence as I looked at her. I felt her heartbeat pause for a while as she raised her eyebrows, looking right into my eyes which only made my heart to flutter again. I gradually felt uneasy again. I was getting nervous."I have been fine." She responded briefly, still had a
Rex's POV.I quickly prepared pasta with bacon which happened to be my favorite dish with eggs and added parmesan cheese I had bought earlier on. Did I fail to mention that she was the reason I fell in love with bacon and scrambled eggs? And when she left, I had to fall for Clark's bacon. He was a pretty good cook. I looked at her as she ate and every time I had something to say, I always had no other option than to let it slide. I couldn't stand ruining our dinner today. No way!! I exhaled sharply as I kept looking at her."Did she love it?" I muttered as I waited to hear her compliments like before. During my time off work, we spent time together in the kitchen, learning and trying different dishes.I couldn't wait to welcome my first child into the world and then my second and third, but then, it never came. Looking at her right now, I wished I was patient enough. If I was just a little more patient, I wouldn't have lost her. I wouldn't have been here in New Kingston, leaving
Rex POV. I jolted up from the sofa chair I had slept on throughout the night as my phone rang repeatedly. Clark yawned as he rubbed his eyes as he squinted them like he was trying to read. The sun was piercing through the curtains which lit the room. "How come I slept here?" He muttered as he got up from the table. "Did you use alcohol in your pasta?" He scowled as he rubbed his eyes again and opened them wider this time around. My phone rang again and this time, I had to search who the caller was. It was my mother. "Why was she calling?" I scowled as I rubbed my eyes before picking up the call. "Are you okay? Why do you look so tattered?" She sneered as she wore her glasses. "Have you been drinking, Rex?" She queried as she frowned her face. "No, not at all, mother!!" I responded in a defensive tone as I sat upright. "Don't tell me you are just waking up!?" She scowled angrily this time around."Definitely yes!!" I rolled my eyes as I yawned. "Is this you plan on getting her b
Logan's POV."Logan, are you being serious here?" Alphonso snapped as he looked at Logan. "Why New Kingston College? What about other prestigious schools in New Kingston? What will people say when they see you in a public school?" He scowled in disapproval as he relapsed on his swivel chair. "That is what I want, father." I sighed as I rolled my eyes. "This is about me, dad. I can cope and I clearly remember that I just turned 18 and can make decisions for myself too, dad." I said, rolling my eyes again. "I can take care of myself. I can control my wolf too, just let me be dad, please!?" I groaned this time around as he wasn't ready to grant me my wish."I can't, Logan. I have to keep you safe at all costs. How do you expect me to protect you from my enemies? Cancel your plans of schooling at the New Kingston College, Logan." He shrugged as he looked at me.“I am not going to cancel it out. You let Liam do as he pleases and when it comes to me, I don't get to have a say. I am not a k
Alicia's POV "Hey, Alicia?" Amelia snapped as I was going through my Economics textbook. "Didn't you see the new guy the principal walked into our class earlier today?" She muttered as she grinned from chin to chin. "And what about him? What is actually so special about him?" I asked her as I raised my eyebrows. "There's absolutely nothing so special about him, and you literally don't expect me to throw myself on him." I scowled as I continued perusing my textbook."Do you even know who he is? You have to see when he drove in. He drove into the compound in a black flashy Ford GT car. He's a hot cake, Alicia, come on!!" She shrugged in a defensive tone as she rolled her eyes."Oh, spare me Amelia!!" I snapped. "I am fully aware of who he is and whose son he is and also, whose brother he is as well, Amelia." I scowled as I continued going through my text book. "Currently, he is every girl's dream and yeah, including mine." She blushed at the thought of Logan."Like, who wouldn't fall
Logan's POV."Are you sure you want to eat here, young master?" Othello asked as I ordered him to pull over. "Is there anything wrong with my choice?" I sighed as I looked at him from the rearview mirror. "Is it bad eating from any restaurant?""We could go to the bigger ones. I doubt if this restaurant would have good customer service. And also, their dishes may be awful as well." He condemned.I sighed as I looked away. It was at the heart of New Kingston and the view was completely beautiful, the walls which were decorated by synthetic grass and the chairs well arranged at the front of the restaurant. "That's not your problem, Othello!!" I scowled as I had him pull over. "If your dad finds out that you had your lunch here, I will definitely get into his trouble for letting you eat here." He groaned as he parked the car over. I stepped down and he wouldn't stop trying to dissuade me and then, before I could even walk in, a lady had bumped into me, making my wolf to growl lightly
Rex's POV.“So, what's your next plan? It's obvious that she doesn't want you back. I think she's still healing from your betrayal.” Clark said as he sat down on the couch next to me.“It's been five years, Clark. And if I never cared, why am I here? Why am I in New Kingston when I have a multimillion empire to worry about?” I sighed as I relapsed on the couch.“You don't expect her to throw herself on you, Rex!!” Clark furrowed. “You have to earn it.”“Earn what exactly!?” I snapped in annoyance and frustration. “You have to earn her trust. You have to at least earn a little of her love and with that, maybe you could be able to convince her to return to Cleveland, to the pack.” He responded as he sipped the coffee in front of me.“Are you being serious right now?” I got up on my feet as I stared sternly at him. “Are you aware that she doesn't even give me the space I need to be able to prove to her that she's the reason I returned to New Kingston?” I sighed as I got up from the cou
Elena's POV.I had come to a conclusion and that was, 'there was absolutely no way I was returning back to Cleveland and to Rex's pack as well.' When I secretly left the pack five years ago, I had to go through so many difficulties and as well as having a hard time being an expecting mother and luckily for me, God had sent Marie my way. I looked at Marie who was busy playing with Kanu and Kiana like they were her own kids. I smiled as I continued with dressing the bed.I stole a glance of myself in the mirror that hung directly opposite me as I smiled."I won't allow him to ruin my beautiful life here in New Kingston. Never!!" I said to myself as I looked at the mirror.Luckily for me, I had a good job in The Eleven and it also came with a good pay that could help me clear my outstanding bills as well as sending them to school as well. And this chapter of my life? I was dedicating it to having the best moments of my life."Hey girl, what are your plans for the weekend?" Marie asked
Logan's POV.5 hours ago."What… what do you mean by Liam is dead?" Alphonso growled angrily. I could hear his heart race fast and wild and I saw the rage in his eyes. "How was that even possible?" He screamed as he punched the wall so hard, leaving a crack on the wall. "You had one duty, one duty Peterson and that was to watch over him. I need answers. I need whoever was behind it, dead." He growled as he pinned Peterson to the wall. His claws were out already as his eyes glistened red as well as his side hairs got much too and his fangs were partially out too."That won't bring him back, dad." I snapped as I tried calming him down. He turned to look at me and for a minute, the man I saw wasn't my father but the beast he has been hiding for years. For years now, he had fallen back as he was now more concerned about the family business and watching after his pack. A man of his caliber wouldn't go about seeking territories because he already had New Kingston in his hands. Almost
Alicia’s POV.Amelia had taken my phone as she scrolled through my Gmail in search of the mail I had gotten from Bohen’s bureau. She literally had access to everything that belonged to me, what was there to hide?“You will be going for the interview during the weekend which is tomorrow. Don’t tell me you don’t plan to go, Amelia.” She scurried away as Madam Cass called her attention to one of the finely dressed Italian customers that just barged in with some of his classy looking friends and their ladies too who had this slender body shape of some runway models. From their looks, I could tell they were some poorly trained kids of a wealthy family from around. I sighed as I looked away, trying so hard to ignore their noise that soon filled the bar. And the girls? I could tell already from the way they threw themselves on the guys that they had nothing serious, maybe just a fling. She quickly took down their order as she returned back to the counter to get the tray all filled up with e
Rex's POV.I yawned, stretching my body as I got up from the bed. It was another day away from Cleveland, away from the King's Real Estate Company and away from keeping up with meetings and also, getting treated like some high school kid by my mother.I looked at the wall clock as my eyes were still heavy and I wished I could sleep for some extra hours but then, I had other important things to get done. I couldn't get my mind off Elena just yet and there was absolutely no way I could ever get my mind off her.Her words still rang in my head and in as much as I tried forcing myself to believe that with time she would return to the pack, that she would leave New Kingston and returns back to Cleveland I still couldn't completely ignore the sharp and hurting pains I still felt when she clearly showed no interest in ever getting back with me.I paced about the bedroom as I couldn't clear my head completely. I glanced through my wardrobe as I was already running out of clothes. "What outf
Alicia’s POV.“What do you mean you got an invitation mail from Bohen’s Bureau?” Amelia stared at me in shock as she held a few of her textbooks in her hand as her school bag hung on her right shoulder.“How do you expect me to know Amelia?” I asked, while I rolled my eyes in disbelief too.She leaned on her locker which was right next to mine as she kept staring at me. “Or did you mistakenly send an application letter to them?” She asked, still looking at me.I could see that look of suspicion going on in her eyes and it was definitely obvious she was thinking I secretly went behind her back to submit my application letter.“Don’t tell me you think I secretly submitted my application letter to them. You know there is absolutely no way I would even go near there. How would I even dream of working in their company? You know how much I despise them!!” I said in defense as I took out my biology textbook from my locker.“Then how in God’s name did you receive an invitation mail from them
Logan's POV. "He is no more, you have to move on as well." I snapped as I looked at Liam. "You did your best but what gain is it trying to have the Alpha pay when you are not yet an Alpha? Fighting powerful Alphas is a risky one because their bites are highly lethal to us normal werewolves." I snapped as I arranged his black suit properly. "You did your best, brother. You tried saving him but then, you couldn't and do you know the only thing he demands from you right now, Liam?" I asked as I held his cheeks. "He needs you to stay alive for him until you avenge his death." I said calmly as I arranged his black tie as I smiled at him, trying to ease the sadness."Today is his burial, you shouldn't wear such a long face at least. He will be present as well to say his last goodbyes to everyone of us before we bid him farewell forever. You don't expect him to be happy seeing you look depressed, so come on, cheer up. Cheer up, Liam." I said as I tapped his shoulder.“Do you expect me to
Logan's Point Of ViewI couldn't stop thinking about the girl from school and I happened to want to see her every single moment. I relapsed on the bed as I kept on scrolling through my phone. “Is she even on any social media?” I scowled as I couldn't find anything about her. I was curious. I couldn't understand why the sudden attraction. Never have I been this attracted to someone before, so why her? I still remember looking at her multicolored eyes. I felt lost in them. But one thing was obvious, and that was, “she was like us. She was a werewolf too.” "Good morning, young master. Your breakfast is ready." Othello mumbled as he walked into my room. I got up from the edge of my table as I walked down to my wardrobe, as I picked up a white turtleneck top and well-ironed blue trousers and then, a thick blue jean jacket. I rushed inside the bathroom as I showered, and I quickly got dressed as I got ready to leave. Othello stood right next to the door entrance as he watched me get dr
Liam's POV "How could you be so careless, Liam? You just lost your beta. And that means you are now alone. Betas are hard to replace. You had just one duty and that was to keep him safe." Alphonso growled angrily as he paced about the room. I could see his rage swelling up and the disappointment that was also setting in. I laid down on the bed as tears swelled up in my eyes. I felt this sharp pain digging in. Mother was right, 'the Alpha came back to end it all.' I groaned as I wrapped my hands in a fist. "I will make him pay!!" I cursed within as I shut my eyes. “How sure are you that the Alpha was responsible for this?” Alphonso snapped as he looked at him.“Then who could it be then? Huh?” I fired back in rage as I looked at him. “If only you had accepted to pass on your Alpha power to me, I would have fought back, I would have been able to defend ourselves.” "How could you be that careless, Liam?" Mother whimpered as she looked me right into my eyes. "What now? Do you think
