Rex's POV.
I yawned, stretching my body as I got up from the bed. It was another day away from Cleveland, away from the King's Real Estate Company and away from keeping up with meetings and also, getting treated like some high school kid by my mother. I looked at the wall clock as my eyes were still heavy and I wished I could sleep for some extra hours but then, I had other important things to get done. I couldn't get my mind off Elena just yet and there was absolutely no way I could ever get my mind off her. Her words still rang in my head and in as much as I tried forcing myself to believe that with time she would return to the pack, that she would leave New Kingston and returns back to Cleveland I still couldn't completely ignore the sharp and hurting pains I still felt when she clearly showed no interest in ever getting back with me. I paced about the bedroom as I couldn't clear my head completely. I glanced through my wardrobe as I was already running out of clothes. "What outfit should I even put on today?" I furrowed my eyebrows as I kept scanning my wardrobe thoroughly. "Good morning, Rex!" Clark greeted me as he walked into my room. "Don't tell me you are looking for what to wear today again?" He scoffed as he looked at me. From the way he was staring at me right now, I could tell what he had in mind already. "Not that!!" I quickly said in defense as I took out a blue baggy jeans and a black Louis Vuitton's hoodie. "We both know you were looking for some sophisticated, mafia like outfit." He scoffed, chuckling softly. "How many times do I have to tell you that you will only scare them away? For crying out loud, they are kids and if there is any way they will like you, it is by you being casual and not dressing all up like you're going for some important pack meeting." He snapped. I looked at the baggy blue jeans and hoodie as I exhaled sharply in relief even if I have never worn such before. I was used to the whole pinstripe suit or heavy coat or at least, a long sleeve shirt neatly tucked inside a well shaped and fitted trouser and not some extremely casual wear that would make me look only younger than my age. I threw it on the bed as I walked inside the bathroom to go shower and Clark left to go prepare breakfast. I had gotten used to the constant parking in the parking lot and paying close attention to Kanu and Kiana. I loved how energetic and how smart they were as well and I had no intention of taking them away from Elena. "Here we go!!" Clark said calmly as he dropped the tray on the dining table. "You better leave a better comment this time around." He said as he opened the plate containing three sausages, fried eggs and sliced cheese. I sat down as I wore the napkin. "I bet Elena would have herself dripping for you the moment she set her eyes on you today." He scoffed as he grinned from ear to ear. "Can you not be ridiculous?" I frowned as I proceeded with my breakfast. "Ridiculous? I'm just complimenting your clothes, Rex!" He snapped with a broad grin which did nothing than to get me more upset again. "So, tell me, Rex." He mumbled as he sat down directly opposite me with a sausage already in his mouth. If there was a perfect definition of a foodie, then it definitely should be Clark. I rolled my eyes as I ate my sausages calmly. My phone beeped twice as I looked at the screen to see the pop up notification. It was my alarm clock, I had set a notification alarm so that I could keep on time. It was my alarm notification. "I need to leave you!!" I adjusted my chair backwards as I stood up. "Leave now?" He queried as he looked right into my eyes. "You just started eating, Rex!! You still have a full sausage and two untouched cheese on your plate and you want to leave it? You know you won't be coming home not until…" "I will have lunch with my two little adorable angels." I quickly ended his speech as I smiled. "I can't be a minute late." I responded as I picked up the car key which I had left on the table the previous night. He gave me that look of 'at least can't you finish your breakfast before doing whatever it is on your to-do list?' but then, it has become a part of me. It has become something I derived so much happiness from. I loved seeing them get down from the school bus, how they rush in as well. I loved seeing every single thing about them. He groaned as he pulled the plate closer to his. "I won't watch you waste this tasty food." He sighed as he emptied my sausage and two untouched cheese into his own." "What if… she tells you to stay away from the kids as well? What then? Hope you won't run mad!?" He scowled as he ate the sausage. "There's no way she would say such." I said in defense, trying so hard not to think about it. "How sure are you? You are Rex King, a powerful Alpha as well and once your enemies find out the reason you keep visiting the New Kingston Preliminary School, Kanu and Kiana would be in danger." He said in a suggestive tone as he looked at me like he was trying to stop me from going. "That is why I am always there!!" I defensively answered him with a smirk on my face. "And… I would love to see them try!!" I said in a light growl. "You know Elena can be overprotective when it comes to them. And currently, you can't guarantee their complete protection until they are back to Cleveland, back to the pack!!" He muttered as he looked at me in a stern manner. I slammed the door as I walked away. I was done listening to him. “But what if he was right? What if I was only going to bring harm to the two little adorable angels I have come to love obsessively?”Alicia’s POV.Amelia had taken my phone as she scrolled through my Gmail in search of the mail I had gotten from Bohen’s bureau. She literally had access to everything that belonged to me, what was there to hide?“You will be going for the interview during the weekend which is tomorrow. Don’t tell me you don’t plan to go, Amelia.” She scurried away as Madam Cass called her attention to one of the finely dressed Italian customers that just barged in with some of his classy looking friends and their ladies too who had this slender body shape of some runway models. From their looks, I could tell they were some poorly trained kids of a wealthy family from around. I sighed as I looked away, trying so hard to ignore their noise that soon filled the bar. And the girls? I could tell already from the way they threw themselves on the guys that they had nothing serious, maybe just a fling. She quickly took down their order as she returned back to the counter to get the tray all filled up with e
Logan's POV.5 hours ago."What… what do you mean by Liam is dead?" Alphonso growled angrily. I could hear his heart race fast and wild and I saw the rage in his eyes. "How was that even possible?" He screamed as he punched the wall so hard, leaving a crack on the wall. "You had one duty, one duty Peterson and that was to watch over him. I need answers. I need whoever was behind it, dead." He growled as he pinned Peterson to the wall. His claws were out already as his eyes glistened red as well as his side hairs got much too and his fangs were partially out too."That won't bring him back, dad." I snapped as I tried calming him down. He turned to look at me and for a minute, the man I saw wasn't my father but the beast he has been hiding for years. For years now, he had fallen back as he was now more concerned about the family business and watching after his pack. A man of his caliber wouldn't go about seeking territories because he already had New Kingston in his hands. Almost
Elena's POV.I had come to a conclusion and that was, 'there was absolutely no way I was returning back to Cleveland and to Rex's pack as well.' When I secretly left the pack five years ago, I had to go through so many difficulties and as well as having a hard time being an expecting mother and luckily for me, God had sent Marie my way. I looked at Marie who was busy playing with Kanu and Kiana like they were her own kids. I smiled as I continued with dressing the bed.I stole a glance of myself in the mirror that hung directly opposite me as I smiled."I won't allow him to ruin my beautiful life here in New Kingston. Never!!" I said to myself as I looked at the mirror.Luckily for me, I had a good job in The Eleven and it also came with a good pay that could help me clear my outstanding bills as well as sending them to school as well. And this chapter of my life? I was dedicating it to having the best moments of my life."Hey girl, what are your plans for the weekend?" Marie asked
Rex's POV.“So, what's your next plan? It's obvious that she doesn't want you back. I think she's still healing from your betrayal.” Clark said as he sat down on the couch next to me.“It's been five years, Clark. And if I never cared, why am I here? Why am I in New Kingston when I have a multimillion empire to worry about?” I sighed as I relapsed on the couch.“You don't expect her to throw herself on you, Rex!!” Clark furrowed. “You have to earn it.”“Earn what exactly!?” I snapped in annoyance and frustration. “You have to earn her trust. You have to at least earn a little of her love and with that, maybe you could be able to convince her to return to Cleveland, to the pack.” He responded as he sipped the coffee in front of me.“Are you being serious right now?” I got up on my feet as I stared sternly at him. “Are you aware that she doesn't even give me the space I need to be able to prove to her that she's the reason I returned to New Kingston?” I sighed as I got up from the cou
Elena POV“You can't do this! I am your mate! Your Luna!” I screamed at Rex, the only man I have ever loved. “In which world do you think that what you are doing makes any sense?!”“In my world!” He thundered. “I can do what I want, when I want, however I want. And right now, I want you gone from my pack.”“The pack will never accept this-” I shouted at him in pain, hurt and anger.“I am their Alpha! They will accept what I want them to or they will leave.” He growled at me.“Why are you doing this, Rex? What possible reason could you have for doing this?” I cried as I collapsed to my feet.“These are my reasons. And I don't have to explain them to you. Just make sure that you are out of this pack before sunrise.”“It is because of her, isn't it?” I ask brokenly. “Maya. You told me that there was nothing going on between you two. That it was all in the past, you told me not to worry. You liar!” I screamed at Maya for betraying me with her deceptive lies.“There is no point screaming a
Rex POVFive Years Later……..“You are late.”Those were the first words that I heard at the moment I walked into the mansion.Tilting my head to look into the living room, I saw my mother sitting in the dark, waiting for me.Like a creep.“It is also two o'clock in the midnight, and you are just getting in”. She said with a scowl. The same scowl that is always present on her face whenever she was talking to me.Ever since Elena left. No, ever since I told her to leave.“I told you, I have things to do,” I said as I turned to leave.“Did you find her?” She demanded, with her voice cold.I can't help but wince at it.I get it.I messed up.And I am trying to make up for it by searching for her.I have been chasing her down every year, whispers, suspicions, or sightings of her but it has all come to nothing.Just like tonight and every other night.“No, mother. I didn't. It was a false lead, I didn't find any clue to her whereabouts”. I answered. She sniffed with disdain as she got up to
Rex POV“What is this I hear about you finding Elena?” My mum asked as she barged into my office.“Mum, you know that you could have at least knocked?” I asked by way of response.“Don't play with me, boy? Where is she?”Boy.Like, what the hell! As if I am still some eight year old kid that broke his vase, oh well.“New Kingston”. I answered as I signed a document, handed it to my Secretary, and then looked up at her.At her fifty five years old, my mother is still a beauty. There were no gray strands of her in her mane of full Auburn hair, beautifully styled and cuffed by the nape of her neck, she had the same color as my eyes but with a tanner skin and no signs of aging.I suppose that was thanks to our wolf genes.“If she is all the way over there, why are you still here and not on a plane?”“Because.”“Because what?”“Because… there are some… things to be cleared on my desk before I go see her”. I answered.“Some… some things to take care of? Rex! Are you listening to yourself? T
Elena POV“I am imagining this”. I muttered to myself. “I have to be imagining this.”I stood with my mouth wide opened in shock as a pair of wolf cubs had made a mess of my living room.Suffice it to say, this was not normal.I mean, for a while now, a lot of things have not been normal in my life, not since the twins were born but this takes the cake.Wolves, werewolves are only able to transform on their sixteenth birthday. This is to allow them to bear the pain of transformation while also having the ability to control their urges. So, why, pray tell, are my four - nearly five - years old children in wolf form? There was no warning, no inkling that they were going into transformation.I had left them asleep on the waterproof mattress and came back only to see the room flooded, glass broken, and two cubs having a tug of war with one of my silk pillows.I got down to my knees slowly, hands outstretched as I called out to them.“Kanu, Kiana, come to mummy now. Come now.”At my voice,

Alicia’s POV.“What do you mean you got an invitation mail from Bohen’s Bureau?” Amelia stared at me in shock as she held a few of her textbooks in her hand as her school bag hung on her right shoulder.“How do you expect me to know Amelia?” I asked, while I rolled my eyes in disbelief too.She leaned on her locker which was right next to mine as she kept staring at me. “Or did you mistakenly send an application letter to them?” She asked, still looking at me.I could see that look of suspicion going on in her eyes and it was definitely obvious she was thinking I secretly went behind her back to submit my application letter.“Don’t tell me you think I secretly submitted my application letter to them. You know there is absolutely no way I would even go near there. How would I even dream of working in their company? You know how much I despise them!!” I said in defense as I took out my biology textbook from my locker.“Then how in God’s name did you receive an invitation mail from them
Logan's POV. "He is no more, you have to move on as well." I snapped as I looked at Liam. "You did your best but what gain is it trying to have the Alpha pay when you are not yet an Alpha? Fighting powerful Alphas is a risky one because their bites are highly lethal to us normal werewolves." I snapped as I arranged his black suit properly. "You did your best, brother. You tried saving him but then, you couldn't and do you know the only thing he demands from you right now, Liam?" I asked as I held his cheeks. "He needs you to stay alive for him until you avenge his death." I said calmly as I arranged his black tie as I smiled at him, trying to ease the sadness."Today is his burial, you shouldn't wear such a long face at least. He will be present as well to say his last goodbyes to everyone of us before we bid him farewell forever. You don't expect him to be happy seeing you look depressed, so come on, cheer up. Cheer up, Liam." I said as I tapped his shoulder.“Do you expect me to
Logan's Point Of ViewI couldn't stop thinking about the girl from school and I happened to want to see her every single moment. I relapsed on the bed as I kept on scrolling through my phone. “Is she even on any social media?” I scowled as I couldn't find anything about her. I was curious. I couldn't understand why the sudden attraction. Never have I been this attracted to someone before, so why her? I still remember looking at her multicolored eyes. I felt lost in them. But one thing was obvious, and that was, “she was like us. She was a werewolf too.” "Good morning, young master. Your breakfast is ready." Othello mumbled as he walked into my room. I got up from the edge of my table as I walked down to my wardrobe, as I picked up a white turtleneck top and well-ironed blue trousers and then, a thick blue jean jacket. I rushed inside the bathroom as I showered, and I quickly got dressed as I got ready to leave. Othello stood right next to the door entrance as he watched me get dr
Liam's POV "How could you be so careless, Liam? You just lost your beta. And that means you are now alone. Betas are hard to replace. You had just one duty and that was to keep him safe." Alphonso growled angrily as he paced about the room. I could see his rage swelling up and the disappointment that was also setting in. I laid down on the bed as tears swelled up in my eyes. I felt this sharp pain digging in. Mother was right, 'the Alpha came back to end it all.' I groaned as I wrapped my hands in a fist. "I will make him pay!!" I cursed within as I shut my eyes. “How sure are you that the Alpha was responsible for this?” Alphonso snapped as he looked at him.“Then who could it be then? Huh?” I fired back in rage as I looked at him. “If only you had accepted to pass on your Alpha power to me, I would have fought back, I would have been able to defend ourselves.” "How could you be that careless, Liam?" Mother whimpered as she looked me right into my eyes. "What now? Do you think
