Logan's POV.

5 hours ago.

"What… what do you mean by Liam is dead?" Alphonso growled angrily.

I could hear his heart race fast and wild and I saw the rage in his eyes.

"How was that even possible?" He screamed as he punched the wall so hard, leaving a crack on the wall.

"You had one duty, one duty Peterson and that was to watch over him. I need answers. I need whoever was behind it, dead." He growled as he pinned Peterson to the wall.

His claws were out already as his eyes glistened red as well as his side hairs got much too and his fangs were partially out too.

"That won't bring him back, dad." I snapped as I tried calming him down.

He turned to look at me and for a minute, the man I saw wasn't my father but the beast he has been hiding for years.

For years now, he had fallen back as he was now more concerned about the family business and watching after his pack. A man of his caliber wouldn't go about seeking territories because he already had New Kingston in his hands.

Almost all the politicians, the cops, the judges as well were all under his payroll. But today, I saw his werewolf come off with so much rage.

"I… need the killer. And when I see whoever is behind this, I will feed him to the wolves, let's see how long he get to survive the torture and the pains as well." He slammed as he let go of Peterson who fell to the ground coughing.

“You have absolutely nothing to worry about father.” I muttered as I walked up to him. “You still have me and maybe, you could concentrate on the pack while your personal assistant, Jordan can teach me few things about the Bureau.” I said in a suggestive tone as I supported him back on his swivel chair.

“I don't want this to get to the media. The other Alphas must not know that Liam is dead.” He whimpered as tears gathered up in his eyes. “How could they take my boy away from me? How could they be this cruel?” Tears rolled down his cheeks as he lowered his head.

Is there a contrary saying that there was this unbreakable bond between a father and his first son, the heir to his empire. For the first time, I saw him crying.

“You still have me, father!!” I cursed as I rolled my eyes. There was absolutely no way I could say that to him. He would see me as being desperate for the position of an Alpha.

“I… I will join Peterson now. Everything will be fine and we will catch his killer. I must make sure I avenge my brother's death.” I said in a light growl as I pecked his cheek before walking out.

I grinned as this was the perfect opportunity to get involved in the bureau's affair and also, I now had a better advantage in becoming Alpha. And that also meant that there is absolutely no way the employing panel would turn down Alicia Carlson as far as I got involved in it.

“Young master!?” Othello called out to me I made it to the garage. “I have been assigned as your personal security by your mother and she said I must not leave your sight for once. She is scared that whoever killed Pedro and Liam within a week would definitely come for you.” He said in a calm voice as he trembled.

“You don't have to tremble.” I grinned as I tapped his right shoulder. “Soon, someday, I will be Alpha and if you remain loyal to me, think of how powerful I can make you.” I said as I took the car key from him. “For now, I have got an important place I need to be now.” I said in a cold tone as I smirked.

“But…”

He paused without going further as I looked at him. “Good boy!!” I said with a smile as I rubbed his right cheek as I gave him a stern look. “See you later, Othello!!” I snapped as I entered the car and drove off immediately.

“I warned you, Amber. I warned you not to get anywhere close to my brother. But no, you wouldn't listen.”

I paced about calmly. I maintained my calmness as I walked in circles.

“You shouldn't have returned to New Kingston. You shouldn't have disobeyed me, you know how I hate when disobeyed!!” I growled angrily this time around as she quaked on the chair she was tied to.

“You didn't just disobeyed me once but twice by staying back and also, going ahead to tell Liam about it too. He will be six feet down by the next nightfalls and what about you? Alive?” I chuckled as I grabbed her cheeks as my claws sprouted out slowly, piercing deep into her cheeks as blood poured out.

“If only you had listen, I wouldn't have been the one to end your miserable life. But sadly, I will be ending your miserable life. I would have loved to see you carry his child but then, I can't as well.” I grinned as I brought out the dagger at the back of my trouser which was covered with the coat I was wearing.

“Please don't kill me, Logan. For the sake of the good times we had together. I promise I will leave New Kingston for good and I will never return ever again, Logan.” She pleaded as she kept trying to break free from the rope I had used to tie her.

“You already wasted it. You had the chance to and there's no way I'm letting you live when my brother is dead.” I growled as I looked at the dagger for the last time before pushing it right to her chest.

Tears gathered in her eyes as she looked at me and blood bubbled up from her mouth as she grabbed my hand with her hands. “Lo… gan.” She slurred as she struggled to stay alive.

I pulled out the dagger as she fell to the ground still tied to the chair…
