ALEXIA
I couldn’t help but hesitate at her outstretched hand. However, she took my hand and helped me back up, I still couldn’t respond to what she had said. She also helped me secure my backpack on my back so I had enough room to look at the map and my class schedule at the same time without dropping anything.
"Am I really that scary? You've been staring at me like I’m some kind of predator, I promise I won't bite." She remarked, slapping her open palm on her forehead, an action that indicates her frustration.
"I apologise, let’s just say I’m used to people being nice to me here." I finally responded.
She looked taken aback by my statement for a second. "That should be a fucking crime, I see why anyone would want to be anything but nice to you, you’re adorable!”
I blushed at the compliment. "Could you help me take out my glasses? It’s in my bag." I asked, swiftly turning around, deciding maybe I just couldn't see what I read earlier.
She shook her head, gesturing towards the single paper I was holding. “Luna training.” She reads aloud, pinching the bridge of my nose playfully. “That is so cool.”
"No, it's not. There has been a mistake, I wanted to be enrolled in normal classes. I'm not strong enough for Luna training, also what good is that going to do for me?" I muttered, a bit annoyed at my Dad for the shitty mistake I might be stuck with.
"Who said Luna training was hard? It's probably the simplest class around here, you just have to be taught decision making, politics, hosting and whatever fancy stuff is included in Luna duties.” Politics? And she said it wasn’t hard! I mentally scoffed.
Then I realised I haven’t introduced myself to her yet. "By the way, I’m Alexia. You can call me Lexi for short. What classes are you taking?" I asked, feeling more relaxed around her.
Sensing that, her smile grew wider and then linking our arms together, she led us down the hallway. "Knight training! Y’know sword fighting, spears, arrows and other boring stuff.” The excitement in her voice tells me she enjoys what she signed up for.
No wonder, she has this badass biker chic vibe around her, and the good news was, with her as my new friend no one seemed to be sneering in my direction like before and a few that did, Raven was quick to snarl back at them forcing them to back off!
We were about to enter a classroom when a commotion caught my attention, a couple of girls were whispering and giggling as they walked past us while others lingered, all looking in one direction, curiosity got the better of me, causing me to stop.
Raven noticed I had stopped walking, giving me a careful look she asked. "You don't need to worry, I bet Alpha Killian is heading this way. Girls act crazy when he's around." She informed me, flushing a bit.
"I think we should leave." She quickly spun me around, but we only managed to take a couple of steps when Alpha Killian growl stopped us dead in our tracks! without even turning around, I felt it was directed at us and judging by the terrified look Raven cast at me, I was right.
"Turn around," He ordered slowly but firmly.
We did as we were told, I tried not to look at him because my feelings whenever he was around is so confusing! The two guys standing at either side of him catch my attention briefly. My heart skipped as he began to talk towards me, I was glad that Raven still didn’t let go of my hand cause I was on the verge of passing out.
“Let go of her.” This time, he was addressing Raven, I could feel his feline predatory eyes on me.
“As you wish Alpha.” She lets go of me then, taking a couple of steps back until I realise she wasn’t stopping and the other guys were leaving with her! My eyes widened as a wave of panic washed over me, I looked up at him then.
"Please—" What was I pleading for? Don’t kill me? I had no idea.
"Shut up!" He cuts me off before I had the chance to say whatever I wanted to and my mouth immediately snap shut,
This was getting too much for me to handle, who would have thought my first day at school would be going like this?.
"Your name.” Only he could make a question look like a statement, does he ever ask for anything? And why am I staring at his lips? My body flushed.
"Lexi, I meant Alexia." I answered, feeling a bit uncertain. Despite my fear, my body was reacting in ways that my brain couldn’t keep up, I have butterflies dancing around in my stomach, I also wanted to run to the nearest resroom and puke out the butterflies because they shouldn’t be fucking there!
"Fuck!" He cussed under his breath before abruptly walking away.
He always leaves me speechless with his abrupt departure which always left me feeling more confused. So…that was it? He just asked for my name and left? I didn’t know what I was thinking but that certainly wasn’t it and besides he probably has a destined mate already.
"Well," Raven chuckled, as she reappeared, walking toward me. “He’s scary right? I know I shouldn’t have left you along with him but I couldn’t exactly disobey him.” I melted into her arms when she hugged me.
"He might have done worse if I didn't leave like he ordered, you will get used to how things work around here.” Same thing the principal told me, although I don’t see it happening.
“I noticed you were blushing earlier…” I decided to tease her.
“What? No!” She sharply denies it. “It's just hard not to blush around him after hearing the cheerleaders talk about how good he was in bed, I think someone from the team finally got lucky, they’ve been after him since middle school.”
“Although I wouldn’t mind a piece of that.” She added on a wink, a ugly feeling crawled at my chest which was ridiculous, Alpha Killian was nothing to me, so getting jealous was pointless and unnecessary. “I don’t think I’m his type though.”
I didn’t believe that for a second, Raven has to be everyone’s type and I’m not even kidding. “Does he have a girlfriend? Or a wife?” I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me once again.
“Mate you mean, and no he doesn’t.” She answered, “Let’s just say he isn’t the type to do feelings, according to the rumours that is. I have seen him break the hearts of so many girls due to this.” She placed her hands on my shoulders. “Lexi darling, you need to stay away from him, he’s bad news.”
"Why?" I inquired, my interest piqued. Avoid him? Hello? We are talking about Alpha Killian here, the guy barely knows I exist and he hates my guts. Also Raven thinks he’s out of her league, I won’t even make it to the first round and did I mention that he hates me?
"He usually doesn’t care but for some reason, he’s pissed at you. I mean the guy was glaring at you with hate, he can be pretty ruthless so please stick by me at all times. And when I'm not present, wait for me.” The fact that she was being so nice, made me want to tear up.
"I think it has to do with me being human but thank you." I told her, hugging her once more.
"I hate hugs" She groaned, making me laugh, she hugged me earlier though and it felt nice to be the exception. “Since it’s you, I’m going to let it slide.”
"Good for me because I have plenty of hugs to give!" I announced, playfully.
"C'mon let's get you to your first class," She murmured.
With her around, I was certain I would be safe, especially if I stay as far away from Alpha Killian the psychopath. A totally hot one at that, the universe does punish us in mysterious ways!

ALEXIA Raven ensured that I had settled down in my first class of the day before she left. The minute she left my side, the sneering continued like it never stopped. I was tempered twice to pack up my stuff and leave but since Alpha Killian’s Dad guaranteed my safety, I kept a bold face, pretending they weren’t directed at me. Despite my parents trusting the Alpha in question, I didn’t, especially after meeting his son. Thinking about him has now become an intrusive thought, a brush creeped up my face as I recalled the way he had stared at my lips, the way his face darkened into a storm, making him look impossibly hotter, I shook my head shaking off the imagine and mentally scold myself. An abrupt sound of a fist connecting to my desk snapped me out of my thoughts, startled I looked at the girl in front of me, who looked like I wronged her in more ways than one. ALEXIA You will be fine, I muttered under my breath looking at the tall majestic building in front of me, several heads turned in my direction, a look of displeasure settling over their face. Just like everywhere else, it was clear that I wasn’t welcome here. Reminding myself to ignore them as usual, I walked into the building with my head held high. There were students standing around, chatting, laughing and moving about like they belong here—which they do unlike me. Fortunately the principal had been kind enough to inform my Dad to let me download the school map because gosh! The building was huge! it has this majestic ancient aura even though it was designed as a modern day castle that speaks of wealth, I instantly fell in love with the architecture. I gaped open mouthed at the people in front of me, is everyone a model or something? The guys were so good looking and let’s not talk about the girls!
