ALEXIA
Fortunately, my next class has no Alpha Killian in it! and I was positive that my day will get better from here on, so I took my seat and like the rest, waited for the teacher to show up. I pulled out my note journal because this was the only class that held my interest so far , the history of werewolves…who wouldn’t want to know that? Actually it just history but it has to be history about werewolves right?
“Is this seat taken?” I looked up at the sound, blushing when the voice turned out to be Leo’s, if that’s truly his name because Raven didn’t sound so sure. He was staring down at me with a playful smile on his face.
“I don’t know…” I trailed off, feeling embarrassed for whatever reason. He didn’t seem to mind because he pulled out the chair and took his seat , his eyes still on me.
“What were the odds of us having the same class after just meeting like a few minutes ago.” He glanced at the entrance, temporarily distracted by the teacher that walked in.
“Given that we attend the same school, I’m pretty sure the odds are high.” I pointed out, I didn’t mean it to be funny but he ended up laughing anyway.
The conversation died down there as the teacher began to speak, from the corner of my eyes I could still feel his gaze on me, which made me very self-conscious. Like I get it! He hasn’t seen or interacted with humans before but he really should tone down on the staring. I soon managed to block it out as the teacher went deeper into the history of werewolves, how they came about and stuff.
To my mundane mind, it was the most fascinating story I’ve ever heard and when the class finally came to an end, I remained unmoving, soaking up the knowledge of what I just learned. I glanced down at my journal, realizing for the first time, I have a page full of dictating!
“Do you plan to ever leave?” I jolted back to present at the sound of Leo’s voice. “By the way, I’m Leonard.” He introduced, stretching out his hand for a handshake as he stood up.
“I’m Alexia, nice to meet you.” I shook his hand, mentally applauding myself for keeping a straight face.
“I will see you around then, Alexia.” The emphasising on the pronunciation of my name by him, gave me a brief flashback to when Killian had done the same thing which made my face heat up.
After he was gone, I stayed behind for a few minutes, putting myself under control before I left the classroom and it just happened that I ran into Raven, who was heading toward my class. “So…how was your third lesson? It’s third right?” She asked, wanting to confirm.
I nodded. “Yes!” My voice rose a little, earning me a few dirty looks from passing by as if they were quiet themselves. “This is actually my first lesson that I enjoyed and I have so many questions!” I showed her my journal.
“Really? That many?” She laughed. “We will have what we need in the library, pardon me for not knowing all our history or remembering them.” She joked as we made our way to the library.
“I’m not even going to judge because, same here.” We both laughed but quiet down as we walked into the library, we grabbed the textbooks we needed and found a spot to settle down.
“So…what do you want to know? How to avoid Alpha Killian? Too bad there’s nothing in here that could help with that but hey! You could be the first person to write a book about that.” I playfully nudged her side.
“And give him a real reason to have me executed.” I pointed out. “I want to know more about werewolves like the teacher spoke about how you people are allergic to silver, how does that work anyway? Is it like the way vampires are afraid of sunlight?”
Her nose crunched up at the mention of vampires, yeah it no news that both species if I should call them that because using creatures sound much worse, hate each other and now humans are also making the list and from the look of how things are going, we might even beat vampires as their top mortal enemy.
“Silver doesn’t actually kill us, unlike how sunlight kills those dreadful creatures. It just weakens, the burns of silver on our skins isn’t harsh enough to kill us but to weaken us.” She paused, watching my face for a reaction. “What’s the next question?”
“That’s interesting really.” I remarked, checking my note for the next question. “Why do werewolves howl? Is it the same reason wolf howls? And why do you look at the moon when you do?” I’m so thankful she didn’t find my questions silly and is more than happy to answer them.
She lets out a chuckle at my last statement. “Where have you been reading that? We do not howl at the moon, nor do wolves. We howl into the distance to summon our pack, warn them about any threat and communicate with them but only in our wolf forms, as humans we use mind links, which is equivalent to us howling in our wolf forms.” She explained.
“Wowwwwwwww.” I dragged out the words. “So you can communicate with people using your mind? Like telepathically?”
“Only members of the same pack…” She stopped talking for whatever reason and I opened my mouth to add something when I glimpsed the librarian in front of us.
“You are sitting face to face with the library rules and regulations! And it never occurred to you that it’s there for a reason? You humans have always been known to be lawless!” He sneered, looking directly at me and acting like I was having the discussion some and not with someone!
“I know right? She hasn’t shut up since she walked in here.” Someone chimed in and I didn’t bother to turn around and find out who.
“I want to see you in detention after school and you are no longer welcome at the library until you have proven yourself to respect and abide by the laws of the library!” Geez! You’d think I just committed a crime.
“That’s not fair!” Raven burst out. “In fact I was making most of the noise, it’s not right to punish her for something we both did!”
He glared at her. “I’m letting you go off with a warning because it’s clear you’re under the human influence, I won’t be so kind next time and if you know what's best for you, you should stop hanging out with such lawless nuisance!” He hissed, now directing his glare at me.
Tears burned my eyes and while Raven stood there ready to fight him, I quietly slipped out before I embarrassed myself further by bursting into tears. I hurried into the girls bathroom and after making sure no one was in there, I finally allowed myself to cry.
My parents had suggested and particularly forced me to come here thinking as long as the Alpha approves then everything will be fine! I couldn’t wait to get home and tell them in detail how wrong they’ve been but then something stopped me as realization drew on me.
My Dad now works for them, he works with other scientists so there’s a chance he’s probably going through the same thing as me. They will always have something to say due to the fact that he’s human and no chance did he come home and complain, well maybe to my Mom.
And my Mom was probably going through it too. It's clear she’s having trouble making friends here, all she does when we are not at home is lock herself in her office writing. She’s a writer, how does she feel writing a book and knowing people won’t probably buy it because the author is human.
Which brings me to my million dollar question, then why are we here? I opened the sink tap and splashed some water on my face. The door rattle behind me just as I was beginning to notice the other weird sinks, as I turned to look, my heart skipped as the person who walked in turned out to be Alpha Killian!
What the hell is in the ladies bathroom? His eyes reflected his surprise which is the first emotion beside anger and…I stopped myself before my mind pushed me back to that kiss! The surprise only lasted for a second and was soon replaced by the familiar anger.
I retreated as he advanced towards me, my heart was racing so much it was making me feel. When my side bumped into something, I stopped moving backwards realizing it was a dead end. Clearing my throat, I grabbed my note and tried to leave. I didn’t make it past him when his fingers crawled around my upper hand, bringing me to a halt.
“What the fuck are you doing in the boys bathroom?” He demanded, his face darkening like an angry storm.
Oh?
Ohhhh…!
That explains the weird sinks! I have been so upset I didn’t notice the place I walked into but how do I explain that to him? Why do I even need to? I owe him no explanation! He lets go of me, and goes off kicking the toilet door as if he’s expecting someone to be hiding there.
“Where is the fucker?” He demanded, grabbing my shoulders and shaking me for some answers.
What fucker? Did he think I was making out with someone in here? Some noise from outside the bathroom briefly caught my attention, God no! People are outside listening to this! “I came in here by mistake okay?” I was near tears now. “I was upset and…just let me go please!” I crumbled then, breaking into a full blown sob.
The hands gripping my shoulder goes gentle. “Who did this?” He asked, moving his finger over my face to wipe my tears. “Talk to me, Alexia.”
Am I imagining this right now? I looked up at him, my eyes filled with confusion and some other emotion I didn’t even want to have. “ Nobody.” I replied, stepping out of his hold and putting some distance between us.
“Then that nobody is going to pay.” He walked away after that, and I stood there gaping after him until he disappeared outside the door!

ALEXIA I was physically exhausted and mentally as well by the time I arrived home. Today has been one of the weirdest days I’ve had in a long time and frankly speaking, I don’t remember having any weird day except now. A month or so ago, if someone had told me my life would drastically change, I would have laughed and called them crazy! “I’m home!” I announced, heading for the stairs, while also waiting for any sign of my Mom. She came out of the kitchen a while later, a glass of juice in one hand and a plate filled with cookies in the other hand. “I’ll be in my room.” I added, knowing definitely she was going to come after me. Once I was in my room, I threw my backpack on my queen size bed before dropping down on it. My fingers tangled in my curls as I absently looked at the ceiling, my mind still very much occupied with what happened between Killian and I at the boys bathroom. It was weird right? And yet my stupid mind would stop having a fixation on it, the way he had grabbed
ALEXIA Humming softly under my breath, I walked slowly down the stairs to join my parents downstairs and my Mom questioning look made me realize I had unconsciously put extra effort in my outfit choice. I looked down at myself as I approached them, convinced it was something I would wear on a normal day and it’s not like I was trying to impress anyone, right? “Good to see you in a better mood, I’ll take it as your first day was a pleasant one huh?” Dad teased, picking up an apple from the fruit bowl and biting into it. “She’s already making friends and from the look of things, I think there’s a boy in the picture.” Mom added, causing him to pause and look at me, as if I just walked into the room. He cleared his throat, pinning me a stern parental look that had my Mom placing a hand over his shoulder. She whispered something into his ear which caused his shoulders to visibly relax. “Well, look at that, I’m almost late for work.” He said, leaning over to kiss his wife goodbye. “Wha
ALEXIAI hate, hate, hate, hate and hate Killian! Words couldn’t express how much I hated him and the fact that I didn’t hate him as much as I would want to, makes me hate him more if that makes any sense. Raven was silent beside me as we made our way to a table, my eyes hurt from the effort it’s taking me to hold back my tears. “He usually keeps to himself.” I looked up when she finally spoke. “Now he’s going out of his way to be mean, that’s uncalled for and not fair at all!” She finished, holding my stare. “I really don’t care.” I replied, trying to shrug it off. “He’s just being the way everyone is to me, no big deal.” At this point, I wasn’t quite sure if I was trying to convince her or myself…maybe both. “Another thing you don’t know about werewolves is that we can tell when someone is lying. He kissed you and he’s now going out of his way to get rid of you, that’s a very confusing emotion to stir up inside someone. I feel like he’s punishing you for something, I heard your D
ALEXIA I cleared my throat, because the last thing I wanted was to be his partner so what better way to get out of it by pretending not to have heard him? I casually look around the class, my gaze resting on the girl sitting a few seats away from me. I stood up to approach her when firm fingers crawled around my wrist, stopping me from leaving. As if knowing my intention and without even looking at me, he jerked me down to my seat. “I wasn’t asking.” He stated, letting go off my wrist while glaring at me. “I don’t want to be your partner.” I blurted out, meeting his glare with one of my own. “This project will be covering half of my semester’s grades, I want someone who will put as much effort as it takes.” His lips stretched into a smirk that had me staring at him, feeling hot and flustered by his presence, I squirmed in my seat. “Too bad, what you think doesn’t matter Jackson.” “Sorry, am I interrupting?” I jerked backward, startled when the teacher’s sharp voice cut into our
ALEXIA “Isn’t there supposed to be an egg in there?” Raven’s confused voice broke into my shocked state. Her eyes widened as I slowly nodded at her question. “What? Someone stole your project!” Wow, thanks for stating the obvious Raven, I thought sarcastically before deciding I had misplaced anger. “I don’t understand, no one knows the combination to my locker and the emergency key is always with me.” I ran my fingers tiredly into my curls, causing my fingers to get stuck in the tangle web. “The culprit must have picked the locks, we need to report this!” She hissed, anger evidence in her voice. I nodded, carrying my backpack along as we went to the principal office to report the missing egg. Again, I tried thinking of anyone who could have done this and I couldn’t come up with anyone specific. It's no news that I’m hated here but who hates me enough to go out of their way to hurt me? My mind drifted off to Killian as I recalled the conversation I overheard the other day with th
ALEXIA Raven was the first person I started looking for when I arrived at school the following morning, not that I have any other friend to look for anyone. After the way I spoke to her yesterday when all she was trying to do was help me, I could have handled the situation better than that. I stopped by my locker, a small part of me hoping whoever took my project put it back after experiencing some miraculous change of heart. Opening my locker, I was trifling with disappointment when there was no sign of an egg there. I sensed someone moving up behind me and that caused me to turn around sharply. I felt myself relaxed when the person turned out to be Raven. “Hi!” I said, a bit awkwardly since I wasn’t sure if she was mad at me or something. “I’m sorry for the way I spoke to you yesterday, all you were trying to do was help and I was being difficult.” I added the apology while I held my breath and waited for her to respond. “I understand, I’m glad you’re in a much better mood today
ALEXIA His statement hung between us in silence for a couple of seconds before I opened the door and exited the room without giving him a reply or even looking back at him. I made my way back to class, relieved that the mystery behind my project had been resolved. No sooner than I sat down, Izzie approached my desk making me think she had been lying about where she kept the egg. She handed it to me, her lips pressed into a thin line as if trying to suppress the need to say something rude. Keeping my eyes on her, I examined the egg, making sure there wasn’t any crack on it. “Thank you.” I muttered, glancing up at her when she still lingered. “Is there anything else I can help you with?” I passively asked her. “I can’t leave…unless you accept my apology.” She answered, pulling at her fingers while directly avoiding my gaze. “But you didn’t apologize.” “I’m sorry.” She replied, making a face that implied her apology wasn’t sincere and honestly, that part wasn’t so shocking to me.
ALEXIA I hurried out of the classroom after school dismissal, an incoming text message from my phone made me stop abruptly in my tracks. A text from Raven telling me she’s waiting for me at the parking lot and another one from my Mom, letting me know she might not be home until later. Her own text showed it was sent hours ago, meaning it probably came in while I was at the cafeteria or in class. Putting my phone back inside my backpack, I was on the verge of leaving but was forced to a stop as Izzie appeared in front of me. I frowned at her, wondering what the hell she wanted while also taking note of the fact that she wasn’t alone. I flinched when she stretched out her hand, but then I noticed she was gesturing towards my backpack. I don’t know but things would be so much easier if she always started with words. “Do you mind?” I hissed, frowning at her. “I’m here to carry your things, ‘Killian said, I have to earn your forgiveness’ so if you want me to get out of your hair then a
ALEXIA I couldn’t be more relieved when school hours ended, because wearing Killian’s hoodie was getting me more attention than I usually received and it’s never the good kind. I stopped outside the classroom, my eyes searching for Raven in the crowd of people making their way out of the school building but there was no sign of her, usually she would be out here waiting for me. “Looking for me?” I turned sideways as Leo came up beside me, if I hadn't been too distracted, I would have noticed him approaching. “Hi.” I said, returning my attention back to what I was doing before he interrupted. “I’m actually looking for Raven, something must have held her up because she’s usually out here waiting for me. Maybe she hasn’t left her department yet, so I better go look for her there.” I joined the line of students, heading for the exit. He fell into steps beside me, adjusting his backpack over his shoulders. “Would have loved to come but I have practice. Tell Raven I said hi…” his voice
ALEXIA I felt powerless against them as they dragged me into the toilet but before they had the chance to carry out their threats, the bell rang, causing them to pause and looked at Izzie for directions on what to do next. From the dynamics of the group, I could tell she was their leader and they were her minions and unless they wanted to catch bullying someone…well in this case since the bullied one happens to be a human, I doubt anyone was going to bait an eye. “Let her go.” She ordered, her face set angrily at me. “Saved by the bell but next time you won’t be so fucking lucky! Consider what happened as a warning, a tip of the ice-berg because I’ll make life a living hell for you, if you don’t go ahead and tell Killian you’ve granted me your useless forgiveness.” I stared at her as water dripped from my hair down to my face, which resulted in me shivering from coldness. I said nothing, watching them leave one after the other, casually talking about what they were going to have f
ALEXIA His hand left the back of my neck to cup my face, his lips capturing my upper lip in a very slow, sensual way. His movement was deliberately slow yet passionate as if he were whispering so,e unknown secret to me. Wrapping his other hand around my waist and using it to pull me even closer to his frame, a breathy moan escaped me when my pelvis jammed into his. My hands moved to wrap around his neck and as if sensing that, he stepped back slightly not breaking the kiss until my arms were firmly wrapped around his neck, locking us in a tight embrace. When another breathless moan slips out of me, his movement grows urgent, hungry and impatient, making my knees go weak. At that moment, it didn’t matter if he hated me or I hated the feeling he easily aroused within me, nothing else mattered but the feel of his lips on mine, the hungry way he kissed me or the gentle but firm hold he had around my waist. Giving in to the urge I had ever since he stepped out of the shower, I slowly wi
ALEXIA Shattering the moment between us, he threw his head back and laughed. A rich, deep sound coming from deep within his chest. Being under the effect of his laughter, a smile spread across my face but then a sharp knock on the door put a temporary end to the moment. While still staring at me, he breaks away to answer the door and I stood there mentally scolding myself for my inability to control my emotions where he was concerned. I couldn’t help it, it‘s like each time I’m near him, there’s a universal force that seems to push those feelings past my defenses to the surface. “Here are the nesting materials you ordered us to get you Alpha.” I blinked out of my thoughts on hearing the servant’s statement. Well, guess someone cared more than they were letting me believe, I thought looking directly at Killian as the servants set the items down. Once they left, and with a startling realization that I have no idea how to build a freaking nest! “We should eat.” He abruptly announced
ALEXIA I looked up from my phone as I felt the car slowing down in front of a shiny black iron gate. A few seconds later, the double gate started to slide open causing me to stare wordlessly at the mansion it revealed. I have never been to the pack house before or even imagined what it would look like but it doesn’t matter because my imagination wouldn’t have prepared me for the magnificent view in front of me. Wild plants stood at either side of the long driveway to the mansion entrance. I wanted to baldly get down from the car so I could absorb the view at a slower pace. We drove past a water fountain, a large wolf sitting at the top, giving an illusion of a wolf growling at a threat while the waters danced around it. Before we reached the entrance, Killian cornered the car into another driveway and soon enough I found out this led to the garage. There were guards in uniform as well as different varieties of vehicles I couldn’t even begin to name, some I recognized and most I did
