Chapter 1

Trinity's POV

"When are you going to break up with Trinity?" I vaguely heard someone mention my name. It piqued my curiosity.

If I had my wolf, my hearing and smell would be very sensitive. Then, I didn't have to walk over. Unfortunately, I hadn't been able to shift yet.

Through the crack of the door, I saw my boyfriend Trystan Hogan and my sister Briana Webb lying in the bed half naked. Briana lay half of her body on Trystan, and her finger was drawing circles on his chest. Obviously, it was she who had just asked the question.

My eyes widened, my mind was a mass, and my heart began to ache. I wanted to run away but my whole body was stiffened, and I couldn't move my legs or even turn my eyes away.

Trystan seemed to be unhappy hearing the question. He grabbed her hand and said, "Don't mention her name."

But Briana didn't give up. She raised her head and looked at Trystan with dissatisfaction. "I've had enough. You have to give me an answer now."

So, it was not the first time they did it behind me. I couldn't believe that just a few hours ago, Trystan had said that he missed me on the phone. I felt sorry for not being able to stay with him after hearing it. But it turned out to be a lie, and I was too stupid to believe it.

A rage arose in my body, and I couldn't stand it anymore. I kicked the door open. "I can give you an answer."

I looked at Trystan and said, "We are done."

Trystan was surprised to see me. He pushed Briana away and sat up. "Trinity, why are you here? Oh, I can explain this."

I couldn't move but clenched my fist tightly. My nails were stuck into the flesh. The pain from my palms kept my tears from falling down.

It was my first year at university. Trystan asked me to be his girlfriend in front of the whole university. I still remembered how elated and proud I was at that time. Trystan was handsome and sporty, and he was the Alpha's son of the Hogan pack. It could be said that he was the dream boy of the whole university. All my friends were jealous of me.

Trystan had wanted to mark me many times. But I refused. Because I hadn't been able to shift yet.

Werewolves could only know whether they were mates after they had shifted. And the mark between mates would be blessed by the Moon Goddess.

I wanted Trystan and me to be blessed. So I asked him to wait. Trystan said he respected me and would wait for me.

For so many times, I begged the Moon Goddess to make me shift.  But I guessed I was forgotten by the Moon Goddess.

We had been together for four years. But I had never doubted Trystan's love for me once.

I never expected our relationship to end like this. All I knew was that there was no way back.

Briana recovered from startle. She said to me pitifully, "Trinity, I'm sorry. But I can't control my feelings."

I turned to look at her.

Since she was a kid, she always liked to grab what belonged to me, food, toys, and clothes. As long as she liked it, she would ask me to give it to her. As the elder sister, I rarely refused her. But this time, she had gone too far.

My heart was broken and couldn't be fixed.

I suddenly felt sick in my stomach. I suppressed the nausea and tried my best to say indifferently, "You can have him."

I couldn't stay in the room anymore and immediately turned around to leave.

But as soon as I turned around, I saw my father, Donald Webb, and stepmother, Marisa Lutz, arrive at the door.

Seeing me, Donald frowned and asked, "What happened?"

I didn't know how to say it, so I kept silent.  Donald pushed me to the side.

When he saw Trystan and Briana in bed, he got furious.

"What you have done!" He rushed forward and wanted to beat Trystan.

Marisa stopped him. "Don't be mad. Let's find out what happened first."

"Isn't it clear enough?" Donald shouted angrily. "Briana is engaged. Look what she has done. How do I marry her to the Vaughan pack?"

He didn't even bother to give me a look. Marisa grabbed Donald's arm and said, "Calm down. Don't wake up the others."

Her words reminded Donald. He snorted but didn't say anything.

I stood aside, watching them expressionlessly. It seemed that they had forgotten about me.

Briana saw Marisa and immediately cried out, "Mom. Don't blame us. Trystan is my mate. I... I'm pregnant."

My heart skipped a beat. I couldn't believe it. A female werewolf could have a baby with her mate.

Briana had Trystan's baby. It meant that they were really mates and were blessed by the Moon Goddess. So, what about me? Did that mean my four years with Trystan were just a waste of time?

"You..." Donald pointed at Briana and was too angry to finish a sentence. "You're so stupid."

Marisa walked over and held Briana in her arms. "Donald, it's no use blaming Britain now. What happened has happened. What we need to do is to find a solution for this."

"How do I know what to do?" Donald said with resentment.

Briana buried her head into Marisa's arms and cried harder, "Trystan is my mate. I can't live without him."

Her words were like a knife stabbed into my heart again. I didn't say anything, just letting my heart bleed inside.

Marisa patted Briana's back gently. She cast me a glance and then said to Donald, "Now Briana is pregnant. She can't marry the Vaughan pack like this."

Her glance made me nervous. I had a bad feeling.

Donald stomped. "If the Vaughan pack knew about it, they would not spare us. Do you know how powerful they are? I could have gotten a lot of investment from them and made my pack thrive. But now, they only need to move a finger to make our pack bankrupt."

Marisa continued, "They don't need to know, Donald. It's not like you have only one daughter."

Donald and I both raised our heads instantly. I saw he stared at Marisa with confusion at first and then slowly turned to me. He hesitated.

"No, please. Don't..." I begged secretly.

Marisa's voice sounded. "Donald, we don't have a choice. You are the Alpha. You have to take care of your pack."

Donald still hesitated.

Marisa sighed and walked to me. She stood in front of me, held my hands with one hand, and covered them with the other hand.

I was trembling and tried to withdraw my hands. But Marisa held them tight. "Trinity, your father loves you. But he has a whole pack on his shoulder. Think about it. The Vaughan pack is the most powerful and wealthiest pack in the country. It's not that bad to marry into such a powerful pack."

"No. It's not my fault. Why do I have to make up for someone else's mistake?" I refused.

Marisa added some strength to her hands and said, "Don't refuse so soon. If you substitute for Briana, I can afford all the medical expenses of Maci."

I raised my head instantly, and our eyes met in the air. "I know Maci's condition is not good. She doesn't have much time left."
