Lorenzo

I stared at the financial reports scattered across my desk, my mind engrossed in the numbers and projects. Suddenly, my phone rang, shattering the silence. I hesitated before answering, hoping it wasn't another interruption.

"Eva?" I said, concern evident in my voice.

Silence.

"Hello? Are you there?" I repeated.

No response.

The line went dead.

My worry grew as I tried calling Eva back, but she didn't pick up. I sent a text: "Hey, what's going on? Are you alright?"

Eva obviously saw and read the message but didn't reply.

My anxiety escalated. Just then, my secretary walked in.

"What's going on, Miss Evelyn? You can't just barge in here for no reason," I said, my voice laced with frustration.

Her expression was uncharacteristically worried. "I'm so sorry, sir, but I came to ask if you've checked the internet today?"

My curiosity piqued. "No, why?"

"Everyone's spreading rumors that you broke up with Eva," Miss Evelyn said, her voice filled with concern.
