CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

SARA

The soft morning light filtering through the curtains of the room, as I slowly opened my eyes.

For the first time in what felt like an eternity, the tightness in my chest had lessened, the throbbing pain in my head had dulled, and the heavy fog of sickness had begun to lift.

I could breathe a little easier now, though each breath still felt like a hard won battle.

I turned my head slightly to see Eden beside me, his strong hand wrapped gently around me.

Our eyes met, his eyes usually so fierce and commanding, were filled with concern, but there was relief there too, as if a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He smiled gently.

“How are you feeling, my love?” he asked, his voice was low and tender.

I took a deep breath, “Better, I feel better.” I whispered

Eden's smile widened, and he leaned forward to press a soft kiss on my forehead. “Thank the goddess, I have been so worried.” he murmured, as his lips lingered against
