Don't rush

ALICIA’S P.O.V

My father had never kept anything secret from me before. We had always shared our deepest pains together, I know he isn’t fine and I have to find out what is going on.

“What happened dad?” I muttered while I watched him walk upstairs. Marcus was the last person I knew he was with so I think that was the first place to start. As early as 10 a.m. the next morning, after making a meal for Eddie and myself I went up to his room to check up on him. I thought he was already prepared for work but he wasn't. He had refused to leave his room since last night.

When I walked inside I saw him lying on the bed with his eyes fixed on the ceiling.

“Good morning dad,” I greeted.

“Morning sweetheart,” he replied gently, still gazing at the ceiling.

“Aren’t you supposed to be at work right now?” I asked curiously.

“I don’t feel like going to the office today, I asked my colleague to fill my space, I need to rest,” he answered.

“Are you sure you are alright?” I asked, gently taking a seat
