Chapter 03

THE SUN RISES in the city of Tucson, Arizona, when Cole arrived at the house of his old friend Leo who will let him live in its house while his doing the search to find his Luna. Cole sees that Leo living his life in the city away from the packs just to live peacefully without any thoughts of the harm that the black wolves can do.

“You live well and in luxury here in the city, Leo,” Cole commented while eyeing the whole place of his old friend.

“I worked my butt off to gain this, Cole, living here in the city is also not easy but as long that I want to live peacefully, I endured all the hardship and sacrifice everything, which included me leaving my family behind in the pack,” Leo answered as he sits on his sofa while Cole is looking at him.

“Did…Did abuelo say anything before you go here to the city?” Leo asks not looking at Cole who sits on the other sofa.

“Pedro doesn’t want to speak nor hear your name in the packs, he still harbors anger, and sulking after you leave.”

“Is that so? How about my sister?” Leo asks again now directly looking at Cole who crosses his legs.

Leo doesn’t have a doubt that Cole is a well-fitted alpha of their packs, it has a strong aura and presence that will intimidate the enemies. But despite that, Cole is a kind, gentle alpha when it comes to the packs he wants to protect.

“Irina is doing well.”

“That’s good to know, I know abuelo will still never forgive the decision I made. Oh well, at least they're safe, that’s all matter to me.” Leo said with a smile on his lips when Cole looks at his friend with a serious look.

“The packs are not safe, Leo, the black wolves in the leading of Samuel was trying to eliminate all white packs. He sends his scout to our territory to know and give information if they can attack or not.”

“That scoundrel shitty wolf! He really wants to kill you to be the new alpha who will lead the white and black wolves and uses them against the humans.” Leo said gritting his teeth because of the harm that can cause by the black wolves.

“That’s why I decided to come here to the city to fulfill what the prophecy told about a baby who will have the blood of an alpha that will stop the chaos. That’s why I need to find my fated mate, my Luna.” Cole explained that made Leo sit properly while staring at Cole.

Leo knows that Cole doesn’t have the slightest desire to have a Luna, a wife, to enter into a commitment, because Cole only wants is to lead and guide the white packs.

“I heard that prophecy to abuelo before, but I didn’t think that you will really find your Luna as that prophecy said. You can protect the packs without fulfilling that, you don’t like commitment to that kind of relationship, Cole.”

“I’m the alpha of our pack, their lives depend on me. Even I don’t want to enter into that kind of commitment, If the packs were in danger I will take out my pride and do what’s needed to do.”

“Fine, I will not contradict you in what you said but, why do you need to come here to the city to find your Luna? We have female white wolves who’re dying to be with you as your Luna, especially my sister Irina.” Leo said with a confused look while staring at Cole who sighed.

“That’s the fucking problem I’m facing right now, Leo,” Cole said as Leo see the frustration in his friend.

“Problem? What’s the problem with that?”

“I tried to find my fated Luna within the female wolves of our packs, but most of those women I have sex with died after I took them. Irina offers herself, but I don’t want to risk her life and…”

“But you just like Irina as your little sister, I know that. I really do pity my little sister because the man he loves rejec---“

“—if you're that concerned about your little sister, then why not fucking go home and comfort her you asshole. I didn't reject her, I care for your sister.” Cole cut the words to Leo who just laughed at his reaction.

“I’m just kidding here, man, I know you care about my sister, and thank you for that. Back to your problem, if those women you bed with died after you have sex with them, then, only your Luna can take you and conceive the baby said in the prophecy, right?” Leo ask made Cole nodded landing his back on the sofa and closing his eyes because finding his Luna is not easy, he knows that.

“If your mate is not in the packs, then you came here in the city to find her. Do you know how many white wolves are scattered in different cities in Arizona? I bet you knew that Arizona has 91 cities and towns, how will you find your mate? Tucson is one of the five largest cities in Arizona, and not all white wolves’ stay--“

“---my mate can be a wolf like me or a human, Leo,” Cole said that interrupting Leo, to what he was saying.

“What? Do you think a human can be your mate? Seriously?”

“Do I fucking look like I’m kidding here?” Cole questioned Leo with a deadpan look.

“A human mate of an alpha?”

“The prophecy also mentioned that, but it has a less probability. But even that, wolves or humans can be my mate if she was my fated Luna.” Cole said that made Leo stand up and start to walk back and forth while thinking about what Cole said to him.

“Okay, wolves or humans can be your fated mate that will fulfill the prophecy that will save our packs. Then how will you find her? You said that all women wolves you have sex with are dead, are you going to have sex with every woman to find you, Luna?” Leo asks as he was confused at Cole’s need to do fulfill what was written in the prophecy.

“What do you fvcking think of me? A sex addict? A maniac? Do you want me to strangle your neck until you can’t fucking breathe, Leo?”

“What? I’m just confused that’s why I’m asking you.” Leo said, who was very puzzled about what Cole will do to find his Luna.

“There’s a way so I can distinguish and find my Luna.” Cole's answer, made Leo sit beside him while wanting to hear the reason he mentioned.

“How?”

“It’s the pheromones scent, my fated Luna has that scent that will attract only me,” Cole answered when Leo’s eyebrows met with what he heard from Cole.

“A pheromones scent? Wait? Correct me if I’m wrong but, pheromones scent was a scent that an alpha will smell to a female Omega, your mate should be an Omega.” Leo said that made Cole confused.

“An Omega?”

“Yeah, and no human can’t be an omega. Why the prophecy has written that a human can be an alpha mate? That’s confusing.” Leo commented that Cole takes his phone to call Jacob.

After a few rings, Jacob answered Cole.

(If you call, buddy to ask the state of our territory, don’t worry, Gabriel and other wolves guard very well, every corner of our teri---)

“That’s not the reason why I called, Jacob, I just need you to clarify this question.”

(Question? What question?)

“Leo told me that my Luna, who has this pheromone scent, should be an omega. Is it written in the book of prophecy?” Cole directly asked Jacob, who didn’t answer him.

There were seconds of silence when Cole heard a loud noise and Jacob’s voice moaning in pain.

(Damn! I tripped down on the fucking floor.)

“Are you that stupid, Jacob?”

(I’m just a bit shocked at what you ask. How did Leo know about that?)

Cole looks at Leo, who’s looking at him.

“Jacob asks how you know about the omega and its scent.”

“I just heard it when I was still in the packs, I heard voices talking about that, then, when I tried to look for those voices, they were gone,” Leo answered.

“Do you find it in the book, Jacob?”

(That’s weird, I didn’t notice it sooner but some pages were torn out.)

“What?!”

(I’ll call you back, Cole.)

Jacob ended his call, while Cole was confused about what was happening, as he looked again at Leo, who just shrugged his shoulders at him when Leo remembered something that made him quickly stand that made Cole startled a bit.

“Oh shoot! I have company I need to handle, damn!” Leo said and abruptly stood up and ran toward his room to prepare and left Cole in the sala still thinking about the omega Leo mentioned.

“If only an omega had that scent, and my Luna had to be an omega, how would I find her if the lineage of omega had been annihilated years ago,” Cole said to himself, thinking his mission to find his Luna became harder and impossible.
