Arabella's POV

I lifted my nose in the air and sniffed around. Everyone was silent and I was still. Only my heart was beating. My eyes were wide open and my ears perked up and ready to pick up any movement, but then, nothing.

"Are you sure about that, Luna?" The head guard asked me. I nodded. I was very sure about what I had heard. There were no two ways about it.

Something was present with us.

"Scan the environment, look around for footprints, hairs, or even fingerprints. Scour the place clean and bring me whatever you find" the head guard said.

I sat proudly in the car while I watched everyone disband into the woods. It was only the head guard and I left.

"While they are gone, why don't we head home?"

I nodded my head in agreement and he came back into the car. He ignited the engine and off we went.

However, as we drove through the wet tarred floor of the highway that stood in between a thick forest, I couldn't help feeling that an eye was still set on us.

Arabella's POVLately, I had begun to feel so much pain around my lower back, abdomen, and even my breasts. My legs had swollen up and my nose was drawing longer. My claws sharpened overnight and my heart rate increased, not to mention the numerous times I was always feeling tired and stressed.I met with the healers and doctors who told me they were certain I was going through pregnancy stages. I was in the last season of it.I moaned in pain on the healer's table while she stuck her hand in me. It was much worse than when the witches did so and asked Asher to join them. It was like three people were fixing their hands inside of me."We should be expecting your child very soon. His head is almost at the opening of your vagina, Luna"It felt cringe to hear her say that in public but I didn't mind. Not with the pain that stung me multiple times at the back of my head. She could do as much as she desired, just ease my suffering.I walked out of the healer's room in a wheelchair. My lowe

Asher's POVArabella was not too excited about the news I had told to her. I could understand why. When my father died, I was broken and I couldn't think straight for a week.My father was my all. He was on my side always. Because of my father, I was confident and I was happy. I always felt untouchable when I was with him. My mother was on my sister's side and my father took mine. He would occasionally take my sister's side but he was mostly on mine.Everything was going well with our pieces of training for me to become a great alpha like him. He taught me to run better. To speak better. To command respect and to be empathetic. We had gone for one more run and come back when I asked Father for the last one."Father, I think we should go to that side," I said to him when I pointed over the mountain."You should not go there, Asher" he looked into my eyes with his blue eyes. We had the same eyes and the same nose. He even angled his face just like mine when he was confused."Why not?!

Arabella's POVI had been thinking deeply about if my father was alive. If he was, it would have altered everything! I would have killed someone innocent.I shook my head. It had to be a lie.I was still in bed, thinking when I heard someone knock on the door."Come in!" I yelled. A maid opened the door slowly with her hands behind her back. She came to me first but I could sense there were others with her.She had her head low and her face straight."What is it?!" I yelled at her.She shook her head, asking if my night went well. I huffed. I didn't want to be bothered and I reminded her of that but here she was."It must be something important for you to come into my room when I had asked not to be disturbed".She told me of some women who had come to see me."They looked pitiful and I thought you should see them. I could not have the heart to turn them away". She pleaded.I was grumpy about it as I rolled my eyes at her and tried to place my swollen legs on the floor. My legs now l

Alpha Asher’s POVI swallowed hard. My blood was next?... What did he mean?I turned around quickly, only to be greeted by the sight of nothing. “Hello… is someone there?” the little pup that I was whispering to.The woods I was in were so silent that I could hear myself. My whisper had turned to a loud echo. It frightened me.A cold wind blew through where I was. It came too suddenly and slowly. Along with it, came music. I was sure I had heard a woman sing, or maybe it was a figment of my imagination, I just couldn’t tell.“Helloo…” Again. No one. I turned away from the old haunted hut and began to walk back through the path I had come from. With everything I had seen so far, I didn’t feel the need to be adventurous anymore. I just wanted to go home.My steps were fast and orderly. I tried to calm my young self for as long as I could, yet, my mind was chaotic. My feet arched in pa

Arabella's POV I opened my eyes to see myself being carried somewhere. The bright lights lit up the hallway and I could see the bulbs moving as they dragged the wheelchair I was in. "Get ready to have everything laid out. We'll be moving in, in five" was what I heard someone say beside me. I slowly turned to see what was happening. "Who.. who .. are.. you?"I stammered. "What's going on?" The man in a white coat asked me to take it easy. He hushed me and then asked me to take a deep breath. "It's going to be alright, you just need rest. We'll take care of the rest, Luna". I could not understand a thing. "Take care of what?!" My lips felt heavy but I was still trying to talk. "Someone get me some shots. I need to administer them now!" The man yelled. Someone pushed me forward while he left me alone and grabbed a couple of white gloves presented to him by another woman in blue scrubs. Getting information from him was exhausting so I decided to make a mental picture of what was

Alpha Asher's POV The rogue still had me in his hand. My drowsy eyes tried their best to still open while he sucked my blood but they were almost failing. I remembered it like yesterday.I was losing my little self and fast too. My chest rose and fell slowly. I wanted to struggle but the little I knew already, if I fought more, I would lose more blood. What was disheartening was that the creature had my father's face.It made contact with my eyes and smiled at me as it drained me of my energy. He even gave me a mean grin and a wink. "Get off my son".My eyes raised themselves to see my father pushing him off my body. The rogue nearly tore my arm off my body as he had a mean grip on me with his teeth.Father did not relent, he went further to attack."You have no right to try that!" He pushed further and banged the rogue with his foot, on his face. A little more nudge and the rogue's teeth left me.He peeled his lips off me and forcefully turned to attack my father.Father evaded

Asher's POV:I was still deep in thought when my phone rang. I pulled it out of my back pocket, while I tried to wipe my eyes. The memory of everything I had done and how much my mother hated me for that left me a little sour and teary.I looked at the dark screen which lightened up in my face."Beta"My second in command was calling."Whatsapp?" I pressed the cell phone to my left ear while I used my right hand to continue wiping my eyes."What is going on?""The Luna is having a baby. You need to come as soon as possible" he said. He sounded like he was nearly out of breath by the way he was speaking."Calm down, what hospital is she in?" I asked again. He explained it and told me he would send it over text again. "Alright. I'll be there in a few minutes".I hung up and turned to look at the men who were already inside the room I was in."My mate and the daughter of the alpha of this pack is on her way to welcoming a child. I must go there." I stood up and dusted myself."I heard

  • The Alpha Who Betrayed Me   Chapter 71

Arabella's POV"Where am I?" I moaned, trying to stretch but it was like I was tied down to wherever I was. Using all my strength to push out the triplets only made it fucking worse."Anyone there?" I whimpered, like a pained little wolf but no one answered. Just the silence."Asher? Ava? Claire? Mary? Anyone?" I called over and over again. "Did I not make it?""You did my love," I heard a familiar voice behind me but I couldn't see him."Father?" I whispered into the air and I felt his scent envelope me. "Are you there, dad?""Yes, love. I'm always with you," he answered. "I've missed you." He said and one by one I felt the restraints being cut. "You can't succumb to death, my daughter," I heard his voice but when I turned around he wasn't there. "You have three children waiting to see their mother. It's not your time yet.""They're alive?" I sobbed, as I already thought I died in labor. "Yes, dear. And don't worry, I'll come visit you soon.""Visit me soon?" I mumbled then asked.

Arabella's POVAfter feeding and tending to the triplets, we carefully escorted them to a secure safehouse in the basement of the attic. Ava insisted on staying with them, her protective instincts kicking in as she cradled our precious babies in her arms. With tears in my eyes, I kissed each of their foreheads, silently promising to return to them unharmed. As we left the safety of our makeshift sanctuary, the weight of impending conflict hung heavy in the air. The moon cast an eerie glow upon the forest, illuminating our path as we marched toward our destiny. The night whispered with the rustle of leaves, a symphony of anticipation and fear. We moved with purpose, each step a silent vow to protect our loved ones and rid the world of the darkness that threatened to consume us.Arriving at the rendezvous point, our allies stood ready, their eyes ablaze with determination. He's in danger," I uttered, the gravity of the situation piercing through the newfound calmness.Without hesitation, my father led the way, his steps purposeful as we ventured back to the house but I stopped them. "I think he's in this direction," I shouted and they stopped."Noah, take them home. I'll go find my brother." My father suggested but I shook my head. Without me, they might never find him and I'll be restless. I had to go with them. We just had to be extra careful. The air seemed charged with an unspoken tension, and my instincts guided me toward Jeremy's location. As we moved deeper into the forest, a sense of foreboding enveloped us. Arabella's POVIn the quiet of the nursery, surrounded by the soft breaths of the sleeping triplets, I grappled with the enormity of the revelations.I traced the patterns on the floor, lost in thought when Mary and her sisters materialized in the room. “Asher called me," Mary said, her eyes locking onto mine. "Your father explained the situation between you and the other Jere brother. “Is there a way to unlink us from each other? I don't want to be linked to him. And my blood, isn't there a way to remove that too?” I asked with hopeful eyes.“They asked me this and I will tell you the same thing I told them. Breaking a bond like yours is no easy feat. Only the witch who binds can unbind but she doesn't seem to be alive and with the help of my sisters and the rest of the coven, we'd try our best. I believe we can find a way.”Relief washed over me at the prospect of a solution. "Please, Mary, find a way”One of the sisters nodded, her expression serious. "First, we need to delve int

There's something going on," I said, trying to convey the gravity of the situation.Asher nodded, immediately following me to my father's room. The atmosphere was tense as we entered, my father and Jeremy exchanging uneasy glances. My father gestured for us to sit, and as we did, he began to explain."As you already know, Jeremy and I are the Jere twins," he began, looking at his brother and then at me. "We've been around for more than three hundred years before I finally met your mom then had you. Before that time, the two of us used to rule, until there was a fight and he became a rogue. I couldn't bear to kill my own twin but I had to find a way and it came with its own consequences. With everyone's help, we were able to find the witch queen who explained that you were coming,

Arabella's POVAs I met Jeremy's gaze, a chill ran down my spine. The shared look of terror confirmed that what I had experienced wasn't merely a product of exhaustion. There was something more, something ominous lurking in the shadows."Jeremy," I whispered, my voice shaky. "What does it mean? Why would we both dream something so vivid and unsettling?"His eyes darted nervously, and for a moment, I wondered if he held a piece of the puzzle he wasn't ready to share. "Why did we have the same dream?" I asked and this time he opened his mouth to speak."We're connected. As for the dream, I don't know…"A surge of anxiety tightened my chest. "But what if it's a warning? What if something terrible is about to happen to Dad or you?"Jeremy hesitated, his jaw clenched. "We have to be careful. I think you should call your witch friend," he said, then turned around, an air of mystery following him as he left. "Don't bother him now, Ara," Asher sang in my ear as he saw that I was looking at t

Arabella's POVJeremiah's eyes held a mixture of sadness and regret as he regarded me. "Arabella, my dear, I've been trapped in this place for many years. Breaking the barrier at the door was only the first step. But now, we need the map that brought you here."I nodded, determined to free my father from this mysterious confinement. I retrieved the aged map from my Jeremy and handed it to him. As he studied it, a solemn expression crossed his face."This map is more than just a guide," he murmured. "It holds the key to the enchantment that keeps me here. We must decipher it together."I leaned closer, my eyes fixed on the intricate details of the map. "Tell me what to do, Father. I'll do whatever it takes to free you."He muttered a few incantations, his fingers tracing the lines on the map. Suddenly, the room seemed to shift, as if responding to whatever he was saying. A low hum filled the air, and the barrier that surrounded my father's room weakened."Arabella, my strength is fadin

Asher's POVJeremy led me to a secluded corner of the house, away from prying eyes and curious ears. The air was heavy with tension, and I fixed him with a glare that could pierce steel."Explain yourself," I demanded, my voice low and threatening. "What happened with Arabella? And why the hell is my sister claiming some... connection with you?"Jeremy ran a hand through his wet hair, raindrops falling onto the floor like a steady beat. "Look, Asher, I didn't plan for any of this. I found Arabella outside, unconscious. I have no idea why she was there or what caused her to faint. And as for your sister, Ava, I can't explain that either. It's not something I control."I scoffed, unconvinced. "You expect me to believe that? We've been through enough without adding mysterious mates and fainting episodes to the mix. I need answers."He sighed, a weariness in his eyes. "I know it's hard to believe, but I'm not your enemy here. As for Ava, the connection she feels is real, even if it defies

Asher's POVAll of a sudden it began to rain heavily and we decided to go back inside. As I approached the entrance to our home, I noticed the lights were turned on. Thinking it was Jeremy, I ran in.Entering the living room, my eyes widened in disbelief at the scene before me. Jeremy stood there, his soaked figure revealing that he was in the storm outside. Yet, it wasn't the rain that held my attention, it was the limp form of Arabella he cradled in his arms."What the hell happened?" My voice came out, filled with shock and anger. I glanced between Arabella's unconscious form and Jeremy's stoic expression."She fainted," Jeremy explained calmly, his eyes meeting mine. "I found her like this outside. I didn't see you, so I brought her in."I could feel the heat rising within me. "Fainted? Why was she outside in the first place?""I don't know. She was just standing there, and then she collapsed. "You stay here with the triplets. I'll gather some men, and we'll search the pack house and the surrounding area.
