The Revenge Maybe

I look at the land map of Blue Moon Pack as my beta, Dimitri, tells me his plan of attack.

"Woman and pups?" I ask, cocking an eyebrow at him.

"There's a meet at midnight for their fighters. If we take them out the rest should submit."

"Good. Where will Cobra be?"

"Heading the meet. He likes to show off his power." Dimitri chuckles.

Alpha Cobra controls the largest and strongest pack in the Northern hemisphere, Blood Moon Pack. Any pack would be crazy to attack them although I've spent thirty years building my pack to take his power from him. After all it's my birthright he stole when I was only a teenager.

"We attack at midnight. Send the omegas with our fighters to capture the woman and pups." I'm not cruel despite my reputation. I get what I want by any means necessary but I prefer not to harm woman or pups if it can be helped. Burning entire villages to the ground is more Cobra Moon's style.

Midnight approaches as I treek through the woods with my pack. Most of them are in wolf form, preparing for a fight. A few omegas, myself, and my beta stay human. "Keep the casualties to a minimum." I tell my pack through our mind link.

An hour is all it takes to take down the strongest pack. Their surviving fighters are lined up on their knees in front of me. Only fifty of the two hundred remain. Every one of them fought until their Alpha fell. Then they submitted to me easily, as is their nature.

"You all fought well. Our doctors will tend to your wounds if you allow, but you must first submit to Alpha Kosta." Dimitri's voice booms.

"Fuck you, rogue." A dark haired man spits at Dimitri.

Dimitri grabs the mans hair, pulling him to his feet. "Would you like to challenge our Alpha, young beta?" Dimitri chuckles.

I'm watching the beta when my shoulder explodes in pain. An omega screams, looking at me. I look down at the source of the pain. A silver arrow sticks out of my right shoulder. I look up, to find the source. A woman is being tackled by some of my fighters. At least they're trying to tackle her. Her bright red hair blows in the wind as she fights off a few of my men. One of the younger pups manages to grab her wrist seconds before she would have stabbed his chest. Her other hand comes up swinging into the boy's side, a silver arrow sticks out as she shoves him away. The arrow remaining in her hand flies toward another but he dodges it quickly.

She's putting up one hell of a fight. But my men can handle a she wolf. She smacks Odin, one of my best fighters, with her wooden bow, splintering it into pieces. I hear Odin hiss as the woman lunges at him and I smell fresh blood. Everyone freezes except the woman. No, she takes her opening, bolting into the nearest trees. No one, not even me, had gotten the upper hand on Odin since he came to our pack. "Go get her!" My voice booms as I snatch the arrow from my shoulder. "Who is she?" I growl at the man Dimitri still holds.

The man smiles, blood pooling from his mouth. "Our Alpha." He laughs.

A female can't be an alpha. No one would follow her. Except she's got her fighters going again. Everyone moves as the man laughs. Their fighters shift, attacking my fighters again.

Why would these men follow a she wolf?

I don't wait around for answers. Instead, I follow my men chasing the she wolf.
