We arrived at the castle after midnight, and the gatekeeper immediately opened the gates. As the car pulled in, several maids stepped out of the main entrance, forming a line as they waited for us to leave.

So much for secrecy when we wanted to meet Bishop discreetly. Why do all the maids know we’re coming? It seems ridiculous.

“My king, my queen,” the maids greeted us as Elijah and I walked past them.

The maids followed us from behind, heading for the left wing of the castle where Bishop quarters were located. That’s where Elena was. We made two turns, passed three small gardens, and finally arrived at the Bishop’s residence.

In front of us was a small gate guarded by two wolves. After the small gate, I saw three doors lined up on the left and right sides of the corridor.

The guards immediately opened the door on the left.

“Elder Bishop has been expecting you, my king and queen. Please come in,” the guard said in a polite tone.

The moment we stepped inside, I could smell the scent of

Our lengthy discussion finally ended, but the conclusion remained unclear. What had happened to me had to be investigated through the lineage of the previous pack, the Davenport Pack. I kept quiet, though, because I didn’t want Elijah and Bishop to know that I wasn’t Papa’s biological child. It wasn’t the right time yet, or maybe it was something I didn’t need to reveal.Since it was too late to return to the mansion, we decided to spend the night at the castle. Elijah and I slept in the right wing, which was eerily quiet. No one was around in this area, which is almost twice the size of the mansion.I could hardly sleep, thinking about the possibilities Bishop had laid out. Even though Elijah and Bishop tried to reassure me that I wasn’t necessarily a descendant of the Celestial Moon pack, I was still worried. Bishop had said that what had happened to me was a blessing. Since the Celestial Moon Pack had been cursed in the past and had become a forgotten myth, if I were their desc

“Let go of me!” I hissed angrily.I tried to pull away, but the damn guy twisted my arm behind my back. I let out a groan, but no one dared to help me.“Don’t make a scene. You’re just a lowly creature.” The guy sneered, laughing along with his friends.“Elijah...” I whimpered.“Who’s Elijah?” the guy chuckled quietly. “Your boyfriend?”“Her king.”The voice came from behind the guy, and suddenly, the grip on my arm loosened. I immediately pushed his hand away, and he and his friends groaned and bowed.I stepped back, relieved to see Elijah standing across from me. I was so grateful to see him there.“Lesser wolves,” Elijah growled. Those who had attacked me were now kneeling on the ground, their faces flushed as they clutched their throats in pain. The people around us stared, confused by what seemed to be a strange show.Elijah walked over and pulled me into his arms, his expression filled with concern. “What have they done to you?” he asked.I shook my head. “Let’s go home. I left my room and jogged lightly down the corridor, intending to go to Aunt Disa’s room. But I was stopped abruptly by Vincent, who suddenly appeared at the intersection.“Queen Delilah.” Vincent offered a thin smile. “Please, no running in the hallway. You’re about to be crowned.”I giggled, embarrassed. “I’m sorry, Vincent. I was in a hurry to see my aunt.”“Oh, could it wait a moment? King Elijah wishes to speak with you in his room.”I nodded quickly. “Yes, sure. I’ll go see King Elijah now.”Vincent walked beside me, and I couldn’t help but notice something different about him. He seemed slightly cheerful, though I couldn’t put my finger on why.The door to Elijah’s room was open, and I could hear voices inside. Vincent knocked on the door, and I stood in the doorway to greet Elijah.“Good afternoon, King Elijah,” I said.Inside, Elijah was with Eugenia. The king stood before a mirror while Eugenia stood behind him, helping him put on a fur coat.“What do you think, Delilah?” El

The McKinney Pack residence is well outside town, a quarter of a day's drive. I shared a car with Elijah and Vincent. Our car was part of a convoy with the other royal wolves leaving the castle.Bishop wasn't attending the event, but some of his sons represented his pack. One thing I noticed was that Elena wasn't coming to the hunt. When I arrived at the castle, she was nowhere to be seen."Why isn't Elena with us?" I asked, just to satisfy my curiosity."Elena doesn't have an Alpha, Delilah. She-wolves aren't allowed to join the hunt unless they're Lunas," Elijah explained."So this is like a competition for males to show off their strength and ego?" I teased.Elijah laughed heartily. "I'd rather not answer that. How about Vincent does instead?" he said between laughs."It's not about ego, my queen," Vincent smiled. It's more like a sporting event where the king can judge which pack can be a pillar of the kingdom's defense. That's why each pack competes to be the best, to earn the ki

I had no idea when Elijah came into the room, but by morning, he was beside me. My disappointment from yesterday still lingered because of what Blanche had said, but if I mentioned it to Elijah, it would ruin everything.I decided to shower quickly, get dressed, and lay Elijah’s clothes down before sneaking out of the room. The hallway was already crowded with Alpha wolves. They nodded respectfully as I passed.“Queen Delilah, you’re up early,” Orson, Blanche’s husband, greeted me.“I just wanted to see what the atmosphere was like here.”“How about Blanche joining you, my queen? She’ll be ready in a few minutes.”“Maybe later. I’d rather walk around alone right now.” I flashed a smile and quickly made my exit. “See you soon, Orson.”Half running, I went through the corridor until I reached the castle’s front yard. The maids were busy preparing breakfast for the royal wolves.“Good morning, Queen Delilah,” they greeted me in unison.“Good morning.” I cleared my throat quietly. “I want

I closed my eyes as I heard the Lunas gasp and the Alphas scream. When my eyes opened, Elijah still stood, but the apple had fallen from his head.I noticed Elijah was holding the arrow that had almost hit his eye, broken in two. Damn it! Why didn’t the arrow aim slightly higher and just hit the apple? I put Elijah in danger with my inaccurate shot. I felt the urge to run, but I was shaking so badly I could barely stand.“My king!” the royal alphas rushed over to Elijah.“Are you all right, my king?”Elijah threw the arrow to the ground, looking calm. I froze, once again guilty of a fatal mistake. Surely, Elijah would scold me.Elijah’s footsteps approached, and I panicked even more. Quickly, I bowed deeply to him.“Forgive me...” I choked out.“Good,” Elijah told me. He smiled. “I didn’t expect you to aim your arrow at such a vital spot.”I stood up again, confused. “But you told me to shoot the apple, my king.”“You don’t aim at the apple at a critical moment, Delilah.”The royal

“My queen,” Vincent called.I turned to face Vincent as I entered the great dining hall. I promise it won’t happen again.”I smiled. “It was my fault, Vincent. I’m sorry; I was careless and caused an unpleasant situation.”“It is a lesson for me and the entire McKinney pack to be more careful, my queen. Thank you for your understanding.”“I’m glad it’s no longer an issue between us, Vincent.”Elijah cleared his throat quietly and shot me a sharp look. I couldn’t help but feel puzzled—what did I do wrong now? I had already apologized to Vincent, as Elijah wanted.Vincent quickly stepped forward to lead us both to our seats. I watched him as he began to instruct the maids on serving the food. Suddenly, Elijah leaned in close, his lips almost brushing against my ear.“Don’t be too familiar with

I couldn’t even call for help. A bullet was lodged in my abdomen, and I pressed my hand against the wound, trying to stop the blood.“Elijah...” I whispered.A long howl echoed, followed by the sound of hurried footsteps approaching. I heard a growl from above the trap, and the great wolf began to transform into his human form.“Delilah?”Elijah’s voice made me burst into tears. “Help me!”Others appeared, looking panicked when they saw me trapped in the pit. I could feel the restlessness in his aura, the uncertainty as our eyes locked."Why, Delilah?" There was disappointment in Elijah's voice. "So it's true? The plan had been carefully laid out, and everyone was already marching to the palace to destroy Wanda. Alderwood was eerily quiet, with no one outside. Even the shops were closed. In the human world, they only knew it as a gang war. Yes, that was the rumor that had been spread. And the police could not do anything about it. They were only guarding the perimeter near the residential areas. "What's going on, my king?" I asked as we passed the closed shops. "I just want to end this war. And repay a debt to someone." My eyebrows almost furrowed. "A debt?" "Yes." Elijah nodded. "If it weren't for him, I might not be with you now." Who was Elijah talking about? One of the royal alphas approached Elijah, interrupting our conversation. "At the last crossroads, we will all regroup and go to the palace together, my king," the Alpha said. "We'll wait for the others if they haven't arriv

"I'm glad to see you too, Deli. I was so afraid something had happened to you.""I'm the one who was worried about you. Especially after you were taken. What happened after that?"Before Eugenia could answer, Elijah approached us and said a quick goodbye."I need to meet with the other alphas. There's something we need to discuss," Elijah said.I nodded. "Okay, my king.""See you at dinner." Elijah gave a small smile. After he left, Eugenia and Michael entered my room, and the three of us sat down to talk.Eugenia told me what had happened to her after she had been taken.

The news that Orson, Fergus, and Arlington had been taken down brought euphoria to the Davenport pack. I was grateful that there were no casualties, and most of the pack members from the three alphas decided to surrender. They had sworn allegiance to Elijah. I felt a tremendous sense of relief."We have already made plans to attack the palace in a few days. The rogue wolves have attempted small attacks several times, but we've been able to handle them," Jeremy reported over the phone."That's great. Thanks for the update, Jeremy.""Hold on, Deli. Elijah wants to talk to you."My excitement grew. Then I heard Elijah's deep, sexy throat clearing."Delilah?" he called.

The Arlington estate lay ahead—not too far, but I could see it was heavily guarded. The moment I saw the birthmark on my twins' shoulders, my head felt like it was going to explode. I had studied the kingdom's history from the beginning, and I knew that the Celestial Moon was cursed until their empire collapsed. And it was true—that was the symbol of the Celestial Moon Kingdom! Is this a joke? I denied it, thinking it must be a coincidence. So, in addition to Crescent Moon blood, do I also have Celestial Moon blood flowing through my veins? Why would this happen to my twins?"Deli, the she-wolves won't say a word! There's nothing to worry about. Besides, it's just a birthmark—it doesn't mean anything," Aunt Disa said."Do you really think so, Aunty? Even you can't lie to me. Upon returning to the Davenport Pack, Elijah immediately joined the other alphas in the back terrace area. A tent and chairs had already been set up for the royal alphas to sleep and have meetings with Jeremy.I was about to head back to my room to check on the twins when Jeremy approached me and stopped me for a moment."Deli, I need to talk to you about Elijah," Jeremy said bluntly.I didn't bring up his earlier statement about being willing to accept me anytime, as if it was a subtle threat to Elijah. Instead, I just nodded and sat down on the edge of the bed while Jeremy sat down on the sofa."What do you say about King Elijah? What about him?" I asked."We still haven't decided whether to tell him about you—about who you really are, Deli. We're afraid the royal wolves might turn on you... or worse, try to eliminate you.""We both know they are not as savage as the rogue wolves. They have honor and keep their promises, Jeremy."
