42. A Day at the Carnival

Our lengthy discussion finally ended, but the conclusion remained unclear.

What had happened to me had to be investigated through the lineage of the previous pack, the Davenport Pack.

I kept quiet, though, because I didn’t want Elijah and Bishop to know that I wasn’t Papa’s biological child. It wasn’t the right time yet, or maybe it was something I didn’t need to reveal.

Since it was too late to return to the mansion, we decided to spend the night at the castle. Elijah and I slept in the right wing, which was eerily quiet. No one was around in this area, which is almost twice the size of the mansion.

I could hardly sleep, thinking about the possibilities Bishop had laid out. Even though Elijah and Bishop tried to reassure me that I wasn’t necessarily a descendant of the Celestial Moon pack, I was still worried.
