"Good Morning, Mr. Daniel," his secretary greeted him as he walked past by her desk. He was fixing his tie while walking in urgency because he's half an hour late for the meeting he scheduled, for he forgot to set an alarm the night before he dozed off to sleep.
"Is everyone in the meeting room now?" he asked as he finished fixing his tie.
His secretary nodded. "Yes, Sir. They're just waiting for you."
He was about to walk towards the meeting room when his phone suddenly rang. He reached for his phone in the pocket of his coat to end the call when he saw that the call is coming from an unknown number.
"Veronica," he called his secretary while he's busy looking at his phone that until now was still ringing.
"Yes, Sir?" she immediately asked before walking towards Vladimir. She stood up straight as she stopped walking to his side and wait for him to give her orders.
"Go to the meeting room first and tell them that I'll be there in a few more m
"Fuck it," Vincent murmured. When Celestine left, he did nothing but curse himself. It was his plan, to hurt her yet now that he has already done it, guilt is eating him up.Celestine and he aren't supposed to be together. They shouldn't cross the boundary that fate has built for them because Celestine was the forbidden apple that he shouldn't taste, yet he did. It was a sin for Celestine and him to be happy in each other's arms. It was a sin for them to be together. He had sin once and even though he's evil, he couldn't afford to be a sinner again for an angel like her. However, something feels heavy in his chest. It was suffocating him, he was lost for words to explain what he's feeling but when the corner of his eyes started to get warm, he had only one word to describe what he felt and its; pain.It was not Celestine's slap that hurt him but her teary eyes that were directly looking to his eyes when she uttered the words, 'I hate you.' with certainty
It would much bravery to fight back his father which he didn't do. Cowardice engulfed him that for a couple of minutes since his father left, he got stuck to where Venedict left him. He did not move nor switch places, he just stood there, against the same wall where his father pushed him, while he's still processing everything that his father said to his mind.As he was slowly absorbing things, he start to regret taking Celestine and involving her in the cruelty of the mafia. If he could just turn back the time, he wouldn't have taken her. If he only do that, Celestine's life wouldn't be in danger and the things in the past wouldn't unfold like what Vladimir wanted. But even though he regrets things and blames himself for everything it'll be impossible to change what already happened in the past and the only thing he can do was to make a decision now to keep Celestine safe, even though it means she has to hate him.Preoccupied with his thoughts, Vincent did not
"Did you already eat breakfast?" Lander asked as his eyes were busy on the road. Since they got inside the car, none of them speak. Lander remained silent because he's trying his best not to ask personal questions to Celestine that she most probably would be uncomfortable answering. He lied. He's not on his way to his favorite pancake house nearby, he drove all the way here with the hopes of seeing Celestine. Last night, Vincent sent a text message to him saying that Celestine is already with him and he wouldn't have to worry anymore. Vincent not only texted an update but he also texted the hotel's name that they're in which give him the freedom to see Celestine in the morning.Everything that he said to Celestine a while ago wasn't true except for the fact that he gave the little girl chocolate in exchange for calling Celestine. It's not true that he was driving when he saw Celestine in the playground because the truth was he had been following Celestine since he saw
"Here's your coffee," the waitress said as she carefully put the coffee on the table before she sat on the chair in front of Kingston. "Where is Sophia?" Kingston asked as he slide the coffee closer to him. He received a text from the waitress saying that Sophia is in the coffee shop and even though he had an empty stomach and haven't brushed his teeth yet, he hastily go straight to the coffee shop. While waiting for his coffee earlier, he roamed his eyes to the whole place, checking all of the customer's faces but none of them looked like Sophia. "She went to the comfort room a while ago. Just wait for her to come out. I told you, we have two regular customers that is named Sophia so if you see her and she's not what you're looking for, then let's wait for the other Sophia to show herself here," the waitress said as she put the tray she's holding to Kingston's table, temporarily. Kingston sipped on his coffee. "She better be who I'm looking f
Celestine struggled to get her hair out from Alice's hand but it seems impossible for her to remove her hair from Alice because of the tightness and pressure she's putting into holding her hair firmly. Alice hated her for being too close to Vincent even though she's not in the right position to be possessive over him because first of all, she doesn't stand anything in Vincent's life more than just being the only woman who works for him. And yet, she's acting like a jealous wife. Celestine gather all of her strength and put them in her right leg in an attempt to kick Alice. "I said let me go!" she shouted as she kicked Alice's legs that causing her to lose balance and fall to the sand. Celestine put her hands on her hair and silently sob as she was looking at Alice that is holding her right leg. She hit Alice's shin purposely to get back to her for gripping her hair tight. "I don't want to fight you, to be honest, but you're forcing me every da
"I don't want here anymore. Just let me go home. I want to go home already. I have a dog. She's just eight months old and she's alone. I don't know if someone has already fed her, but I'm sure no one will. So please, let me go home. I want to see my dog. She must've been crying now." "I'm sorry, Ma'am Sophia. About your discharge, it's in the doctor's decision. As of now, we still need to run some tests to make sure that everything will be fine once you get discharged," the nurse in her uniform politely explained as she was busy finding checking everything that the other nurses injected into her veins. She knows nothing of anything these people in a white uniform were doing and had done to her arm and wrist. All she wanted was for them to finally let her go home, not to see her dog like what she excused because she doesn't even have one. As much as she wanted to, she can't, for she's allergic to their fur. Having a dog that she left home with no food and water is the
"It's your fault, Celestine. You killed her. It's your fault." "No, I didn't. I just protected myself. It's not my fault. She's trying to k-kill me first," Celestine murmured as her eyes started to become blurry again because of the tears that attempting to fall from her eyes. She's sitting on the cold tile floor of the hospital and hiding on the side of the bed. Her hands were covering her ears, trying to shut down the little voices in her head. "It's your fault, Celestine. You killed her. It's your fault." Her shaky hands run to her hair and frustratedly pulled it. She shouted and hit herself a couple of times. Her body is betraying her, as well as her mind. They're forcing her to believe that it was her fault. And no matter how much she tries to shut them up, they wouldn't budge. They're whispering, endlessly, trying to push her to her limits. The voices at the back of her head are slowly trying to get ahold of her sanity. It was
"No," Vincent firmly said before he got up from his seat and walked towards the bedside table to get the brown paper bag that he put there when he entered Celestine's hospital room. Inside the paper bag is a wooden lunch box that contains slices of fruits with vegetable fried rice, sliced boiled eggs, and sausages. It took him a couple of minutes before answering Celestine. He's undecided. That was his plan; to get rid of Celestine as his way of protecting her against his father and to his enemies but now that it comes from her mouth, everything that he planned vanished to his mind and the only word he can utter is: no. He doesn't have enough time to prepare everything that's why he did the easiest food to cook. Nicholas and he stopped by a restaurant owned by his friend when while on the road, he decided to make something for Celestine. He used the restaurant kitchen with permission from his friend. "P-Please, let me go now..." Celestine said that Vincent do
"V-Vincent..." All she remembered was throwing the gun somewhere and she ran towards Vincent. His eyes are wide open as well as his mouth. He's not moving. She tried to wake him by touching his chest yet after minutes of sobbing and trying to save him, nothing happened. His chest is not moving, it was as if he is asleep but his eyes is open. He's not breathing anymore. "N-No, Vincent. Wake up, c-cmon... Wake up p-please," she whispered to his ear even though she knew to herself that no matter what she do, it's already too late. She hugged his body and she sobbed in his chest, hoping that it was just a bad dream even though she still can feel the intensityof the gun when she fired it. "Celestine, let's go. C'mon, you need to leave now. Any minute from now Vincent's men will come to check on what was happening here. We need to go now." Celestine looked at the woman who suddenly speak. It was Sophia. "S-Sophia..." Sophia's eyes is roaming around the mansion checking if Vincent
"Clean the cell, leave no trace of his blood there, burn the gun, his clothes, and his apartment," Vincent authoritively said as he was washing his hands on the sink. His men immediately nodded his head after hearing what his boss had said. They were having a good time talking while eating until they heard a gunshot coming inside of the cell. Everything happened so fast that the the only thing they know was thinking that their boss had planted a bullet in Kingston's head but it wasn't what they are expecting because when they go to see the cell, it was Kingston who is holding their boss' gun. "What the fuck are you still doing here? Didn't you hear what I asked you to do?!" Vincent shouted when he noticed that the associate is still standing next to him like an idiot. Vincent's shout was enough for the associate to get back to his senses and get out of the bathroom and do what his boss asked him to do. Vincent closed his eyes firmly and threw his head back while he is clenching
"Let me go!" She had been screaming yet no one seem to hear her, they are ignoring her. She is inside of a van with five men inside, all of them are wearing masks and they are all silent. There is nothing that could be hear inside except for her screams that don't seem to bother the five men. She closed her eyes firmly and stopped trying to untie her wrists on her back for a moment. She has to remind herself that she had been in this position before, her getting kidnapped by the enemies is something that is not new for her and instead of feeling scared she should think of a way to escape from them, though it might be impossible to do that because what is the strength of a woman compared to five strong men surrounded her. "Good thing you finally get tired of screaming," the man driving the car said while he is chewing a gum. She opened her eyes. "If you think that Vincent will come to save me, you better think again. You got the wrong person. I am not Sophia, you should've taken h
"Fuck," Kingston murmured when he tried to make a movement. His body is sore from all the punches that he had received. He doesn't know how long Vincent had been keeping him inside of the cell because he couldn't see any light from the outside. All he wanted was Vincent's men discovered a new hobby and it is to beat him up every fucking minute. He spit blood on the cold tile floor then he tried his best to move his body for him to comfortably lie on the floor. As he was trying his best to move, he is holding his breath firmly. He can endure the pain but his body needs a rest. He never felt so restless his entire life until Vincent kept him inside of the cell that makes him feel like he is visually impaired. "Fuck this," he continued cursing as he was trying his best to quicken his movement so the pain he might going to feel will be all at once yet his body is not cooperating. He can feel the tiredness of his body. Every inch of his being wants to rest yet in his mind, he keep tel
Celestine stopped walking as soon as she figured out that Saoirse is no longer following her. She turned around to see what her manager was doing and she found her a bit far from where she is with a devilish smile. At first, she is hesitant to call her attention but then she remembered why somehow she wanted to have this conversation with her manager. "Hey! Everything's fine?" she asked loudly, making sure that despite the distance between them she will still be able to hear her. Saoirse who was startled by her voice immediately composed herself, remove the devilish smile on her face, and act as if she had done nothing wrong then she jogged towards Celestine's direction. "Sorry, I just had to reply to that important text message," she explained as soon as she reached Celestine's side. "Anyways, I know a place here where we can talk privately." What Saoirse just said made Celestine's eyebrow raise. She's not in her manager's side for months now unlike before that they are usually t
"Good morning, Miss," the maid greeted as soon as she opened her eyes. Last night, she wasn't able to sleep. She doesn't know if it is about the temperature or is it about the idea that Vincent and her isn't fine. But between the two, she choose to believe that it is because of the room temperature. "W-What time is it already?" she asked as she was helping herself to sit on the bed. The windows in her room is open yet the sunlight is not hurting her skin, giving her an idea that she woke up early today. She looked at the maid confusedly. Maids are not allowed to enter the room, not just her room but in any room without asking for permission that she is confused for why the maid is inside of her room the moment she open her eyes. Even though she wants to point out about the maid tresspassing inside of her room she just decided to shrug the idea off. She wanted to start her morning in a good mood since she slept with a heavy heart last night so instead of scolding the maid she just p
"H-Here's your coffee." She slightly tilted the tray that she was holding. Vincent lick his lower lip and run his fingertips to his scalp. He doesn't have an idea of how he supposed to deal with her after knowing almost everything that she had done. He couldn't believe everything that is on the papers. He couldn't believe everything that Kingston said. Everything is an act of betrayal. Everything isn't true. Celestine planned it, she tried to be in control of his life and he never did question her, it also somehow his fault yet it wouldn't justify the fact that she is the mastermind. She did what she did and he wouldn't let her fall for her stupid game anymore. She might had already plan how everything is going to end for him but he will change it. He will change the ending and it is him who will have the loudest laugh in the finish line that she had prepared for him. "I didn't ask you to bring that to me." He turned his back on her then he pulled his sleeves up. She, on the othe
Celestine hit her shoulder when she felt a mosquito pinching bite. Its blood was on her palm. It's dead. She grimaced, disgusted by the blood that is on her palm. She looked away from her it and wipe it on the hem of her t-shirt. The blood in her palm is something that doesn't freak her out anymore like she used to. Seeing blood anywhere becomes a normal scenario for her ever since she met Vincent. She glance in her palm and even though the blood wasn't there anymore, she can still see it; her hands that is covered by blood. She closed her eyes firmly to keep herself calm but instead of avoiding the idea that her mind had made up for her, she smell the blood. She can smell it. Blood that almost smells like hers, the scent that she's been trying to get out of her system. That smell, it was so familiar. A shovel suddenly entered her mind. The dried red stain in the shovel is what brings her back to the past that she's been trying to get off of her mind but couldn't. "Miss, are
"Did you already sent the letter?" The man slightly nodded his head. "Yes, Sir." "Are you sure that she will receive the letter?" "Certainly, Sir," he answered with great confidence. "Good. Go back to your work now." He rest his back on the backrest of his couch. The letter successfully sent to Celestine, he just hope that the letter reach her before Vincent get to read them. Just when he thought he can finally have his fifteen minutes break, his phone suddenly rang. He pushed himself to reach for the phone on the other side of his table. He picked it up and put the phone against his ear. "Who is this?" he asked. "How are you, Bonifacio?" said the man on the other line with a devilish smirk lingered on his lips. That voice, he knows that voice very well, he know it so well that he immediately recognized the person calling. "Venedict," he said. Venedict chuckled. "Guess you still remember me." He clenched his jaw tightly. They haven't heard anything from Venedict sinc
