The day my mother was buried, I slept with a strange man. I'm not proud of it but it's something I had go to do. It's called “paying for his kind gesture towards me” I had no money or means to pay him back, so I decided giving him my body was the best thing to do. Seven years later, I don't think it was the best decision I had made but seeing my sextuplets killed every thought of regrets I had.

******

“ Push, push harder Miss Madelyn. ” the doctors in the room kept urging me to keep my eyes open and push even more harder. Doesn't it end? Two babies out already and I'm still pushing. How many little humans are in there?

“ Miss Madelyn, congrats you have given birth to triplets. Two boys and a girl.” the nurse announced and I heaved a sigh of relief.

“ Wait a minute, there's one more. Push Ms.” one of the doctors interrupted and I fell back to the pillow as a tear escaped my eyes. Just how many babies were in this womb of mine? Three babies already and there's one more? How am I ever going to care for them?

“ Push, Madelyn. Push!!” one more baby added.

Flashback, nine months ago.

***

I stood at her grave after dropping a bunch of hibiscus on her tombstone. They had just buried my mom after her tragic death. As I stood and read the words inscribed on her tombstone again and again, I realized she would finally be free and happy.

She was married to my dad at a young age, more like sold to my dad to pay off the debts her parents owed him. But mom never finished paying for those debts, twenty four years later and she was still working hard for my vile father.

“ Evelyn Adrian. Aged 44”

Her name and age was boldly written on her stone. She was so young but was physically aged. She aged more quickly because of the tremendous work she had to do for her husband over the twenty four years of being married. My father drove my mother to her early grave, and I still find it hard to forgive him.

A woman who was legally married, a decent woman who was sold off by her parents to a monster at the age of twenty was made to work for my father, day after day and night after night. Mr. Adrian is a brutal beast who deserved nothing but death for the pains he inflicted on my mother and I.

He was filthy rich but made us suffer even for the smallest bit of remnant that fell off his table. He owned A& D Company and a huge list of many other enterprises.

Adrian would send my mother off to rich clients who refused to bulge and accept the proposals he made. My mother's body would be desecrated by those filthy, potbellied men who couldn't look past a beautiful woman without lusting after her.

She carried out every task as asked by my father, for twenty four years and without a complaint. I knew how hurt and dirty she felt, having all the men in the city warm her bed in return for a favour for her husband's company.

I wouldn't say my mom was stubborn or was weak. She was doing everything she could to protect her kids and save me from the wrath of my father. She kept hoping when she gave birth to kids, her husband would change for the better. But did he? He only got worse daily. Even after birthing three children, he never changed his ways.

My younger siblings, Cara and Craig took after our father. I was the only one my poor mom could confide in, the only one who she could cry to. Apart from being a devil who asks his wife to pleasure different men for his own selfish advantage, my dad was an alcoholic. Several times he would come home and derive pleasure in beating mom. I confronted him a few times and got the belt turned on me instead.

On the morning that mom died, she was on her way to see Mr. Nathalie. Mr. Nathalie was the CEO of Walmart Int'l and as usual, dad resorted to using his wife's body to buy the pervert over. The cab she was in had an head-on head collision with a truck and she gave up the ghost few hours later.

My vicious father took no pity on the dead woman. All he could do was stand there and ask why she didn't die after completing the task he had given her. I concluded it's either he sold his heart to the devil or her had no heart at all.

Without my mom, I won't be able to survive. Realizing just how much of a cold blow death had given me, I fell to my knees and wept. I was weeping more for myself than her death, I knew my father would come for me next. He cherished my other siblings because they did his bidding. I was the only one who could defy him. Though he tried so much to hide it, he was scared of me.

“ I'm glad you are finally free off the shackles of slavery, mom. But still I wish you were here. As much as I want you to rest peacefully, I want you back.”

Before I could mutter a few more words, someone grabbed me by the hair and drew me up. Just as I had guessed, it was no other person than Lucifer himself.

“ What are you still doing here, Madelyn? Do you wished to buried alongside her? You lay here and waste those tears of yours, who would fetch me more money and business deals now that your stupid mother is no more?”

Money and business deals? Was it the only thing this man cared for? He wasn't even at the slightest, remorseful a human had died because of his greed?

Yes, I was weak without my mom but it's time I put him in his place.

“ Fetch you money? As what? Your money making machine, huh?” I yelled at him and it shook him for a few seconds. My sister Cara was not in the least surprised. She held out an umbrella for dad as it was beginning to rain lightly.

“ Shut your mouth, Madelyn. You and your dead mother are nothing without me. You will never be anyone useful without my help. Why do you think people hold you in high esteem? It's because you bear my name, Madelyn. A name I gave you for free, so get your ass to work.”

The rain came down in tiny droplets but got a little heavy with each passing second. In a few minutes it was raining heavily and my black dress clung to my skin as the rain poured down nonstop.

“ CEO Nicholas of the Nick costumes has eyes for you. One night with him and a whooping sum of twenty billionaire dollars would be mine.”

I was cold now. My hair and dress was wet and my legs ached from standing too long while on heels. I was so much disgusted by the attitude of someone who's supposed to be my father.

“ I'm sorry to disappoint you but I'm not your puppy. I'm not someone you can toss around just like you did mom. Ask your loyal puppet, Cara to do that for you.”

Where I had the courage to stand up for myself was still a mystery to me. He wasn't surprised by my response, he had infact expected me to reply in the negative.

“ You will do as I say, Madelyn. You answer to me now.” he stomped his feet in rage.

I chuckled dramatically and shook my head. “ No, I only answer to whoever I choose to. Excuse me.”

I walked past him hurriedly but slowed my pace. My legs were aching and I was feeling dizzy.

“ Madelyn, get back here. Cara, quickly go after her. She must be stopped.”

I hadn't gone far and I could be caught if they had insisted to come after me. I heard my sister laugh wryly and said;

“ Don't worry about her, she can't go too far. Her drink had been laced earlier, I'm sure she would be lightheaded by now.”

The drugged my drink? Their laughter became louder and my head was spinning. I could barely keep my eyes open and my legs seemed too weak to move any further.

I heard the loud screeching of tyres and I figured out I was standing at the highway meant for cars. The man in the black SUV had alighted and made his way for me as I waved frantically with the last strength in me. I was lucky he stopped just in time, I would have been hit.

I fell and he was quick to catch me. He had come out with an umbrella but he ended up wet cause he had to carry me back to his car in a bridal way.

“ H.. Help ...me” and I blacked out in his arms.

If this man was willing to help me and take me far away from here, I would give him my body in return.

... And he did help me and I fulfilled the promise I had made. I gave my virginity to a total stranger.

End of flashback*****

“ Keep pushing, he's almost out. Keep pushing Madelyn. Hey, hey keep your eyes open. Madelyn push!!”

The tiny voice of my baby was heard. I closed my eyes almost immediately. I had birthed six babies. And they would grow up without a father.

Their father is the strange man I had slept with on the day Mother was buried..

Lights out..

It's so early in the morning, don't you think the company could use a bit of tranquility? Keep it down, you are being too loud.” “ I apologize sir. I just wanted to inform you that there's a package waiting for you in your office. I gazed at my wristwatch briefly to confirm the time. As we stood in the elevator, my mind wandered freely. What's the package about? I have no idea who's bringing a present as early as it was. Grandma would send a text few minutes to the delivery guy arriving and we were not expecting any wrapped box from a business partner, at least not for this week. Madelyn's POV I shoved Liam behind me and stared directly at the father of my children. I had no idea he was this rich, and until today I had no idea he was the CEO of this company and also the man I had slept with years ago. I had always delivered packages to other departments in the company but none of us knew the other. I was panting for air. It wasn't until then that I realized I had been holding my breath. I was more than petrified. Liam had already risked being know by his father, if Black found about the other children, he would surely take them away from me. If it was taken to court, I'm sure he would win. I had no money, and money was the grease for us to win against CEO Black. “ I'm not hiding anything else. It's just Liam, he's your child and that's all the information you need to know about me.” “ What I need to know or not are not decided by you. I make the decisions here, lady.” Arrogant asshole! • That One Night, Mr. CEO; A Lifetime Game    A Truckload Of Babies

Jason's POV The car sped along the express way on the tracks leading to the hospital. City hospital. I haven't been there in such a long time. The family doctor who works at City hospital visited frequently, to check on Grandma and run a few tests at home. We only go there when she insists she doesn't want to be attended to at her house. Weird how she loves the hospital environs. Madelyn had left in a haste. I wonder what's wrong with her. Not like I care but, I have to show a bit of concern towards her now that I know she has a son for me. Liam has a striking resemblance of me when I was little. Staring at the paper between my cold fingers, I read every single thing written down. How was a paternity test done? Did she take my blood or a strand of my hair? “ We are here, Master.” the driver's voice interrupted my line of thoughts and I shoved the piece of paper into my pocket. Throwing my long legs out of the car, I dashed into the hospital and so

Madelyn's POV “ Oh hello Madelyn. Mind telling me whose kids these are? Cause they fucking look like me!” CEO Black was more than furious. What exactly have I gotten myself into? I already had one taken from me, and now Valerie and Daniel. If he knows this two are his kids, he would definitely find about the other three. I didn't think it would be so hard trying to conceal them from him. If only Liam hadn't gone to him in the first place. How the hell did he even get a paternity test done? How did he find his father when even I was in the dark about who he was? So many questions. But now isn't the time to scold my kids and have them spill what they have been hiding. I needed to just come up with another lie. Something he would definitely buy. I looked over the huge raging figure and my eyes collided with a pretty advanced woman. She should definitely be in her eighties but she looked pretty and healthy regardless. Seems she always go about with warm sm

“Look, it's daddy! Daddy, mummy is taking us home. She's mad at us, can you please talk to her?” The whole world stood still. All heads turned, eyes blinked rapidly and hearts stopped beating literally. A lot of whispers, a lot of muffled surprised sounds. The tiny cute creature ran to me and kept tugging at my suit. Under the numerous stares from all, I stooped to her level and patted her hair. She had brown beautiful hair, a charming set of dimples and the sweetest smile that could break ice. “ Mummy is mad? Did you do something wrong?” I looked past Valerie and found her, she was a bit impatient and probably anxious about something. “ Yes, she's annoyed with my brothers and I, daddy..” “ Valerie, we should get going. Your tutor would be home anytime soon. Let's go, young lady.” Madelyn's high pitched voice resonated through the hospital and everyone went about with their normal activities when I cast a few stares. They got the hint and all

Madelyn's POV Xavier had texted earlier that he was on his way after I told him my kids had been involved in an accident. Just a minute after we stepped out of the hospital, his car stopped. My babies were familiar with him already, they knew him as uncle Xavier but chose to refer to him as daddy. And he had never been uncomfortable with it. I met Xavier after I gave birth to my babies. We met at a certain company I had gone to deliver items. My father had cut me off the moment I refused to do his bidding and I was stripped off everything I had and was left with nothing, except a truckload of diamonds which were my children. I still ride pass our house every morning on my way to deliver items, and most times I bump into Mr. Adrian, my father. But he would sneer and look away, while making sure to tell everyone who were around that I used to be his daughter. In no short time, I had become the laughing stock of the city. Xavier's POV. With my attention divided between Madelyn and the road, it was hard to focus on driving. I wanted to know who her kid referred to as daddy. I wanted to know if the man I thought was behind this was actually the one. “ You know it's been approximately two minutes since I asked you a very crucial and important question, Madelyn. Are you going to answer the goddamn question or do I force it out of you?” Hands visibly shaking, face pale in less than a minute, lines of worry scribbled on her once beautiful face and a heart that beats faster. I have never seen her this scared or worried about nothing in the six years I have been with her. “ Madelyn..” I had stopped over. Couldn't risk us having an accident because I was trying to keep my eyes on the road and at the same time, trying to keep them on the young lady who had gone mute the moment Valerie said what she said. “ They.. my kids..” and she went blank

Grandma's POV It was yesterday I found I had a grandson. In fact, I was sure I had grandchildren cause the other two were just like my Jason. I was the mastermind behind the paternity test result. How on earth could a little boy would have had it done without the help of an adult? A week ago, I had just stepped into the elevator when a delivery lady and her son made for the elevator. It was already closing up and she pleaded that I held the elevator for them. “ Damnit! We have to take the stairs Liam, I really need to get this delivered as quickly as possible so I can get y'all to school.” she aired her frustration and ran her hand through her hair, pacing from left to right. The elevator chimed and reopened, and I saw a smile of relief light up her pretty face. For a moment, she had thought she missed it. She smiled at me and expressed gratitude while she and her son hurriedly got in. Fortunately, we were headed to the same floor. The littl

Madelyn Cara had called me on her way to Nicholas's house. After what Jason had said yesterday, I came to the conclusion that something was wrong. Maybe he had found out who it was that Cara always met with, or perhaps he was going to change the plan. “ I'm sorry. Jason found out on his own, I never told him. He's right beside me, you can ask him yourself.” Cara bellowed, “ I believe you. I and Jason are not best of friends yet, I don't want to to talk to him. Anyways, I will keep you updated on whatever happens at Nicholas's house.” I had a bad feeling, but I couldn't just say it out. I wanted to ask her to come right to us. Why not end this game and seek protection from Jason? I'm sure my husband would do anything I ask of him, even if it included taking my sister in. “ Be safe, Cara. I don't feel good about this.” She tried to lighten my mood. “ Have you eaten? You will feel much better when you eat, Madelyn.” “ You will be pregnant someda

It was either I get whipped during sex or after it. Slipping the vibrating phone into his pocket, he picked me up. My sister called a thousand times before she gave up. NICHOLAS It's the D-Day. That was all that ran through my head as I took a cold shower. I was more happier for the birth of Madelyn than she was for herself. My outfits were laid out on the bed and though, it was still too early to set out, I went through the list of things we needed, to make sure that we didn't skip a thing. The main reason I was up early was to think about my next move. I knew something was off with Cara, but since I haven't caught her yet, I couldn't accuse her of snitching on me. I knew she was seeing someone yesterday, my men had said they saw her with a strange lady whose face they weren't able to make out. I decided to come see what she was up to, but I was late and those dumb fools said they didn't know when the strange lady left. They saw her make her way for the bathroom, but that was it. She never returned to her seat. She made use of the backdoor. How smart of her. I bumped into Cara on her way out. She wasn't surprised to see m

Madelyn It's my birthday, today. What is it people usually say? Something like the day God brought me into the world for y'all. My husband was up early. When I woke up, he wasn't beside me. Where could he have gone to this early in the morning? Jason was one patient lover. He took his time to explain everything to me yesterday. I can now agree that I'm naive. How come I never thought that plans could be changed? “ Who is it?” someone knocked on the door. I was still in my nighties and I still haven't left my bed. “ Grandma Lorelei asked that you come with me, ma'am Madelyn.” I quickly checked the mirror to see if I had drooled in my sleep. I straightened my hair and strolled out. “ Good morning, Laura.” The maid greeted me with a warm hug. Yes, I hug my maids. At first, they were uncomfortable with it. I knew just what my husband was capable of doing if he found out I was hugging our maids. But, they are humans too. They deserved to be loved and respe

JASON I hurried home and waited for Madelyn. I noticed she had been going out more and her movements were usually discreet. Whenever I asked where she was off to, she would smile and say she only needed to check out some restaurant in town. At first, it was understandable since she was always craving food. But today, I noticed how weirdly she dressed. It's like she was trying to disguise. Over the week she became a very huge fan of scarfs and sunshades and over sized clothing. I knew something wasn't right, so I decided to follow her today and find out where it was she always went, or who she always visited. I have never thought my wife would ever cheat on me, but that was the first thought that came to mind. She didn't have any friends in the city, so who was it that she always visited? I followed the cab she was in. She would never know it was me cause I went on bike, and I had my helmet on. Madelyn stopped at a restaurant just as she had told me,

CARA A day to the big Day. I was running around making last minute preparations. I have to meet with Madelyn today to inform her of all our plans. Or better still, I could call her. Nicholas asked that we all meet at our usual spot. Natasha called to let us know she would be late, her mom had fallen ill. All Nicholas could ever think of was how we should make this work and not about some sick person. “ Listen to me, I don't care if your mom is dying. I want you here on time, we can't have you mess up our big Day. Is this what would happen tomorrow? What? You call and inform us that your mom had a heart attack? See you by 12pm, Natasha.” That was harsh but it would be better to see this two turn against each other. They were the ones calling the shots in this game, and I needed a sort of division between them. “ Do you think she's trying to bail at the last minute? It might be that she doesn't want to go ahead with this, that's why she keeps bringing

I'm glad we came this far.” “ Do you want a massage? Are you having any of those weird cravings of yours?” I didn't know being pregnant came with a lot of responsibilities. We were just three weeks gone, and I have never been more at loss for the perfect words to describe this whole new feeling. Was this what men went through at the hands of their pregnant wives? Wasn't it a bit too early for her to start having weird cravings? Madelyn never spared me at all. She would wake me up at past 2am and ask me to go get her some sea food.
