A few days later….
"Sir, we have a problem," Wes said as he rushed into Raymond's office
"Why are you yelling?" Raymond asked as he glared at Wes
"I apologize, sir, but we have a big problem."
"What is it?" Raymond asked in an uninterested tone
"I think it's better you watch it," Wes said as he opened his table and showed Raymond a video of him confronting Sharon at her farm a few days ago.
It already had a million views, and there were a lot of nasty comments against him, calling him an asshole and other unspeakable names
"How did this get out?" Raymond asked, his anger evident in his tone
"I don't know, we're still trying to find the person. By tomorrow, we will be able to find who posted the video," Wes explained, and Raymond's fist clenched by his side
Raymond paced the room, his mind racing with frustration and worry. "This is disastrous," he muttered under his breath. "We need to contain this before it spirals out of control."
Wes nodded, sharing Raymond's concern. "I'll coordinate with our IT team to track down the source and reduce the damage."
Raymond took a deep breath, trying to compose himself. "We can't let this tarnish our reputation. Get on it immediately."
As Wes delved deeper into the investigation, he discovered that the source of the video was indeed someone from Sharon's farm. With this revelation, Raymond wasted no time. He marched straight to Sharon's farm, to confront her and get to the bottom of this mess
"Sharon get the hell out here" Raymond shouted as he gets to the entrance of Sharon’s home
"Why are you shouting on my property?" Sharon yelled back as she glared at him
"I know what you did," Raymond said
"What did I do Mr Raymond? Please tell me because I don't know whatever is it your saying I did"
"Don't play dumb with me you know"
"I don't know what you're talking about you lunatic"
"So you were not the one who posted the video of our last encounter to ruin my image" Raymond said, his anger evident in his tone as he stared at her
Sharon had a puzzled expression on her face as Raymond explained the situation. "I assure you, Raymond, I had no knowledge of any such video being circulated," she insisted, with genuine concern in her voice.
Raymond studied her, trying to gauge her sincerity. Before he could press further, Lenny, one of Sharon's farm hands, approached nervously. "Mr. Raymond, I... I have something to confess," he stammered, avoiding eye contact.
Raymond's gaze hardened as he turned to face Lenny. "Did you have something to do with that video?" he demanded, his voice sharp with accusation.
Lenny swallowed hard, guilt written all over his face. "Yes, sir," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "I... I thought it would be funny, but I didn't realize the consequences..."
Raymond's jaw clenched as he struggled to contain his anger. "Funny?" he repeated incredulously. "Do you have any idea of the damage you've caused?"
Lenny hung his head in shame, unable to meet Raymond's gaze. "I'm sorry, Mr. Raymond. I'll do whatever it takes to make it right," he promised, his voice trembling with remorse.
Raymond sighed heavily, his frustration mingling with a sense of disappointment. "We'll deal with this later," he said tersely, turning away from Lenny. "First thing, you take that video off, I will think of a suitable punishment later."
"Whatever punishment you want to give, I will be the one to take it, lenny did it for me," Sharon said
"But-" Lenny tried to protest, but Sharon stopped him. Sharon stopped him
"It's okay, Lenny, I will handle this," Sharon said as she turned to Raymond, "what do you have in mind? A public apology?"
"That won't do shit, they will say I forced you to apologize further tarnishing my image," Raymond said
"So what do you want me to do?" Sharon asked
"I will get back to you on the punishment," he said firmly as he and wes turned to leave
"You're just going to leave like that?" Sharon asked
"Yes, don't rush me, I told you I will get back to you," Raymond said
"Okay then, till then," Sharon said as a frustrated sigh left her lips
"Till then, Miss Sharon."
"I know I'm going to regret this," Sharon mumbled to herself as she watched him drive away before turning to Lenny, "Why did you do that, Lenny? You could have been in big trouble if he decided to sue you. "
"I just wanted to get back at him for being rude to you, I'm sorry, Sharon," Lenny said
Sharon shook her head, torn between frustration and concern. "Lenny, I appreciate the sentiment, but you can't just take matters into your own hands like that. We'll have to find another way to handle it next time, okay?"
Of his actions. "I understand, Sharon. I'll be more careful in the future." Lenny said, his tone low
"I'm not scolding you, I just don't want you guys to get hurt, he is a very powerful man, we can't go up against him" Sharon said as Lenny nodded
"I understand, I will take down the video immediately" Lenny said
"Thank you, now let's get back to work" Sharon said as she let out a sigh, glancing back in the direction Raymond had driven off, hoping that her decision to let him go without immediate consequences wouldn't come back to bite her in the ass.
The next day, Raymond called Sharon and informed her of his decision. "Sharon, I've thought about it, and I've come to a conclusion. You will have to go on ten dates with me before I can consider forgiving that farm hand of yours," he stated firmly.
Sharon's voice trembled with disbelief. "Ten dates? That's outrageous, Raymond! I won't agree to such terms," she protested.
Raymond's tone turned cold. "Then consider your farm destroyed. You have until tomorrow to make your decision," he threatened before ending the call abruptly.
Life is so cruel, Sharon thought to herself as she stared at her fathers coffin being lowered into the ground. She has heard it happen to other people, but she never knew she would lose her father.
