Because he had to pack his suitcase the next day, Corbyn purposely set an alarm. However, it wasn't the alarm that woke him up but a phone call.

The ringtone was most likely annoying by design. Its high-pitched ringing pierced into his good dream like a very sharp needle.

Still in shock, Corbyn felt around for the source of the annoyance. He forced his eyes open and saw the word "Mom" on his screen. Feeling even more irritated, he answered the call. "What is it?"

To his surprise, Veronica sounded very much awake on the other end of the line. "Get your ass into the office now," she said frostily.

Corbyn rubbed his eyes. "Just what is going on?"

"Get your ass! Into! The! Office! Now!" Veronica repeated.

With that, she hung up.

Her attitude immediately alerted Corbyn to the fact that something very wrong had happened.

Right after Veronica hung up, Paxton called. "We're in huge trouble! The Bureau of Industry and Security has come to audit!" he said urgently.
