Chapter 54

#A thread in Corbyn's mind snapped.

In an instant, his headache went away. The inner turmoil and uneasiness disappeared, leaving behind a deathly stillness.

The light faded from his eyes, and they now looked indifferent. He looked as calm as Dean did now.

"Whatever," he said in a mechanical voice. "Let's break up."

Dean was stunned.

"I'm serious this time," Corbyn said.

He didn't know why he had suddenly made up his mind.

Dean clearly didn't know that the situation would have taken such a nosedive. Once again, his brain was overloaded and became unable to function. He had turned into a very beautiful statue again.

Corbyn waved a hand. "I believe you will respect my decision, right?"

Dean slowly returned to his senses. Turning his head robotically, he asked, "What?"

"You will respect my decision," Corbyn said. "That's the kind of person you are, right? You're rational and principled. Since I'm serious about breaking up, I believe you'll respect that."
