Liesel had spoken with an amicable smile on her face, as though she was inviting him into the conversation for the sake of including him.

However, Corbyn had no clue what they were even talking about, much less be able to weigh in. Liesel had only done that to put him in a difficult position.

The few people in the conversation turned to look at Corbyn expectantly, waiting for him to speak. Corbyn sucked in a breath, preparing himself to say, "I think everyone makes a fair point, but I agree with Dean's perspective the most, because his is the most interesting."

Although meaningless, that sentence could be used in any context. At least the conversation wouldn't die awkwardly.

Unexpectedly, Corbyn's phone began to ring.

"Great, what a lifesaver," he thought to himself with relief. Nevertheless, he put on a fake apologetic look and said, "Sorry, but this is a work call. I have to take it."
