Staying back at Eden City was everything I have ever wanted. And even while Kai made a clear promise I was going to be safe, I didn't doubt it. Because I knew he was going to stand by it and he was going to be with me all the way through.

The days that followed were calm. The lockdown had been lifted and Sara was up and running, telling me how much she was going to miss me now that she was finally going back to school, and also repeating repeatedly to everyone who cared to listen how we are all going to miss her when she leaves.
