When I got reports of Kai calling me over to his study, I immediately felt tense.

I knew the number of things Kai could do when he was furious and I couldn't fathom the real reason he could want me in his space after punching my nose the other day.

He has already asked me to leave. What could he still want from me? But I knew better than to refuse his order. I thought for a second whether he would want to talk things out about why I could never have Sara.

And my stomach churned at the thought. I had been bombarded with thoughts of never seeing Sara again, and my heart broke into layers at what the future might hold for me and Sara.
