Chapter 120

Maya's pov

I stayed still as water as Daniel's lips met mine.

I wanted to bite his lips and punch him right in the guts but that would blow my cover and I couldn't afford to blow my cover or use the last of my strength.

I needed to focus on getting us out of here and saving Micah.

This was all my fault after all.

As he continued to kiss me, I prayed to the moon goddess to quickly obliterate me.

I didn't want to have to be subjected to anymore of this torture but just like everyone of my prayers for the last couple of weeks, it went unanswered.

“Stop,” the words came out as a whisper even though I wanted to scream at him to let me go.

“What's wrong?” I heard Micah ask. We were still mindlinked.

“Nothing,” I lied.

“Are you sure? You sound distressed,”

He said again. I knew he could feel me more now especially since he was outside his cell but not enough to know what was actually going on.

“I'm sure. Just continue to pretend like you are sick,”

I pleaded with him.
