Angel's POV

“What's wrong?”

Gomez asked as soon as I stopped in my tracks.

“I picked up a scent.”

I said, trying to sniff the air, hoping I was right and not just wishfully thinking.

“Where?”

She asked, stepping beside me and sniffing the air herself.

“Somewhere from the north, it's Maya… she's here somewhere.” I looked around.

A loud gunshot sounded and my eyes cut to my sister.

“Did you hear that?” I asked her.

She nodded, looking at me with curiosity in her eyes.

We'd come back after my men had not been able to find anything all throughout last night.

I still hadn't said anything to the Alpha for a couple of reasons.

One, he wasn't bloody in the pack.

Makes me wonder why he'd gotten the crown to rule if he was ever barely in the pack and Two, I didn't want him to know I was here or of my existence not to mention my daughter's.

I didn't hate him but I had no love for him either.

“Follow me,” I said to my sister.

“Quietly and slowly,” I said to her.
