Chapter 100

Lydia's POV

The man at the door looked exactly like Maya but with shorter hair and two or three decades older.

"Tell me everything," he immediately said to Aunt Gomez who'd not had the time to welcome him.

"Welcome, Angel. " She said and opened the door wider.

Angel, who I assumed was Maya's father marched past me, towards the living room.

Aunt Gomez sighed and walked me out.

"Is that Maya's dad?" I asked as soon as we got to the driveway.

"Yeah. " Aunt Gomez answered.

"Can I help?* I asked.

"No, Lydia. Thank you for offering but we'll handle this. I just need you to be carefu. I'll get back to you on the letter."

I wanted to argue but Aunt Gomez didn't look like she was ready to listen to anything I had to say.

"Alright," I nodded and waved her goodbye.

I got my bike from where I had parked it and rode home.

On my way home. All I could think about was Maya and the letter I had gotten.

I needed to be on the lookout.

I just hoped I didn't get captured before Maya was found.
