BRIAN’S POV All of my pleading for her to stay fell on deaf ears, including my request for her to marry me. I wasn’t sure what my offense was, but whatever it was, wasn’t something that Blair could let go of, especially considering how much of a hurry she was in to leave. I held her hand and had tears in my eyes, but when we both saw how strong-willed she was about leaving, I let her go. Not for a single day did I stop loving her, in all the while of her absence. Her absence only made my heart desire her more, even though I initially wanted to be angry at her for humiliating me and running away. Steven remained in the mansion with me and ran the companies mostly from home. He had moved out because of Stacy and now our lives were gradually taking back its shape. As for Stacy and Collins, they seemed to have disappeared into thin air, because they were nowhere to be found, within the city and there was also no record of them leaving the city. I genuinely didn’t care so much abo
BRIAN’S POV I placed a few calls and flew over to Maldives in a private plan and arrived at the perfect hour. Sebastine ran the hotel’s, full time now, so I wore a disguise and snuck him out, making a U-turn with Sebastine to Vegas. Sebastine filled me up on everything he knew, while on the trip, and I took the entire trip, boiling in anger. I hoped that for Jane’s sake, she had not laid a single finger on Blair. I was going to have the her stripped of everything, including her life, if I arrived Vegas and found that as much as a strand of hair was missing, off her body. All through the trip, I was impatient and this felt like the slowest I arrived Vegas, from anywhere in the world. As soon as we arrived, we went straight to Mr. Williams’ residence. We arrived a few hours to midnight, and at the gate, we met Ashley, about to walk in. “Ashley!” I called out to her in a loud voice. She hurriedly turned around looking scared, but heaved a sigh of relief when she realized it was
BLAIR’S POV I was too ashamed to admit not having any money and when I walked out of the building, I began a two-hour walk from Winchester to Vegas. What was supposed to be a two-hour drive, ended up an entire day’s walk. When I finally arrived at Vegas, my legs were swollen and I was shivering. I was sick when I arrived, after missing my rescheduled flight. I arrived and laid on the sofa, without as much as food to eat. My temperature was hitting the top and my swollen feet grew heavier by the minute. All through the night, I struggled with fever and threw up all night. Early the next morning, I was still struggling, when I heard aggressive knocking on the door. I peeped through the window and because I did not recognize the men, who were both armed and masked, I went to hide in the kitchen. The men finally broke their way in and began to scatter everything, and I had no idea what they were looking for. I was very terrified and decided to hide myself in the cupboard in the
BLAIR’S POV I slowly opened my eyes and found that I was in a moving vehicle. There was no form of light whatsoever, so I assumed it was a moving truck. The speed and smoothness of the road scared me and I wasn’t sure where we might be headed. I rushed over to the door of the truck and started struggling to burst out. I tried as much as possible to be as quiet I could, because I didn’t want to get caught. The journey was quite a long one and it took me about twenty minutes to burst my way out. I was terrified, but had to take the bold step of jumping out of the moving vehicle. I landed on my knees and got injured on both my arms and legs. I laid still, so that the men could not see me through the side mirrors. When they were a good distance away from me, I crawled till I could finally pick myself up and started walking backwards. I had no idea where I was, or where the path led to. It was only a path in the middle of forest trees and there didn’t seem to be any residence a
BLAIR’S POV Brian insisted that I had to be away from Jane, so she would be unable to find me, if ever she wanted to go dirty with her plans. We were lodged in a luxurious hotel and the men were soon surrounding my bed. Steven had driven into town to provide a functional vehicle, since Brian showed up without one.Brian ordered me a large breakfast and while I ate, they discussed the elaborate plan to bring Jane to reveal more evidence of the things she had going on. “Guys, I do not care what she has going on, she killed somebody,” I emphasized,“She should be charged for that, right?” I queried. “I am a witness,” I added, “Yea, right,” Brian replied with an eye roll. “Because the police would just trap Jane down for a witness testimony on murder?” he asked,“Besides, didn’t that count as credit to her record?” Sebastine asked. “Yea,” Steven said, “Kieran was a terrible criminal and according to the record, Jane already recorded the murder and she did get credit for that,”“
BLAIR’S POVSebastine finally made his choice and well, I now had a team of three men and this was pretty much now a secret mission. It was like a battle against Master X, only, worse. If Jane publicly worked under the police, it was pointless to involve the cops. She had already succeeded in destroying all the files that would have helped me build a case against her, and now I had the most baseless case on my hands. We were packed three days later and ready to check out of the hotel. Brian thought that it was equally unsafe to return to Winchester, since that was definitely going to be the first place Jane would look. The men were packing our luggage, the ones we had to acquire, in the period we were here, while I stood beside the window, staring out at the environment. For days, I have had Dr. Bruce’s words in my head. There was no other reason I could find that would explain why Jane learnt that father was fighting a chronic disease and then decides to cut his medical atten
BLAIR’S POVBetween the men shooting at us, and the crazy driving speed, I was slightly terrified and couldn’t get my eyes off Sebastine the whole time. I was worried for him. Brian, Steven and I had been in terrible, life-threatening situations before, and at this point in my life, I couldn’t care any less if I lived or died. From the look on Sebastine’s face, he was freaking out. He literally had his heart in his mouth.I kept praying for his sake that we found safety. I was almost so sure that after this experience, he would want to return home. Our crazy drive continued for a few minutes. All of Brian’s vehicles were bullet proof, so we didn’t have to worry about being hit by the bullets they kept firing at us. They followed us, very furiously, and slowly, they were closing the gap. “I have to fix this,” Brian said. He opened one of the vehicle's storage holes and pulled out a gun. “Brian,” I called in a firm tone. Brian was seated in front with Steven, who was driving,
BLAIR’S POV “Blair,” “Blair,” I heard a calm voice calling. My blur vision was slowly clearing out and it took a few minutes for it to clear out and I finally noticed Steven above me. “Where am I?”“What is happening?” I queried with a weak voice. “We have to leave, now,” Steven said. I was still feeling pain in my head and some part of my body that got hit on the car wheel at the time of the accident. “I can’t explain right now,” Steven said. As long as we were in Vegas, with a woman like Jane roaming its streets, I knew there was always going to be a reason for unrest. Steven snuck me out of the hospital and when we arrived at the car, Sebastine was manning the wheel. Sebastine zoomed off, as soon as Steven and I arrived and I couldn’t help noticing that we now had a different car. Steven put me in front and sat behind with Briana, who was still unconscious. “What happened?” “Why is Brian not awake?”Both Steven and Sebastine did not readily offer any response and it m
