BLAIR’S POVBetween the men shooting at us, and the crazy driving speed, I was slightly terrified and couldn’t get my eyes off Sebastine the whole time. I was worried for him. Brian, Steven and I had been in terrible, life-threatening situations before, and at this point in my life, I couldn’t care any less if I lived or died. From the look on Sebastine’s face, he was freaking out. He literally had his heart in his mouth.I kept praying for his sake that we found safety. I was almost so sure that after this experience, he would want to return home. Our crazy drive continued for a few minutes. All of Brian’s vehicles were bullet proof, so we didn’t have to worry about being hit by the bullets they kept firing at us. They followed us, very furiously, and slowly, they were closing the gap. “I have to fix this,” Brian said. He opened one of the vehicle's storage holes and pulled out a gun. “Brian,” I called in a firm tone. Brian was seated in front with Steven, who was driving,
BLAIR’S POV “Blair,” “Blair,” I heard a calm voice calling. My blur vision was slowly clearing out and it took a few minutes for it to clear out and I finally noticed Steven above me. “Where am I?”“What is happening?” I queried with a weak voice. “We have to leave, now,” Steven said. I was still feeling pain in my head and some part of my body that got hit on the car wheel at the time of the accident. “I can’t explain right now,” Steven said. As long as we were in Vegas, with a woman like Jane roaming its streets, I knew there was always going to be a reason for unrest. Steven snuck me out of the hospital and when we arrived at the car, Sebastine was manning the wheel. Sebastine zoomed off, as soon as Steven and I arrived and I couldn’t help noticing that we now had a different car. Steven put me in front and sat behind with Briana, who was still unconscious. “What happened?” “Why is Brian not awake?”Both Steven and Sebastine did not readily offer any response and it m
BLAIR’S POV I waited two more days to get stronger and also plan for my journey, all behind their backs. On the day Brian found out about the baby, he gave me a card to cover for any expense I may have that concerned me and the baby. I had decided to return and face my fight. A lot of people had suffered already and were still suffering from the war that I ignited. ‘Enough was enough,’On the third morning, as planned, very early, before the first ray of sunlight hit the surface, I snuck out of the hospital and hurried to the airport in a disguise. Throughout the flight, I was quiet and didn’t respond to anyone’s pleasantry. My mind was fixed on the war ahead of me. It was a twelve-hour long flight to Vegas, but worth every single minute of it. I arrived at the mansion and immediately started yelling for Jane. There were no domestic staff and the house was very empty, from the gate to the rooms. “Blair?” I heard a faint call from behind the house. I followed the voice and
BLAIR’S POV I wasn’t accepting Jane’s verdict, so I took my father to Dr. Bruce. He was rushed to the emergency unit, immediately we arrived. Ashley and I kept pacing the hallway, waiting for Dr. Bruce’s report. I was freaking out and shaking. There was no possible way to keep calm, especially since the doctors were now taken a lot longer than I hoped or anticipated. After a few more hours, Dr. Bruce finally showed up.“Where’s Mrs. Williams?” he questioned. It was not until he asked that I realized that she had left us in the hallway and was sitting in her car. “How is my father,” I queried. “Well, Miss Williams,” he took a deep breath. “I did tell you that Mr. Williams was diagnosed with a renal disease, which could have been tackled appropriately if he didn’t stop coming to the hospital,” Dr. Bruce announced. “What are you saying?” I probed,“What is the implication?” Dr. Bruce appeared to be struggling with words. “I’m afraid Mr. Williams now requires a transplant,” he
BLAIR’S POV Dr. Bruce and I agreed to keep the procedure away from both Jane and Ashley. I was also footing the bills, since all Jane majorly did was complain about how the company was in a terrible state. After asking a hundred times if I was really ready to do this, Dr. Bruce had to give in to my request, and we scheduled the first phase of the procedure for the next day. All through the night, I couldn’t sleep. I was stressed about my choice, but I didn’t feel like I had any other options. Very early the next morning, I snuck out of the house, which was now not such a difficult thing to do, since the mansion was pretty much empty. I arrived at the hospital and Dr. Bruce insisted that full blood tests be conducted, to see if I was a match for my father. All I could do was hope and pray, as I waited for the results from the doctor. Knowing that he wasn’t my biological father, it was going to be a miracle to see that we were a match, but I was counting on that miracle. I wai
BLAIR’S POV Brian’s entrance definitely came off as scary and the entire process was immediately put on hold. “I am the father, and this is without my consent,” Brian announced to Dr. Bruce. Dr. Bruce was surprised to find out that I was pregnant for my father’s staff. At least it was a good thing that Dr. Bruce knew nothing about the family anymore. A lot had really changed. I was definitely going to credit that to Jane. Dr. Bruce was a close friend of my father and my father used to tell him everything. Subsequently, Jane started to complain about their relationship and she omitted Dr. Bruce’s name from the monthly parties. I guess her plan worked well at the end of the day and the both of them were now very distant. My father only returned here due to his health and he was with Ashley most of the time, so they had no conversations whatsoever. My father was also unconscious most of the time and that largely explained why Dr. Bruce was not up to date in our lives. I was go
BLAIR'S POV Brian asked me to come with him, and I did. Since we still had a few weeks, Dr. Bruce advised that I not make any hasty decisions and I could subtly see how excited he was, since he was not readily in support, in the first place. Brian and Steven took me to a restaurant, where Brian exclusively reserved. As we sat, was when I was finally able to realize that Brian's arm had a cast. “Your arm,” I pointed out.“Of course,” Steven replied. “On the day of the surgery, the specialist showed up and said there was no need for an amputation,” Steven said, “So yea, it would take a couple of months, but he'll be fine,” Steven concluded. “Well, that is good news,” I said, but not with a lot of excitement in my tone. “So?” I asked. “Mr. Williams’ high school lover was pregnant for him, but she only found out after Mr. Williams was out of town.” “His family had relocated and by her testimony, all efforts she made to reach him was, well…” “Fruitless,” Brian explained. “Eve
BLAIR’S POV The next day, the doctors were ready for the surgery and Brian and I paced the hallway for hours, waiting for report from the surgery. We spent ten hours in the hallway, within which Brian brought different meals for me, but the desire to eat was far from me. I was hoping that my father found the strength to fight. Interestingly, within this period, Jane did not show up at the hospital. It was also not Ashley's day to visit, so I was the only family present. I begged the doctor to not report the status of the surgery to Jane or Ashley. Although Jane had been pretty much on her best behavior, I still couldn't trust her. She had proven to be a major threat to my life, more than once, and added to that, I had seen her take a life that she loved. As far as I was concerned, she was capable of anything. I knew there were phases to her life and even though I had placed all of that on hold, so I can concentrate on my father's health, I also had it in mind to expose all of
