BLAIR’S POV I immediately ditched the idea of running off to bed and pulled through the activities of the night, with a very distracted mind. Stacy, on the other hand, retired to bed, almost immediately after we returned to join the men. As I predicted, Ashley was dead drunk and my father had to get some rest, after taking his medications. I was the only one who hung around and at almost 3am, I saw that they were unwilling to get rest, so I gave up on the wait. I retired to bed and tried to get some good sleep. BLAIR’S POV I got paired with Collins, Ashley had Ronald, my father had Sebastine, and Brian picked Stacy. ‘Classic exchange.’ Although it was very random, I loved how it turned out. I knew that Stacy felt more comfortable with Brian, and if she was going to speak to someone about what was bothering her, Brian was her best pick. I also needed a conversation with Collins, so, it was a double win. The different pairs walked two kilometers away from each other, moving round the park. For the first few minutes, Collins and I were having a really quiet walk, until…“I noticed you’ve been awfully quiet and zoned out,” I said. BLAIR’S POV “Collins, wait!” I yelled, running after him. “I see you are clueless.” He said, in a pretty dense tone, “No wonder you pulled through with the wedding,” “What is going on?” At this point, I had my suspicions, but I was unwilling to say anything about it, until someone confirmed it. “They are sleeping with each other,” Collins unapologetically dropped the bomb on me. My jaw fell to the floor and my eyes increased its radius. “Or at least, they were, the entire time he returned to Winchester.” Collins said, I was dumbfounded. My emotions were a mixture of pain, betrayal, but also that of regret and understanding. For the next couple of hours, Collins and I sat under a tree, on a bench and just had conversations. “I have tolerated Stacy for the longest time. BLAIR’S POV It took another five minutes of just staring at each other, seated side by side each other, before Brian spoke up. “I know you have so much you want to say already, so please, just do so already,” he pleaded, “Yell at me. Scold me. Punch me. Do whatever, say whatever.” “Anything that makes you better. I just need to hear what you have in your heart.” He said. I stared at Brian with a side smile. Unfortunately, contrary to Brian’s thoughts or fears, there was nothing in my heart. I was empty and clueless, struggling with every single thing. I had no thoughts, no basic emotions in my heart. All I had was one wish, that we could both go back in time and act better, but since that was not a possibility, what was there to say? I took a deep breath, before ushering myself into the room. It was like, with Brian, no one ever knew what to expect or what not to. So, I slowly pushed the door and walked into the room. “Brian?” I called in a soft tone.I found him sitting on the bed, with his thighs as floor to his elbows and his hands, put together and over his face. I sighed again, halfway before I got to him and sat in bed, staring into blank space, as he was. Minutes went by and he still had nothing to utter and the entire scenario became rather scary. ‘Say something,’ I was pleading deep within, but could not voice out, since I didn’t want to seem pushy or anything. BLAIR’S POV “Sebastine!” I was quite delighted to find him here.“Someone doesn’t seem very excited,” he said, “At least, not for a bride.” He added.I ran to him with a hug. Sebastine first took Regal away from me and with one hand, pulled me into a tight hug. “He still wants her, Sebastine.” I lamented. “It is not enough that he had something to do with her, now he’s depressed that she…” My words were choking in my tears, and I wasn’t sure whether or not he understood, but he was dedicated to listening to me. “Shiiiii,” he said softly, asking me to keep quiet, “Take a deep breath,” he added. I took a deep breath and pacified my crying. Sebastine and I got to a bench and sat down, discussing every event. BLAIR’S POV Brian had taken me back to the room, where I was quietly sat on the bed. It was a miracle that he showed up when he did. Sebastine had immediately let go of me. The exchange of their gazes, for a few seconds, before we left, was quite terrifying. It was as though a war was going to break out between them. Thankfully, Brian remembered that Sebastine was now the owner of the resort and the entire security would come down heavy on him, if at all a strand of hair on Sebastine’s body was tempered with. “Are you just going to stand there in silence?” I queried Brian. “What do you want me to say?” he turned around, staring at me and questioned. “Not only did you succeed in discussing our family with a boy with evil intentions, you broke your sister too.” Brian said. I was boiling with rage. “Don’t you dare speak to me about bringing embarrassment and hurt to family, because you are the very reason all of this is happening.” I yelled at him. BLAIR’S POV All I wanted to do was sit in a spot, with no activity at all, until I eventually joined my sister. I battled with guilt and pain that was too much for me to carry. It was all my fault. I sat recalling the words of the doctor. “She gave up on fighting.” He announced. Words could not explain how I felt. I wished that she spoke to me. I wished that I got to apologize. I was never going to forgive myself, or Sebastine for not going after her. Even though, I wished that I had done it myself. Ashley must have hated us so much, she did not want to be in the same environment. She left us and ran into the streets, headed only the universe knows where, only to be knocked down by a vehicle. The fact that she had no one with her in her last minutes, made cry even more. She must have felt lonely, unloved and rejected. I kept pleading for her forgiveness in death, even though my heart condemned me. I knew I was unworthy of her forgiveness. I was not deserving of the love she
