Dinner

Lilian walked outside the company with Sue.

"I am so sorry Sue, we might have to postpone dinner tonight, it's already late." Lilian told Sue with an apologetic tone.

"It's okay Lilian, we can do dinner tomorrow." Sue said.

"Or do you want to have dinner at my place with my family?" Lilian offered.

"Really? Would your parents be okay with that"

"Of course they would be, they have been wanting to meet you for a while."

"Okay, let's go then."

Lilian stopped a cab and she and Sue entered inside and headed to her home.

When she got home, she immediately went to carry Lavender who giggled upon seeing her.

"Hey my little boy, I missed you so much." she cooed to him.

"Awwn, he is much cuter in real life." Sue said as she played with him.

"Hey Lilian, how was work?" Aunty Rebecca asked.

"Work went okay, by the way, this is Sue, I told you guys about her." Lilian made the introductions.

"Pleased to meet you dear, Lillian here has told us all about you. Thanks for looking after her at work."

"There is no need to thank me ma'am. Lilian is an absolute angel and she looks after me too."

"That is wonderful to hear." Aunt Becca said.

"I invited her over for dinner. Is that okay?" Lilian asked.

"Yes, dear. It's very okay." Aunt Becca said with a smile.

"You see Sue, it's okay." Lilian said.

"Thanks Mrs Howard." Sue told Aunt Becca.

"Sit down and relax girls, dinner would soon be ready."

"Thanks." Lilian and Sue chorused.

Lilian and Sue sat down and played with Lavender while Aunt Becca set the table for dinner.

"Girls come to the table." she called out to them when everything was ready.

"OK mum, we are coming." Lilian replied.

She carried Lavender up and she and Sue went to the dining table.

Uncle Daniel came out and joined them.

"And who is this?" he asked as he glanced at Sue.

"She is Sue, my coworker I have told y'all about." Lilian responded.

"Oh, hello dear. It is a pleasure to meet you." Uncle Daniel said.

"It's a pleasure to meet too sir." Sue replied.

They all started eating the food.

"How was work today dear?" Uncle Daniel asked.

"it was fine, just a little problem with my salary."

"Why? What happened."

"I was paid $1,300,000 instead of $13,000."

"What! How can such a mistake happen?"

"The staff in charge of payment made the mistake"

"Well he/she ought to be more careful in the future. What if you had been a greedy person and run away with the money." aunt Becca said.

"Exactly what I said." Sue added.

"What then happened?" uncle Daniel asked.

"I went to the account department and refunded the extra money."

"That's my girl. I am so proud of you." uncle Daniel told Lilian.

Lilian glowed with the praise.

"By the way Sue, guess who I met today?" Lilian asked Sue.

"Who?"

"Our boss, one of the Romano brothers."

Sue gasped, "You are lying right."

"I am not lying."

"Which of them?"

"Alessandro."

"Oh my God!" Sue screamed.

"You have no idea how lucky you were. The other girls will be green with envy." Sue said.

"Who is this Alessandro fella?" Uncle Daniel asked.

"He is one pair of the Romano twins, they run the company. We have Alessandro Romano our CEO and Ricciardo Romano our CFO." Sue informed them.

"It sounds like they are famous." Aunt Becca remarked.

"They are very famous ma'am. They are both handsome and rich and from an influential family. They are the most eligible bachelors in this city." Sue replied.

"Wow! Lilian is he really handsome?" aunt Becca asked.

"Yes aunt, he is really that handsome." Lilian answered truthfully.

"Oh Lilian! I really wished I was the one with the payment issue so I could meet him." Sue said wistfully.

"And what would you have done?" Lilian asked bemused.

"I would have professed my underlying love for him." Sue replied.

Everybody burst into laughter. "You are so funny Sue" Lilian said.

Dinner continued in this way with jokes and laughter and then it was time for Sue to leave.

"Thank you Ma'am and Sir, I had a nice time tonight." Sue thanked them.

"Oh sweetie you can just call us by our names and thanks for coming over, we had a lot of fun. We hope you come again soon." Aunt Becca said.

"Of course ma'am."

"I will see her off now." Lilian said.

"OK, bye Sue." Uncle Daniel and Aunt Becca bid goodbye to Sue.

Lilian and Sue left the house, they stood outside waiting for a cab.

"Your parents are really nice." Sue said.

"I know and I am blessed to have them."

"And little Lavender is so adorable. It's such a shame his father passed away too soon. Do accept my condolences Lilian"

"It's fine Sue. That's life for you."

A cab stopped in front of them.

"Well goodnight and sleep well." Lilian told Sue.

"You too. Bye friend."

"Bye Sue." Lilian replied.

Sue got into the cab and the cab sped off.

Lilian sighed as she looked at the retreating end of the car. Sue was truly a good friend and she was lucky to have her.

She brought out her phone and texted Aunt Becca.

"I am going for a run, I will be back later."

"Be careful" her aunt responded.

Lilian jogged to the forest at the back of her house. She took off her clothes, hid them and changed into wolf form then she ran into the bush.

As she ran, she felt the breeze run through her fur and her body relaxed.

Later she lay down, still in her wolf form near the small pond in the forest.

While Lilian had told her parents and Sue everything about Alessandro. She had left out an important detail. Alessandro was a werewolf. A very powerful Alpha werewolf.

For her sake, she deeply hoped that he hadn't taken notice of her. The last thing she needed was a curious werewolf enquiring about her.
