SAGE

Even though I had walked out with no hopes of listening to her any longer, I did not stop thinking for a moment about what she said.

There were glints of truth that I could see in her eyes, unlike the other times when she did nothing else but lie.

Does that mean she was telling the truth?

I stopped in my tracks, shaking my head. Did that mean that I was truly thrown out of the hospital by a woman who should not have let me go in the first place?

My legs began to walk again, and I stopped once more in my tracks. Indeed, I found myself in the wild one day, and discovered I was a Silver wolf when most people came for me, and after speaking to Silver for the first time in my love.

Was it Mother who sent them after me as soon as she dumped me? Why wasn't I even killed? These and many more questions were running around in my head even when I had started to walk again.

I wish that I had come with Aella.

Eleanor would not have the chance to say this nonsense to me in the presence

KNOXIn the comfort of my chamber, I waited for the arrival of my nephew. I hadn't heard from him for two days and this wasn't his fault, but rather myself who had asked the guard to not let anyone in—in the meantime. I was having the rest of my life and from the look of things, I had had more than enough and had become ready to take in visitors—Aegon especially, into my chamber. Snapping my fingers once again, I watched the door to my chamber push open, and the guard at the door walked into the space. “My lord,” he said with a bow. “Is there something I can do for you?” Bowing again, he asked. “Yes—” I nodded, looking around the space before meeting his gaze. “I need to ask. Did you speak to my nephew about coming to see me? I know I asked you to do that a while ago, but I need to be sure that we're on the same page.” He bowed. “Yes, my lord. I have done that.” “Good,” I nodded, thinking of the next errand to send him on. “Would you be kind enough to arrive at the kitchen and l

Sage's PovI, Princess Sage of Moonclaw pack, sever all ties with the pack,” I declared sternly, facing all three of them. It was over. I wasn't going to take anymore of this from any of them again.I took off my crown and tossed it at Eleanor. “You can keep it.”Thirty minutes agoIt happened so fast. In a blink of an eye Eleanor threw herself down the staircase. What the fuck! I watched her body tumble down the stairs in a flurry of arms and legs. "AHHHHHHHH!" She screamed her way down, hitting the ground with a loud thud.In seconds, Regan and Alistair barged into the living room, and their gaze widened when they saw her on the floor.“Eleanor!” They yelled, rushing across the room hastily. “Are you okay?” Alistair helped her up while Regan fussed over her to check if she had gotten hurt anywhere.“What happened to you?” Regan asked her and I turned to leave. I barely took two steps when her next three words made me halt in my tracks.“She pushed me,” she replied.Wait, what?I sw

Sage's PovAlastair bursted into laughter. “You sever all ties with us?” He echoed with enough mockery in his voice to fill the room, “Is this some kind of joke, Sage?”“It's not!” I retorted, “I'd rather return to being a rogue than continue to live another day here being treated like an outsider or even worse an idiot!” Regan chuckled loudly, and I shot him a stern look, clenching my fist, “You'd rather return to being a rogue? You didn't just say that, did you?” He reiterated mockingly, “Your weak wolf wouldn't survive a day out there if you leave.”I smirked, “Is that what you think? You forget, brother. I survived years of being a rogue on my own before I was found and brought back to this family. If I could survive it then, I sure as hell know that I can do it again,” I enunciated and turned, walking away.“They will kill you once they discover Silver,” Alastair said, bringing me to a full halt, and I turned to him. He was right. They would, but still, I prefer to take that cha

Sage's povMy heart literally dropped to the ground as my name echoed through the air. What?? Did I hear her wrong? Everyone's eyes steered in my direction, and from the look on their faces.I didn't hear her wrong. It felt like I'd been punched in the gut, my breath knocked out of me.My eyes locked onto Eleanor's smug face,“What if she takes my place or should I say her rightful place?” she glanced at me, and my stomach curled as the fear crept up my spine like a chill, making my skin crawl. This couldn't be happening. No. It shouldn't be happening. This was her fate not mine. I felt sick to my stomach but even more helpless.“Think about it, it would be the most sensible thing to do, seeing as she's your true daughter. That way we can still avoid the war, and I'm sure Princess Sage wouldn't mind sacrificing herself for her lovely family, after all, it's her role as Princess.”Bitch! She's turning my words against me.I couldn't summon words. I just stared blankly at her, feeling th

Knox's PovA knock echoed through the study, and I shot my gaze to the door. “Come in.”The door creaked open and the clan's physician, Galen walked into the room. He bowed his head the second the door closed behind him, “Alpha Knox.”“Come. Take a seat,” I ushered, getting to my feet to pour us some wine. I handed him a glass, and took my seat across from him, helping myself to some wine.“So? How is my nephew?” I asked, dropping the glass on the table.“Well,” Galen dropped his glass on the table as well, “Prince Aegon's symptoms are becoming more and more severe. I've given him some herbs to control the symptoms, and make the pain subside but…” he trailed off, “There's only so much pain it can ease. You know that well.”I nodded, “I know, and that's precisely why he needs this marriage alliance.”“So it's true. You plan to have him wed to the princess of Moonclaw pack.”“Indeed, I do,” I got to my feet, and walked to the window, looking out, “It is the only solution. It will give h

KNOX My heart stopped as my gaze fell on her, descending the stairs and everything around me seemed to disappear until all I could see was her—all I could breathe. She didn't even look at me. I didn't think she wanted to. If anything I thought she looked bitter. Bitter and yet beautiful. The way my Wolf reacted to the presence of an ordinary, small woman, was uncalled for. I could hardly compose myself as I stood there, staring at her. I shut and opened my eyes. What was happening? “Mate—” from the inner part of me, the manly voice of my wolf muttered. I had never heard it sound this way. It was supposed to be a stubborn creature, domineering the other wolves whenever there was combat. Not this way. It sounded weak—like it had been conquered by something. Someone. Someone in the room. Someone who just walked into the room. Mate? Mate?! Did I hear mate? How was this even possible? Looking away, I looked around the room. The Alpha, his wife

SAGEHow could they do a thing like that to me?!Who on the face of the earth—will consciously reject their child like they all of a sudden no longer matter? As I paced the room I was brought into the moment we reached the pack, these and many more thoughts were running around in my head. Wrapping my hand around an answer was also an impossible thing to do, and for once, it dawned on me that the people I called ‘family’ hated me so much. How dare they?!Rage was an understatement of how I felt at this very moment. And for all that I knew, there was only one thing stopping me from running away from this pack and heading back to the Moonclaw Pack to carry out a well-deserved revenge on them. Especially Eleanor. That bitch. I would rip her heart out of her chest if I could. Why wouldn't I? She had finally become a thorn in my flesh and only one thing stopped me from dealing with her. It was the unavailability of my wolf. Something had happened to Silver. Something I had yet to dec

SAGEWhy did I wake? The knock on the door made me flinch.“No—” mouthing, I realized it was time to meet the ugly Lycan Prince, my husband to be. “No—” Once more, the word ran out of my mouth and I jumped to my feet. “Are you in there, my lady?” Unlocking the door, I walked back to the bed and took my seat. “You're disturbing my sleep.” “The door to your room shouldn't be locked, Lady Sage. We have to get you ready to meet the prince,” One of them said with a bow. The ugly prince, I thought dreadfully.“Good morning, Lady Sage. I'll be the one to bathe you this morning," the other maid said, stepping forward. “What? I can bathe myself the last time I checked.” “The Alpha has given his order,” she explained, shutting the door behind her while both of them walked closer. “Let's get to it already, Lady Sage.” Before the end of the next hour, I was seated on the dressing chair with a towel wrapped around my body. I didn't want to do this. I wasn't ready to. Not to an ugly man.

SAGE“When did I become important to you that you'll need to check up on me? I don't rate you. You don't rate me. Why then do you pretend to care about me?” “Oh, you know that I don't rate you,” she scoffed. “I only wanted to talk to you about something. I cannot recall the last time we engaged in a real conversation and that's all I'm trying to do right now. I know you want it.”Such a pathetic human. What was she thinking? “I need to take a tray of food from the kitchen, Eleanor. Gone are the days when you thought I had your time. Now, I don't, in case it's very hard for you to see.” Turning around once more, I walked away. She sounded like she had something important to talk about. But there was me who didn't have any interest in it. Walking to the door of the kitchen in a short while, I peeped into the space before walking in. Everyone who did one or two things stopped. “My lady,” as if it was planned, they all echoed. “Where is your maid? You shouldn't be here for any rea

SAGEOf all the things to hear him say, I didn't expect this. Not for a fleeting moment did I expect that, which caused me to look up so that I could see his face and be certain that this wasn't a set-up. “Aegon,” looking away, I looked at him once more. “Did I hear you correctly?” Smiling to cover up what I could feel inside of me, I asked again. “What did you say, my lord?” He adjusted on the bed once more, a worried look clouding his expression. “Forgive me, my lady. But don't you think we should make babies? Did you think that you would stay away from me for the rest of your life in this room?” “No, I didn't think that,” it was more of a genuine smile than a fake one. “You know fully well how willing I am to carry your child, or don't you? The truth remains that I wasn't expecting you to ask for it too soon.” He nodded. Standing on his feet also. “I understand and I am sorry if it came out too soon. But since we got married, we have yet to do what a husband and wife should d

SAGE Keenly, I watched him. I was in search of that look. The same one I had expected from Aegon. There was a look on his face. But it wasn't a look of disappointment. It was the kind that expressed shock and pity. “I'm so sorry.” What for?I looked away. “I'm just saying, my lord.”“I know,” he let out, walking briefly before stopping in his tracks. “But you shouldn't have a thing to worry about. The last time I checked, you're family more than she is and as a matter of fact, we would protect the both of you. From each other if possible. Do you understand?”He was the one who wasn't understanding. Was it so hard to understand that my sister—that bitch who I have no relationship whatsoever with, is a snake? How hard was it? I looked at the poor Alpha, recalling that the Prince had talked about him taking drugs a certain time when I was newly brought into the Pack. “Are you sick, my lord?” Shock on his countenance, he looked at me. “How do you mean? Do I look sick to you, Sag

KNOXNo one needed to tell me that the wife of my nephew was angry that I would do something like that. I, myself, wasn't expecting such a thing from myself but what would she have me do? Chase the woman away or rather, make it obvious that we wanted her out of the pack. During the day, I discussed with Doctor Logan who tried his best to convince me to get married. “Did my nephew talk you into talking to me about marriage, Logan? How many more times before you finally give up?” Sipping from the bottle, I looked at him again. “No amount of advice will make me change my mind. As a matter of fact, not even the Moon Goddess will make me change my mind. Don't you understand?” “My lord—”“No, Logan—” cutting him short, I got on my feet. “Why not tell me what the test results say? I need to know if my death is soon. This way, I shall lecture the young man on what to do when I am gone.”“The test results says the same thing.” I turned to face him, shutting my closet door. “No differenc

  • THE SILVER HEAD LUNA; WHEN HER WOLF HOWLS   THIRTY-EIGHT: AGAINST HER EXPECTATIONS

SAGE Today was one of those days when it was mandatory that the royal family gather at the dining hall to eat. Waking up with a slight headache, I questioned myself on why I didn't sleep early the previous night. My gaze now drifted to the door when a hand knocked on it. That was Aella—I didn't need to ask. “Come on in already—” I cried. “The door is opened.” In a moment, it was pushed open. “Good morning, my Lady,” with a bow, she greeted. “It is a pleasant surprise to see your door open for the first time while you sleep. Is there a reason for that?”“Get me off this bed and don't ask silly questions.”“Oh, my lady,” she walked closer. “I should have known you forgot to do the locking and that's why your door is unlocked. What shall I do for you?” “Aella!” Holding back my laughter, I let her help me up. “They'll be waiting at the dining hall by now in case you've forgotten. Why not concentrate on dressing me up rather than gossiping about why I forgot to lock my door?” “Apol

  • THE SILVER HEAD LUNA; WHEN HER WOLF HOWLS   THIRTY-SEVEN: CONFESSION

SAGEThat wasn't so shocking to hear. What did I expect from a man as strong as Knox and the rest of his members? Of course, they have to have ended lives long before my existence in the pack—and maybe the world in general. Now was my turn to speak, with a nod that I gave, I sat up, and fed Aegon with a spoonful of the meal. “I have heard more than enough tales about the Alpha, and I'm certain that this strength applies to you.” He chuckled. “What?” I fed him again. “Nothing, my lady. It's just—” He trailed off, taking it up once more. “I am a strong man. In the history and existence of this pack, I don't think that there's been a weak man. I am a strong man but my uncle doesn't want me involved in things like that. According to him, I may resume fighting as soon as I mount his throne as the next Alpha.” That was a relief. From the onset of my life, I had wanted a strong man for my husband, but I didn't want him with so much blood on his hands and that's just what I discovered

SAGEI looked at Aella who looked at me. The spoon hung in her hand, causing me to almost laugh but nothing was funny. Not when she told me about the rules of this pack. “Hi, Aegon—”“What is going on here?” Aegon, who was more interested in what was happening, walked into the room with the same questioning gaze plastered on his countenance. “Don't you know the rules any longer, Aella?” “I do,” she dropped the spoon. “My lady insisted that I join her, so I did. I'm sorry, Prince Aegon.” Aegon looked at me. “Did you ask her to join you?”“Yes,” I dropped my spoon as well. “She's not going to be here with me if I don't ask her to. And she tried refusing but I didn't let it happen because I needed company also. I'm sorry, Prince Aegon.” He nodded. “You can continue your eating.”Aella shook her head. “Go on, Aella. I have already asked you.” She took a seat again, of course after bowing to the Prince and maybe me. “Thank you.” The new week came in a hurry. With a smile on my c
