SAGE

In my room, and a few days after the moment in the dining room, I paced the space with many thoughts that filled my head. From the look of things, I could not have an answer to my question but this, at the same time, did not stop me from thinking about what my so-called sister could be up to.

That bitch who would do anything. Anything at all to get what she wants. What was she up to this time around? I looked at the door when it seemed like someone was about to walk in, but no one was about to walk in.

Tired from pacing the space, I took a seat on the bed and started to rack my head once again.

What was she up to?

Leaving the pack shouldn't be on her list of options—so how come was this even happening? I looked at the door again, concentrating on my thoughts once more.

Then, my thoughts drifted to the moment at the dining table. How I lost my temper because of that woman who looked at me from the head down to my toes with a decision to make me look like a fool.

SAGEThe most awaited day arrived. Staring down at what went on in the compound from the window, I gazed at the car that would take my so-called sister back to The Moonclaw Pack. A smile came on my countenance and I heaved a sigh. There was happiness in me, mixed with curiosity, anxiety, and even fear. But why should I worry? In the meantime, the Prince was mine and nothing would take him away from me. Not even a woman born by a housecleaner who ended up being an adoptive princess. “Yes—” I didn't know when the word ran out of my mouth, but it did, anyway. A guard opened the door for her and she hopped in, while another hopped in the driver's seat and another hopped in the backseat where Eleanor was. And just about that time, the car moved. There was a sigh of relief—the kind I had seldom heaved, ran out of my mouth. I fell on the bed and drifted to sleep almost immediately, certain that a smile was on my face while I was at it. Later in the evening, I woke up with a slight h

KNOX **One Month Later It was a month after my nephew and his wife had intercourse, and there were no signs of pregnancy. Or was there? Worry clouded my face on a morning like this and the very moment I opened my eyes. Maybe it was because of the nightmare I had just woken up from—when my nephew was in trouble and in need of help. The child was our savior. And the last time I checked, Aegon wasn't any better. Maybe he was, but I needed to hear the news and be certain that there was a way out of this. Snapping my fingers, I relaxed my back on the bed once more. “Good morning, Brian,” I greeted the guard who walked in. “How about you call the Prince for me? I would love to have a word or two with him.” I sat up now, heaving a sigh. “Can you be fast about it?” “Good morning, my lord,” Brian bowed. “Give me a moment to call the Prince. Is there someone else you would love for me to call on your behalf?” I thought about it, shaking my head almost immediately. Th

SAGE **One Month Later Once again, I was out of my room and walking through the hallway with many thoughts running around in my head. The last time, I had given my blood sample to Doctor Logan who ran a pregnancy test on me—only to be told that I wasn't with child. How was that even possible? And again, I had given my blood sample to him just last week—just so we could try again. In my heart, I wished for a positive result. Never in my life have I been so scared. The fear that ran through my veins on this day could not be compared to the one I used to have while living in The Moonclaw Pack. I was beginning to feel unsafe. Anxious and worried about what this result could be. “My lady!” From behind, someone called. It was a more familiar voice that caused me to turn around as I managed a smile on my countenance. “Yes, Aella.” “My lady—” the younger woman walked closer. “Are you leaving the pack for a walk? Why did you not come to call me so that I could at least join you?” S

SAGE**One Month LaterI didn't know what to do anymore. Not when there were no signs of pregnancy after another month since the last test result. Obviously, Aegon had become frustrated and at this point and I didn't have the slightest idea what to say to him. Because how could I say something when I didn't know what exactly the issue was? It was another morning and I wished that I did not wake. Aegon, my handsome husband, was lying next to me on the bed. He was facing the other side of the bed which was what I wanted. But how do I stand up and leave for the bathroom, or maybe out of the chamber? Aella, these days didn't do much as usual. I had gotten to the point where I bathed myself and walked out of the room, heading to the kitchen so that I could take a tray of meals for myself. Sometimes, Aegon also. Sitting up on the bed, I realized that Aegon wasn't next to me there. So who did I see a while ago? Perhaps, it was because of how sleepy I was and that was why I could not

SAGETonight, the full moon will come out. Once again, I looked forward to giving my blood to the man I was married to. The last time I checked, it was important I did that, even though I didn't have the slightest idea why this was part of their traditions. It was in the evening, and everyone was getting ready to be gathered in the compound for the event. No, the moment. In my chamber, I looked at myself in the mirror. Aella, who should be getting me dressed, left the chamber a while ago to get me a bottle of water. The last time I checked, more than enough energy was needed for this cause and I could not wait for this moment to come and go so that I could go back to the life I used to have—before the full moon. And get ready for the next full moon. Did my life have to be a mess? “My lady,” the door opened again. “Aella,” I looked at her. “Where is my husband?” “I don't know but he has to be with the Alpha,” she walked closer and dropped the bottle on the table. “Would you

ELEANOR My eyes opened on the bed in the space of my chamber. It wasn't in the morning, but evening. I had just woken up from a nap and this was my time to have something. Anything at all as long as it filled my stomach. Sitting up on the bed, I looked around the room. There was something I told myself I would do the very moment I came awake, and I can't recall. Why was that? Standing up on my feet as I jumped off the bed, I reminded myself that there was no reason at all to rush. Not now or ever. Nothing left my head without coming back, and now that I needed to eat, it was better I did that. Ever since I left The Darkfangs Pack, I have never had so much peace. A soothsayer didn't need to let me know about the predicament my sister was going through before it would come to my notice. On several occasions, I had seen it in my dream—the pain in her eyes. Her hate for me and a wish that all of these would come to an end. Which brings me to my time to strike. Reaching the bathr

ELEANOR “What do you say, Prince Aegon?” He was silent, just as I expected. What was going through his mind? What else if not the fact that he was going to cheat on his wife? Maybe not cheating but he was just about to say ‘yes’ to me who was an enemy to his wife. What would Sage have the poor man do? She has taken over him so much that it was hard for him to recognize other people. Such a bitch like she was. At this point, I was beginning to run out of patience but what would I have myself do? For all that I knew, if I was ever going to have Aegon next to me and on my side, I would have to embrace the act of having patience. Just like I was now.Although it was likely to not last because I had never encountered such nonsense and waste of time in all my life. SAGEIt was another morning and maybe the next full moon would be out tonight. I didn't keep calculations of the event because it didn't excite me like it used to. Heading into the bathroom for a quick shower on my own, I walked out to the rays of sunlight hitting the window not so far from the bed. By this time, Aegon was still asleep which was very unusual. It looked like he was reserving his strength for something and I wondered at the same time what it could be—also letting myself know that the man needed as much rest as he could get and that was what he was doing. “Good morning, Aegon,” I called, trying to see if he could wake up but there was nothing like that and I gave up. Leaving the space, I led my way through the hallway, wondering where exactly I was headed when I caught up with the living room, recalling a lot of things I shouldn't recall in the first place. But what would I do? That bitch of a woman who called myself her sister. How could she be so wicked? And why

KNOX**Months laterI woke up to the loud cry of a woman. The voice would be familiar if I had heard Sage cry a lot. But this was worse than I could ever imagine. Sitting up on the bed, I looked at Sage who was seated with her hand rubbing on her stomach. “I think the child is on its way.” “What?!” Jumping off the bed, I rushed to the door and opened it, sighting Brian who rushed in on command. “Aella!” At the top of my voice, I also shouted. Rushing back to the room, Sage was helped on her feet by Brian who had all the strength. Joining strength with the man, we managed to take Sage to the door and it was at this point that Aella showed up, confused. In her night dress. “My lady?!” She cried, rushing to our side but there was nothing she could do, especially when two hefty men were in charge of the current situation. Then, I ordered. “Get her clothes. The baby's and every other necessary thing while you join us at the center.” “Argh!” The shout of Sage and her hand digging i

SAGEMoonclaw Pack? Did I hear the man correctly? “Moonclaw Pack?” I walked towards the door and out of the room. The next time I turned around, Alpha Knox walked behind me. There was a look on his countenance and it looked like anger more than the normal him. Together, we caught up with the entrance of the living room and walked out with anger on my countenance. I knew already that it was the people I once lived with, but what did they want from me? “Good day, Luna of The Darkfangs Pack.” Did that—was that greeting for me? I looked around in shock, not believing my eyes and ears. What did I just hear? I looked at my brothers who had smiles on their faces, wondering also what was funny and why they smiled. “Good day to you—” I let out after some time. “Good day, Alpha Knox.” My husband walked forward. There was a smile on his countenance but I could tell that it was fake. How could it not be? “What can I do for you today, my in-laws?” The old Alpha walked closer. He bowe

SAGEDays after Aegon was buried, the coronation ceremony came to life and everyone in the Pack ran around. With a smile on my countenance, I looked in the mirror at how good I looked—nodding in satisfaction with my heart that looked forward to the ceremony. Everywhere in the compound looked set. I was ready. I could feel it inside of me. What more could I ask for? The smile faded when thoughts of Aegon came running in my head but I pushed it away the next moment, smiling once again with my heart that looked forward to the ceremony. “You're beautiful in your outfit, my lady.” “Thank you.” I turned to look at the maid who did a good job of getting me ready. “Can we leave already?” “Yes—” the maid mouthed. She got off the bed and took hold of my garment from behind. Something Aella should be doing but I struggled so hard to not think about a woman who had done nothing but betray me. She did what she had to do, after all. The Alpha will need to be spoken to as soon as the ceremo

KNOXSage nodded. “I'm ready, Knox.”Taking back her hand in mine, I led her out of the chamber. Through the hallway, we went—with Brian who walked behind me all this while. My guard who never would let me down. It didn't take long to get down the stairs. So many thoughts ran around in my head but I let it be because, at the end of the day, everything would play right. Either right or wrong. “Gather the wolves, Brian. You may leave now. I'm sure the angry wolves cannot do anything to me and the woman. But if they choose to be violent, then we shall have it.” There was no need to play nice any longer. Not when I could turn into a wolf and deal with them. Catching up with the compound of the main pack, I felt something—someone squeeze my hand. “Easy, my lady—” I looked at the woman. “I'm sorry, my lord. Forgive my actions.” Sage looked up at me and then at the wolves who looked so much in her direction while they gathered in front of me. “Where are all the wolves?” More wolves

  • THE SILVER HEAD LUNA; WHEN HER WOLF HOWLS   138: Talk To The Wolves

SAGE I shouldn't have returned to the pack with Knox, but I didn't have a choice because, at that point, the man was not going to let me be on my own, and talk more about finding my way. “You're going back to The pack with me and nothing is going to change that—” In a commanding tone I could not refuse, Knox picked up Aegon's lifeless body on the floor. This was a moment I had refused to believe was real but I didn't have a choice because it played right in front of me. Another reason I could not refuse to go back to the pack with Knox. I didn't want to die, even though it seemed otherwise all these while. A sigh ran out of my mouth and my mouth opened in more tears—while I walked behind Knox who was ahead of me with the lifeless body. How much longer before we arrived at the pack? I was tired. Tired of everything, especially walking such a distance with so many bags to carry along even though it was just one and there was Knox who took everything up in his arms. When does it get

KNOXHow could I explain this to him? “Did you say a woman I have been married to since all these while is your mate, Uncle?” I nodded, ashamed but what choice did I have? “She's your mate. You've known from the onset.” I looked at Sage who had it clear on her face that she was scared. But I shifted closer to her so that she could feel nothing but safety while Aegon remained in his feelings. “Aegon—” I then called. “You need to calm down and listen to me. I didn't mean to hurt you.” “I didn't say you did—” he chuckled, standing on his feet. “I'll need some time to take in this news so you must give me some—” he walked away and was out of our sight. The next time we set eyes on Aegon, it was moments later when he walked back into the scene so that he could take his flask and with this, the man was gone from our sight again. “He hates us—” Sage cried. “I can see it.” “You don't know what you're talking about—” I cried. “He's my nephew and a good man at that. Aegon cannot bring hi

SAGEI didn't know what to feel like. Especially seeing Aegon who I should be avoiding. There was shock on the countenance of Knox who didn't expect Aegon of all the people in the Pack to say that. But what choice did the Alpha have? “I'll go with you if Knox doesn't.” “I didn't say I wouldn't go—” Knox mouthed. He looked away from me and met the gaze of Aegon who watched with thoughts that surely were running around his head. “Aegon, you don't have to do this. The members might come for you if they find out it's you who helped us.” “I got tired of living a long time ago—” Aegon looked at me and then his uncle. “We'll leave in a short while. For now, I need to get a few things ready because it might be a long journey and you don't want to know how long.”The sound of ‘long’ scared me more than anything. What was the man talking about? “I don't care how long it is—” I interrupted everyone's thoughts. “Myself and Knox will be here.” He nodded, faced the door, and came out of my

KNOXI relaxed on the bed, my eyes shut as I rested from everything that happened the day before. Suddenly, a hand hit me from behind. Or even in front of me. “Open your eyes, Knox. Can't you see?!” At the top of her voice, a woman shouted like never before. Forced to open my eyes, I looked around the space as I tried so hard to read the room so that I could understand what was happening. That was when the voices of wolves—angry wolves filled my ears. “Give Her To Us!” “Can you hear that?” An already crying Sage mouthed. Letting go of me, the woman reached the end of the room before turning back around to look at me—her eyes teary. “I don't know what I'm supposed to do—can't you see they want me given to them?” I still didn't understand because there was so much sleep in my eyes and I didn't know what to do and how to do it. Rather, I was on my feet and reaching the other end of the chamber so that I could pay attention to what was going on but how could I? More sleep filled my

SAGEWhat he was saying didn't make any sense, but I wanted to hear more of it. “What did you say, Knox? And how do you mean?” “Isn't it simple?” He adjusted on the couch but I wondered how I was supposed to know. “You being a Silver Wolf is a good thing for this pack. The members don't see it.” “You're confusing me. I don't understand you.” Again, the Alpha adjusted on the couch. A sigh ran out of his mouth and he let out. “I don't think we should talk about it yet, Sage. Give me some time to process my thoughts. Do you need something?” Why did he act that way? It was my turn to let out a sigh. Even though I wanted to hear the man talk to me about how a Silver Wolf could be of help to him and the Pack, I wished I could not listen to him say it. “Hello, Sage. Did you at least hear me?” I nodded and shook my head. “Forgive me, Alpha Knox. But I heard you. I'm just too overwhelmed by a lot to recall what you said a while ago. Can you remind me?” The man got up. He walked to
