KNOX

**One Month Later

It was a month after my nephew and his wife had intercourse, and there were no signs of pregnancy.

Or was there?

Worry clouded my face on a morning like this and the very moment I opened my eyes. Maybe it was because of the nightmare I had just woken up from—when my nephew was in trouble and in need of help.

The child was our savior.

And the last time I checked, Aegon wasn't any better. Maybe he was, but I needed to hear the news and be certain that there was a way out of this.

Snapping my fingers, I relaxed my back on the bed once more. “Good morning, Brian,” I greeted the guard who walked in. “How about you call the Prince for me? I would love to have a word or two with him.”

I sat up now, heaving a sigh. “Can you be fast about it?”

“Good morning, my lord,” Brian bowed. “Give me a moment to call the Prince. Is there someone else you would love for me to call on your behalf?”

I thought about it, shaking my head almost immediately. Th

SAGE **One Month Later Once again, I was out of my room and walking through the hallway with many thoughts running around in my head. The last time, I had given my blood sample to Doctor Logan who ran a pregnancy test on me—only to be told that I wasn't with child. How was that even possible? And again, I had given my blood sample to him just last week—just so we could try again. In my heart, I wished for a positive result. Never in my life have I been so scared. The fear that ran through my veins on this day could not be compared to the one I used to have while living in The Moonclaw Pack. I was beginning to feel unsafe. Anxious and worried about what this result could be. “My lady!” From behind, someone called. It was a more familiar voice that caused me to turn around as I managed a smile on my countenance. “Yes, Aella.” “My lady—” the younger woman walked closer. “Are you leaving the pack for a walk? Why did you not come to call me so that I could at least join you?” S

SAGE**One Month LaterI didn't know what to do anymore. Not when there were no signs of pregnancy after another month since the last test result. Obviously, Aegon had become frustrated and at this point and I didn't have the slightest idea what to say to him. Because how could I say something when I didn't know what exactly the issue was? It was another morning and I wished that I did not wake. Aegon, my handsome husband, was lying next to me on the bed. He was facing the other side of the bed which was what I wanted. But how do I stand up and leave for the bathroom, or maybe out of the chamber? Aella, these days didn't do much as usual. I had gotten to the point where I bathed myself and walked out of the room, heading to the kitchen so that I could take a tray of meals for myself. Sometimes, Aegon also. Sitting up on the bed, I realized that Aegon wasn't next to me there. So who did I see a while ago? Perhaps, it was because of how sleepy I was and that was why I could not

SAGETonight, the full moon will come out. Once again, I looked forward to giving my blood to the man I was married to. The last time I checked, it was important I did that, even though I didn't have the slightest idea why this was part of their traditions. It was in the evening, and everyone was getting ready to be gathered in the compound for the event. No, the moment. In my chamber, I looked at myself in the mirror. Aella, who should be getting me dressed, left the chamber a while ago to get me a bottle of water. The last time I checked, more than enough energy was needed for this cause and I could not wait for this moment to come and go so that I could go back to the life I used to have—before the full moon. And get ready for the next full moon. Did my life have to be a mess? “My lady,” the door opened again. “Aella,” I looked at her. “Where is my husband?” “I don't know but he has to be with the Alpha,” she walked closer and dropped the bottle on the table. “Would you

ELEANOR My eyes opened on the bed in the space of my chamber. It wasn't in the morning, but evening. I had just woken up from a nap and this was my time to have something. Anything at all as long as it filled my stomach. Sitting up on the bed, I looked around the room. There was something I told myself I would do the very moment I came awake, and I can't recall. Why was that? Standing up on my feet as I jumped off the bed, I reminded myself that there was no reason at all to rush. Not now or ever. Nothing left my head without coming back, and now that I needed to eat, it was better I did that. Ever since I left The Darkfangs Pack, I have never had so much peace. A soothsayer didn't need to let me know about the predicament my sister was going through before it would come to my notice. On several occasions, I had seen it in my dream—the pain in her eyes. Her hate for me and a wish that all of these would come to an end. Which brings me to my time to strike. Reaching the bathr

ELEANOR “What do you say, Prince Aegon?” He was silent, just as I expected. What was going through his mind? What else if not the fact that he was going to cheat on his wife? Maybe not cheating but he was just about to say ‘yes’ to me who was an enemy to his wife. What would Sage have the poor man do? She has taken over him so much that it was hard for him to recognize other people. Such a bitch like she was. At this point, I was beginning to run out of patience but what would I have myself do? For all that I knew, if I was ever going to have Aegon next to me and on my side, I would have to embrace the act of having patience. Just like I was now.Although it was likely to not last because I had never encountered such nonsense and waste of time in all my life. Smiling, I walked over to the end of the room where there existed a mirror and now, looked into it while waiting for him to speak. Or did he not have a thing to say?“What do you have to say, Prince Aegon? Do you have th

SAGEIt was another morning and maybe the next full moon would be out tonight. I didn't keep calculations of the event because it didn't excite me like it used to. Heading into the bathroom for a quick shower on my own, I walked out to the rays of sunlight hitting the window not so far from the bed. By this time, Aegon was still asleep which was very unusual. It looked like he was reserving his strength for something and I wondered at the same time what it could be—also letting myself know that the man needed as much rest as he could get and that was what he was doing. “Good morning, Aegon,” I called, trying to see if he could wake up but there was nothing like that and I gave up. Leaving the space, I led my way through the hallway, wondering where exactly I was headed when I caught up with the living room, recalling a lot of things I shouldn't recall in the first place. But what would I do? That bitch of a woman who called myself her sister. How could she be so wicked? And why

ELEANOR I was late already!Pushing my luggage into the reception of the hotel I had in mind, I stopped at the desk of the receptionist. “Good day. I'm here to take a room. A room for two. My boyfriend is on his way.” I shot her a smile and she did the same. “Welcome to De Royal Suites, ma'am,” she sounded. “We're more than glad to have you. How do you want to go about it?” She asked and I stopped to think, wondering what to say and even the exact thing she meant. Was there a special way to go about it in the first place? Now that I thought about it, I looked around to be certain I was not in any way in the wrong place. “Well—” I let out after my thoughts. “I have no idea what I want. But I know I just want a good room. In case you don't know, it's our anniversary and I need to make something special for the love of my life. I want the kind of suite new lovers lodge in whenever they meet. I'm sure you understand what I mean, or don't you?” “Perfect,” she looked away and searched

ELEANOR I was relaxed on the bed when a hand touched me. Instead of slightly, the hand on my back hit me aggressively and I did not bulge—not for a moment. My thoughts centered around the fact that I was dreaming and it wasn't real—the more reason I relaxed my back on the bed and even, faced the other side. Again, this hand hit me. Left with no other choice, I sat up. Jumped up, rather. What was that? So, it wasn't a dream? I looked around me while one of my hands rubbed on my face. “Good—”And just about that time, I recalled what I had come here to do. “Good morning, Prince Aegon,” smiling, I let out as I got off the bed while dragging the duvet with me. “Did you have a good night's rest?” As I reminisced on what happened a night ago, the smile on my face did not disappear and in moments, I caught up with the large couch, falling on it the next moment. “Keep your greetings to yourself,” his voice was shaky. “What have you done, Eleanor?” Raising the sheets to look at himse

ELEANOR The next morning, I walked out of my chamber with a sober look on my countenance.I didn't want to assume things. Not until I heard from the doctor - the more reason I was leading my way to the hospital at this time of the day. “Good morning, lady Eleanor—” someone greeted, causing me to stop in my tracks automatically. “Good morning to you, too—” I mouthed. I had a question to ask, but on second thought, I changed my mind about it and resumed my movement. “You should have a good day at the end of today.” In no time, I caught up with the gate of the pack. Looking around, I caught sight of the Alpha and Aegon who moped at me with suspicious looks on their faces. Maybe - just maybe they thought I was about to leave for a moment of my own just as I termed it the other day. I didn't have to explain to them but I walked in their direction. “Good morning, Alpha Knox.” I greeted the older man with a bow and faced Aegon who faked a smile. Maybe it wasn't fake either. “Good morn

ELEANOR The next morning, I paced the space of my chamber with a confused look on my countenance - many thoughts running around in my head but one more than the other. How the hell didn't I realize this was a hard task? Maybe. Just maybe that was why Aella could not do a good job in the first instance. Who knew? A sigh ran out of my mouth and I stopped pacing. What do I do? It was very early in the morning. Not many wolves had woken up but there was me who did - especially because I needed to think about how to add this potion to the meal of my sister who sure was asleep. “Oh, no—” a loud cry ran out of my mouth again. What do I do?There was nothing I knew I could do except put in the potion just as the old Witch instructed. And I was going to do that even though I wasn't sure whether this operation would be a successful one or not. Walking back to the bed, I took a seat on it and then lay on my back before drifting to sleep. As soon as the main morning arrived, I was lead

ELEANOR It was four days after the meeting with the Witch. As expected and after a long wait, the maid assigned to me came over to announce how ready the old man was. “He's asked for you to be in his chamber.” I was ready - more than ready so there was no need to take a bath since I had taken one about an hour ago. “I'm ready to meet with him. Shall we leave?” Not saying a word, the young woman walked before me while I took my place behind her. Together, we walked and as expected, she stopped at the door of the chamber. “You can go in.” She announced before walking away. Not knocking, I pushed the door open and walked into the chamber - catching sight of the old man. “Good day, old man—” I caught up with the center of the room. “I have come just as you have asked. Shall I take a seat?” He nodded, pointing at the couch I was seated on the other day. “Thank you for coming—” he announced, sitting up on the couch. “The potion we talked about is very much ready. Are you ready to do

  • THE SILVER HEAD LUNA; WHEN HER WOLF HOWLS   116: AN IDEA.

ELEANOR A day after I arrived at the Witch's mansion, the maid assigned to me came over to my chamber to let me know that the old Witch had become more than ready to see me. It was good news - more than good news because the last time I was here, it took me more than a day to see the man. “You must be ready in the next hour.” The maid who came to make the announcement sounded. “I shall return so that you can be taken to the chamber of my master.” Nodding, I got out of bed and reached the bathroom where I washed up, getting more than ready the next time I showed up in the chamber. Where was this maid? Didn't she say she would be here in the next hour? Or was it not an hour yet? Left with no choice, I relaxed on the bed while waiting for the maid to once again show up. A hand knocked on the door, announcing the presence of the maid who had come to take me with her. I let her in with a snap of my fingers. “I'm ready. When shall we leave?” I now sat up on the bed and watched the w

  • THE SILVER HEAD LUNA; WHEN HER WOLF HOWLS   115: NOT DEAD

ELEANOR Why the hell was she alive and not yet dead?! Another two months had passed and there was no way she was dead. At least, not yet. What was she doing alive? This morning, I woke up with a worried look on my countenance. There was a lot went through my mind as I tried to balance this - especially why my sister—step-sister did not die and was very much still alive. There was no way I could make it make sense because it didn't make any sense to me also. Sage should be dead at this point but she wasn't—at least, not yet. Not yet? If she hadn't died for over two months, when would she finally be dead? I jumped off the bed and looked to my left to meet Aegon who was very much awake - a smile on his countenance. He wasn't smiling at me. He fixed his gaze on the ceiling and looked at me when he felt my gaze on his face. “Good morning—” the smile disappeared from his face and he jumped on his feet. “I should go hunting with the other men.” In a short while, the door opened and

  • THE SILVER HEAD LUNA; WHEN HER WOLF HOWLS   114: MISSING HER.

KNOXThere was no way I would not miss her. All the time, whenever I set eyes on the bed where I lay all night, all I could think about was Sage and the sweet moment we shared on this same bed. What more could I ask for? A knowing smile came on my countenance this evening while I stared at the bed again, as usual. It had somehow become a daily sacrifice for me - the kind of sacrifice I could never overlook and over again, I looked forward to carrying out this sacrifice another time. A hand on the door cut short my thoughts. I let my gaze disappear from the bed, catching up with the door and pulling it so that it could be open. “Yes, Brian. What do you want from me this time around?” Opening the door wider, I watched him walk into the chamber. Without wasting time, I caught up with the bed but did not allow my thoughts to move in that direction. There was something to attend to, obviously, and that was something I was about to do. “Tell me. What is it?” Again, Brian bowed. “My

  • THE SILVER HEAD LUNA; WHEN HER WOLF HOWLS   113: WIN. AGAIN!

SAGEEver since the other night—with Alpha Knox, we didn't set eyes on each other again. An act from my end. What were we seeing each other for? What would I say to him? Waking up this morning, I felt very much better than a few days ago when a fever started. What did I do to deserve that? I sat up, relieved from not throwing up like the other nights—and then led my way to the mirror in a corner of the chamber so that I could check myself out. Oh, yes. As usual, I looked good. Once. Twice. Thrice, I shook my head to see if it still hurt. But then, I walked back to the bed to take a seat when I realized how better I had become. All the thanks to Aella. Where was she? The woman needed as much rest as she could get, the last time I checked. She had done more than a lot in these past few days and my wish was to let her be by herself, resting, throughout today. But who was it that knocked at the door? “Lady Sage?” I should have known. Aella would not take the rest I knew sh

  • THE SILVER HEAD LUNA; WHEN HER WOLF HOWLS   112: SIGHT HER.

ELEANOR The morning came and I was unsettled. There were so many thoughts running around in my head as soon as I opened my eyes on the large bed this morning. What did she go to do? Sage. What did Sage go to do in that area at that time of the morning? I sat up on the bed and looked around for Aegon, not also surprised that he was not somewhere on the bed or even the room, especially when this was something he always did. Aegon should be the least of my concerns. There was something I needed to do than think about why Aegon was not in the chamber with me or on the bed. I got up on my feet and walked to the window so that I could take a look, after which I let go before returning to the bed. Returning to my thoughts. I had seen Sage pass through the hallway in the early hours of the morning when I took a stroll. Sleeping was quite hard for me and in order to not feel worse than I feel, I made up my mind to take a stroll and think of possible ways to feel better. There were

  • THE SILVER HEAD LUNA; WHEN HER WOLF HOWLS   111: ELEANOR'S EYES.

SAGEIt was me who was first to open my eyes the next morning. Looking to my right, Knox was there. Right there, snoring quietly as he wrapped his arm around my neck. The handsome man. He should not see me here when he woke up. The more reason I was the first to come awake before him—maybe almost all in this royal chamber. I wanted more sleep, but not here. With this, I carefully took the Alpha's hand off my neck and dropped it on the bare bed, sitting up, then standing up. A smile came alive on my countenance. I wanted to think about the former night but I couldn't when I wasn't safe in the chamber I should be in. Staring at my naked self in the mirror, I spent the next moment fighting for my outfit on the floor. When did I even take them off? Was this how sweet sex could be when it was with the person you admire the most? Snapping out of my thoughts, I got dressed quickly. I looked out the window and no one paced the compound. How could they? The morning had yet to come
