HELENA’S POV The coldness of his voice seeped through my bare skin as he held onto me and stared at me fondly. My chest was beating fast again as the tension rose between us and I knew where this was going, so I had to up my game and guard up my control so I wouldn’t just be crumbling every time at his touch. I mean we still have a long way to go, we have several knots to untangle and many situations to straighten out. If I let my emotions get the best of me right now, I might not be able to find the answers I had fought for so hard till that moment. “How about you stay with me tonight?” he asked, staring deep into my eyes. My lips trembled to find the right one, but nothing was coming to it so I closed my eyes to take a deep breath before removing my hand from his. “Draco, we still have a long way to go. I discussed the issue with Alpha Draco, who wondered how we could rescue Vincent from Elder Damon’s residence if it was true that he was there. “The goods for the palace will be coming in soon. You can use that as a form of disguise to confirm if he’s there or not”, I advised, and he clapped at my suggestion. “That is very true. We will have to see how it turns out when we get there. Since it’s a hostage case, then we will have to search properly because he will be hidden in a place where no one will have access to him except the elder himself”, he added, and I reasoned with him. SEVERAL MONTHS AGO I was on a date with Draco on the wide bridge in the pack when Gray ran to us panicking. He was covered in sweats and his breathing was shallow due to the excessive running he had done. I waited for so long in the cell and it felt as if no one would come. Hunger almost gouged out my eyes, but I was suppressing it with the thought that I shouldn’t be hungry in this kind of absurd situation. “I wonder if I have been forgotten here. Who knows what has happened to my parents? I want to see them so badly” I kept talking to myself until the huge metal scrapped the concrete floor to signal the presence of someone. “Finally” I gasped, trying to rush to the cell’s door, but I was pulled back by the shackles I had forgotten was there. I shrieked in pain as the cold metal dug its teeth into my already sore flesh. The speed at which I had fallen back to my seat was so hard that my butt stung in pain. “Fck” I cursed subtly under my breath, waiting for whoever it was that opened the door. I was thrown back into the cold and dark cell where I had been left for close to two days. The coldness of the bare floor helped a lot to cool my burning wounds and I was able to sleep well on the floor because my hands were not tied this time around. Everything I had passed through played in my head. From the moment I was laughing in Draco’s arms on the field to the place he commanded me to be thrown back in the cell. I couldn’t stop wondering where the trust he said he had in me was, the love he had always confessed he had for me and those assuring words he had always told me. “Everything was a lie, a blatant lie” I kept repeating to myself over and over, and I lied down crying silently. Streams of light greeted my eyes as I opened them to an unfamiliar place.
