Seed of doubts

Amara's POV

I paced around the room, trying to come up with a plan to get out of this place. I had been locked in this room for what felt like forever, and every attempt to escape had been thwarted. I was getting restless and needed to move around, but the small space wouldn't allow for it.

I heard footsteps outside and immediately went to the door, pressing my ear against it to listen. I heard voices, but I couldn't make out what they were saying. I tried to shift into my wolf form, but it wouldn't work. I was stuck in my human form, unable to access my powers.

The door opened, and two guards walked in. They grabbed me roughly and dragged me out of the room. I stumbled, almost falling, but they didn't stop to help me. They led me down a long corridor, and I tried to memorize the route we were taking, but everything looked the same.
