Dylan’s Pov Everything about the letter didn't seem right and Amara hardly called me Dylan, since we made up. Somebody was playing games but I had no idea who so I decided to play dumb. I handed the letter back to the maid and turned to Princess who was staring at me expectantly. I swallowed the lump in my throat and cleared it, looking up at her. “It's from Amara” I stated, hoping she would understand my emotions. “Where is she? Is she safe? Can we go get her now?” she asked excitedly. If only she knew the content of the letter she won't be excited “She wants me to move on” I said plainly, still trying to wrap my head around everything. She froze and then rushed to grab the letter from the maid. “What do you mean she asked you to move on?” She asked as she opened the letter. Her face fell upon reading the contents of the letter, as did mine. “But…she said she loved you...Amara, I know can't write this ” “How can she do that?! Something isn't right” Princess went on “What
Elana has been in a good mood since the letter arrived. No one knew she wrote the letter and even if they doubt it at first they will eventually believe its content. She wondered why she tried to bribe Amara before when she could fake a letter all along. Smiling and treating the maids and guards nicely which is weird because she is always mean to them and never misses to downgrade them as they are omegas and some are weak because they haven't been able to shift into their wolf form. Right now she is in the kitchen with the maids as they prepare breakfast for the pack house something she never did. The maids were quite uncomfortable with Elana around as they were used to her snapping at them. The fact that they could only be punished when Elana was in a bad mood didn't help either. “I have no idea what you are saying but I don’t care so shut up. ” Elana says sharply. She can hear the girls sigh behind her. They know better than to say anything back because then it'll only be
Aidan caught up with Barton and Jeffery at the barrier site. Cecelia wasn't around, he guessed she was as busy as he was earlier but canceled the thought because she was yet to find her mate and she acts more masculine than feminine probably because she is always around the guys. A lot of improvements have been done and if the workers should keep up with their pace they would be done in no time. “Hey guys” Aidan greeted when he was close enough “You are late,” Barton said not turning to him “From the glow on your face, you must have had a very good time” Jeffrey chipped in as Aidan stood beside Aidan hit his head playfully and said “Hey it's not my fault you guys haven't found your mate, but I know they are out there waiting for you guys too” He looked at Jeffery. “It's hard without a partner” Jeffery said quietly not meaning anything bad by it “It's not just about finding her.she has to accept the mate bond too or all this year s of waiting will just be in vain” Barton muttered
Kaden had just woken up from sleep because of the nightmare he had. A really bad one that made his heart race so fast and his chest constrict in fear. His breathing was loud and uneven, his body trembling with anxiety. He couldn’t even tell what exactly it was that was making him so uneasy. His mind just kept going back to what his nightmare had been about – the war,the blood and death. His death. His skin prickled with goosebumps at the memory and he sat up in his bed shivering, his breath coming out in short gasps as sweat dripped down his forehead, his eyes wide open and unblinking. He tried blinking them closed as well, but it seemed like they were stuck together now, refusing to part. The voice in his dream kept echoing in his head “You can't change fate!!!” and it sent chills down his spine. But why? Why could he not change things? He thought about it for a second more while his thoughts slowed and his racing heart calmed down. ‘But why would the moon goddess giv
Amara opened her eyes slowly, blinking several times to adjust to the darkness surrounding her. She tried moving but immediately noticed that both her wrists were handcuffed to the bedposts above her head. She was lying flat on her back, facing the ceiling. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she realised she was in her room, the room and grew up in before Kaden betrayed her. She looked at the IV drip and monitor hooked to the stand on her right side. “You are awake” she heard a female voice and turned in that direction, she saw a blonde lady but from the white coat she was putting on she guessed, she was a Doctor. The doctor was standing next to the end of her bed and as Amara lifted herself from the bed with effort, her head felt slightly fuzzy. She winced and clutched her forehead as she felt dizzy for a few seconds. “How are you feeling?” The doctor asked softly and Amara frowned confused. “Where am I? Where is Kaden..?” She asked quickly but when she turned her gaze tow
Dylan’s Pov Tossing and turning on my bed all night and I still can't find an ounce of sleep. The alleged letter from Amara is by my bedside and I keep staring at it. The letter is so simple and I know she didn't write it. Something is fishy but what could it be? Should I invade Kaden’s pack to find her? and what if she is not there? I will end up causing war. No, that's not good. Or maybe I should send spies into his kingdom? He talked about his mate the last time he came here, could his mate be Amara? I quickly canceled that thought because the moon goddess can not give one person as a mate to two people. I looked at the time and it was 3 am, I should go out for air. The heating season is coming and I hope I survive without Amara here. I used Elana then for pleasure but there is no way I'm touching her now that I have found my mate even though she isn't around for now. I will just instruct Barton and Aidan to chain me in the basement cells. I stood up and walked
It was already morning, while the maids were up and about Princess sat by the balcony with her canvas, paints and brushes. The sun wasn't fully up yet, only beginning to peek over the horizon. There was a light dusting of pink in the sky, along with clouds slowly rolling in from the west. It would probably rain later today. Not that she cared. She had no need for rain, but it would have been nice if there would have been clouds covering this beautiful view, so she could paint something else. Instead, the sky looked like it always does. she decided to take up her brother’s advice to paint, she knew it was a long time since she painted but she was going to try. Looking out at the sky she decided to paint an image from her memory. She didn't expect anything to happen today, but she thought that maybe painting would help relieve some stress she had. She dipped one finger into a bottle of water on the table before sitting down and started dabbing away gently at
Elder Fletch was the last to come in for the follow-up meeting of yesterday “Good afternoon Alpha and my fellow elders.” he greeted them as he entered inside ignoring Aidan, Barton, Cecelia, and Jeffery “Good morning” Dylan replied “You kept us waiting” Elder Mervin spoke out “I had a family emergency, my youngest grandson refused to eat” Elder Fletch explained “I'm sorry for keeping you guys waiting” he further added. Dylan nodded at him as he sat down “Now that we are all here, we can start the meeting” Dylan told the group “So we all can't go to the witch kingdom leaving our pack unattended do” Cecelia “Yes, that's right” Jeffery added “Well, I never planned to go with all of you” Dylan said “And what do you mean by you never planned to go with all of us?” Aidan asked shocked at Dylan’s response “Aidan, there is no way, I will leave the pack with all of you” Dylan replied trying to make his beta see his point “And who says you're even going on this journey?” Aidan asked
