CHAPTER FIVE

I screamed out in pain as I felt a surge of pain lancing through my shoulder then slowly followed by a wave of pleasure that left me breathless. I breathed in and out harshly trying to calm myself. I could feel myself closer to him that before, it was like I was sharing half of his soul, is this what a mate bond felt like. Suddenly, I didn't want him to leave me but I knew it was the bond talking not me, so I kept quiet and lowered my head as he pulled back, I glanced at the place he had bitten me and saw a mark on my shoulder- a wolf standing majestically-an intricate symbol that seemed to pulse with a life of its own. Ryker's eyes locked onto mine, his gaze burning with passion. "You're mine now," he whispered, his breath sending shivers down my spine. With that, he turned and disappeared into the night, leaving me feeling stunned and confused and wanting. I suddenly yawned as I looked around the room. So many things have happened today, I was exhausted so I lay down under the soft covers and immediately fell asleep.

I woke up to the warm sunlight streaming through the window and landing on my face. I made to stand up and get to my routine when I realized that the room felt different and luxurious, that's when I remembered, I was no longer in that pack, I was safe here. At least for now. I stretched as I rose up feeling refreshed, it had been like forever since I slept this good, all my mornings in my former pack had been filled with rushing up and down getting breakfast ready, cleaning the house and feeding my father and sister. I took a hot shower and when I came out there was a shirt and a pair of pants with underwear and a pair of sneakers. I smiled, grateful to whoever brought them, I was already worried about what I would wear since my old clothes were dirty and torn, speaking of my old clothes where are they? I looked around the room for them but then I shrugged, they were bound to be thrown out anyway, I bet the person who brought them to me took them also. My stomach growled, reminding me that I hadn't eaten since the previous day and also some additional days.

"I see the clothes fit you, I'm glad" I screamed as a low voice growled behind me. alpha Ryker stood with his hands on his chest, his big chest butted out with the action, his hair pulled behind his head as he stared at me with an expression I couldn't decipher.

"Why..what are you doing here?"

He raised an eyebrow at me, right this was his room. "I nean...good morning. I know I'm in your room, I'll leave right now" I spoke nervously. The atmosphere in the room was too tight with tension, I couldn't help but fidget. He moved towars me but then stopped when he saw me tense over.

"Come eat, the dinning room is to the left. We wouldn't want you fainting due to hunger again." He spoke then left, his boots thudding gently as he shot the door. I pouted, I only fainted once and it was due to weakness and starvation, not that I was that weak anyway.

"Okay" I braced myself to go eat. I closed the door gently as I looked towards my left. I made my way to the dining hall, my senses on high alert. The dining hall was bustling with pack members, all chatting and laughing. My eyes scanned the room, searching for a familiar face but I couldn't see him. The thought of joining them filled me with trepidation so I stood behind the door watching and waiting for a chance to go in. Did I mention shifters had enhanced sense? Well they do and I think I was foolish for not remembering that, they suddenly sniffed the air and settled their eyes on me. All eyes on me made me want to dash back up to the room, that's when I spotted a woman, sitting at a table with a warm smile directed at me. I cleared my throat and greeted them with my head lowered a bit.

"H..hi. Goid morning" Some people answered, some didn't while others just stared at me.

I made my way to young woman's table, feeling a sense of relief. But just as I was about to sit down, a group of pack members approached me.

A young tall man with muscles happened to be their ring leader."Well, well, well, look what we have here," he sneered. "The little wolfless girl thinks she can join our pack? And as our Luna, she must be dreaming"

My heart sank as the pack members began to laugh, I knew this was going to happen, maybe I didn't deserve to be here. They were right anyway, I was a wolfless girl and as such, I didn't deserve their alpha. But before things could escalate, the woman stood up, her blue eyes flashing with anger.

"Leave her alone," she growled, her voice low and menacing.

The members took a step back, their eyes widening in fear, especially their ringleader.

"We...we're sorry" they stuttered, I watched the woman in fascination.

And then, in an instant, they were picked up into the air and thrown out of the dining hall, as if an invisible force had pushed them. My eyes widened in shock as she turned to stare at the people in the room. None of them appeared surprised by what had happened."How did that happen" I whispered, my mind was so blown over with shock.

"Just my little trick" the woman turned to look at me as she spoke. I stared at her while she casually sat down again, "You were the one who did that, that taking them up in the air and throwing them out?" My voice became animated with excitement. She smiled at me and offered me her hand.

"Hi, my name is Kala, nice to...."

She suddenly frowned her face and stopped speaking halfway, even the place grew quiet and I wondered what happened. No one was moving, they all stood still and stared in one direction. I also turned to stare in that direction while I asked confused.

"What are you guys look....." I understood why they were frozen, even I became frozen.
