CHAPTER TWO

My body turned cold as I tried to retrace my steps but it was already too late, Aidan had already sniffed me out, I may not have a wolf but I still had a scent.

"It's Rosita" he told my sister softly, annoyance laced his voice.

"Oh Rosita. Why is she hiding, she will find out anyway" Avery spoke cheerily, "Rosita!"

Taking a deep breath I came into their view, they were still linked together, his hands made caressing motions over her body, he didn't even have the decency to look me in the eyes.

"Hey Rosie, I have good news to share with you" she gushed out, "You see, Aidan and I, we discovered we like each other so you don't have to be his mate anymore"

I looked at Aidan, although I already knew what he was going to say.

"I don't mean to hurt you Rosita, but I never really liked you as my mate. I've found your sister and I love her, she is a much better choice than you"

"I see, so...", I cleared my throat trying to free the lump lodged in my throat, it hurts. "...why didn't you let me know, why didn't...you let me love you...its been two years" my voice broke as I spoke.

He sneered at me, "You're wolfless, I'm going to be an alpha, I don't need a weak, wolfless person as my Luna" he smirked at me, his dull green eyes shinning with laughter, "You should be grateful that I let you enjoy a few years of my love and attention and also..." His hands pulled Avery flush against his tall body, his black shirt making him more sexy, "...be happy for I and your sister."

I shook my head, "Your father won't approve of this"

He sighed dramatically, "Rosita, just accept it, you know we were never meant to be together, you are far too weak to be my mate. I've decided to accept your sister"

"But your father..."

He suddenly snorted, both he and Avery grinned, "And what makes you think so?"

"Aidan" a strong voice boomed from behind me, I didn't need to turn to check, it was Alpha Joshua, Aidan's father. Hope fluttered in my chest.

"Alpha". I bowed my head as he walked towards us, his alpha pressure pushed me lower while I struggled to stand, my father walked behind him, I heard him snort as he passed me.

"What is going on here?"

"Dad, I have decided to take Avery as my mate, I don't need her sister. Do I have your blessings?"

My head was still lowered so I could not see Alpha Joshua's face but I prayed to the moon goddess that he would not agree to this.

"Yes, finally my son has come to his senses"

What! I whipped my head so fast my neck hurt, I stared in shock at the alpha who was patting his son's shoulder with a proud look on his face, as they stood together I could see their resemblance, they both had the same hair and eyes colour, black and dull green. How could he do this, but he had always supported our relationship.

"B..but Alpha!"

"Silence weakling" he growled at me, I whimpered as I lowered my head again, pain in my chest.

"I have been hoping that you would dump her and choose someone better and you have. Her sister is more stronger and suitable to be your mate. Do you agree Beta Boaz?"

"Absolutely, Alpha. I give them my blessings."

Hah. That didn't surprise me but it still hurt. What did I expect from him anyway.

A pair of sneakers covered legs stood in front of me.

"Rosita Blackwater, I Aidan Star of Stargaze pack hereby reject you as my mate, do you accept?"

I didn't want to accept, the moon goddess put us together, but I knew that I had no choice, even if I refused, I'm still rejected.

With a trembling breath, "I, Rosita Blackwater, hereby accept your rejection ...Aidan Star." I whispered, suddenly I screamed as an intense pain assaulted my chest, it hurt almost to the point of fainting, like a hot knife had been plunged in my chest. I fell flat to the ground gasping in pain as they watched me.

"Now Aidan, accept Avery as your mate"

"Yes dad",Aidan cleared his throat, "Avery Blackwater, I, Aidan Star hereby take you as my mate, do you accept?"

"I Avery Blackwater do hereby accept you Aidan Star as my mate" she replied, I could hear the joy in her voice.

My fate was sealed, I've lost my mate.

"Alpha, what do we do with her, she is a stain to I and my family's name and also the pack" my father immediately spoke, through the fog of my pain, I wondered what I could have done to him to warrant such hate.

"Take her to one of the dungeons" Alpha Joshua ordered.

I felt myself being carried away but I was too weak from the pain to struggle, I could only whisper.

"Please...let...me go"

"I smell my mate"

"Your mate? Are you sure, I don't see anyone here"

"I can smell her scent and my wolf says she is in distress"

"Well then, we have to find her but there are a lot of females here, I don't think it will be easy to find her"

"I'll find her, I've been searching for her for years, after days won't matter to me"

"Yes, you have and I'm sure we will find her".

"We have to hurry, Kai is restless and we don't have much time"

I've been in the dungeon for a while now, I have lost track of time since this place is always dark no matter what. I'm hungry, they haven't sent anyone to give me food so I'm too weak to even move my head. I wonder how much longer I have to stay here and what will be my fate, as long as I don't die, I'm fine. Suddenly the door opened and immediately the bright light hurt my eyes so I had to close my eyes tightly. Then I was dragged and dumped on the ground. When I weakly opened my eyes, I saw the alpha sitting at the center of the room on a large mahogany chair decorated with wolves and moons, we were at the pack house. My father and sister sat on the left side of the alpha while Aidan sat at the right side. The seven pack elders stood in a semi circle and stared down at me with disgust.

"I have decided that since this lady here is a wolf defect, she is wolfless and so is she useless. So we have to get rid of the filth for the image of this pack before the end of the mating ceremony which is tomorrow." Alpha Joshua announced.

So we were still in the mating week, it usually last five days so which means I've been locked up for four days.

"I say we banish her" a voice spoke.

"Why banish her, let's kill her and save other packs the stress of meeting such a waste like her."

They really want to kill me, my own pack, tears sprung to my eyes. What did I do to deserve this.

"I agree. Let's have her killed, her very existence is only a smear to my name" my father grunted.

"Fine. We shall kill her tomorrow morning"

I longed to scream out my grievances but I was too weak.

"You will do no such thing" a strong voice growled out, my skin shivered from the voice.
